Chương 4: JOKE OF THE YEAR!

Feng Ye glared at her with an indescribable expression on his face. 'What is she overreacting for?! Don't tell me she was expecting me to tell her that she was some celestial goddess before and now she has upgraded to a higher level. If he had not been in contact with her these years, he wouldn't have been able to recognize her? Hell, even her ancestors would not recognize her!'

'Darling, you were clearly not good looking before, okay! I even thought that I had to marry you because no one else would. And look at this brat now!'

After a while, they entered a small and sweet one Bhk apartment. The apartment was in a less bustling corner of the city. Feng Ye looked around and made a strange face, and then looked at Ning Mei who was already slumped on the couch. "Xiao mei," he called softly.

"Yeah... what's it?" Ning Mei answered airily. She was basking in the pleasure of being at her own house.

"Don't tell me the Fourth Young Miss of the Ning family is going to stay in this one Bhk apartment?! Are you still the same haughty and demanding fatty I had grown up with? Are you seriously going to live here?! Isn't this place a little too cramped up?!!" Feng Ye asked with a strange expression on his face. He was seriously suspecting whether this girl in front of him was the same person he knew.

Three years ago, Ning Mei would always have problems when she visited him. When she did, she would always complain that his room was too small and messy. Well back in those days... Elder Ning and Brother Jiming did spoil her rotten.

"Tsk... Tsk.. still the wasteful and extravagant rich young master, you are..." She said while shaking her head. "You must learn to live with small things, my friend. They are more homey and give you a sense of security and peacefulness... You feel at ease in your mi…"

"Cut that crap and tell me the real reason?!" Feng Ye asked, putting his hands on his waist and tapping the floor with his shoes, impatiently. 'What is she giving me such long nonsense for?! Go and fool someone else!

I have known you for ten years and you think you can fool me?!'

Ning Mei was speechless. She put on an innocent expression and said, " I am penniless!"

Feng Ye sneered and nodded. "See I told you! She.. wait wait.. what?!"

He looked at her with big wide eyes and pointed a trembling finger towards her as if he looked at a ghost. "You.. you... you are penniless!? Bwahahaha!!! " And he burst out laughing.

"You are penniless? Haha. haha.. haha." He has truly heard the best joke of the year! "Girl, don't you know? You have two money dragons waiting for you at home to guard you? You just have to say money and they are ready to give you as much as you want!"

Ning Mei heard him and pursed her lips tightly, and then said with a pout, "They don't know that I am back."

Feng Ye immediately stopped laughing and asked in disbelief, "Ning Mei, are you kidding me!? You didn't inform anyone that you're back and on top of that, you're living separately. Don't you know how much they missed you these years? Ah.. forget it... They are going to kill me if I don't inform them. I better do my duty." And saying this he took out his phone.

But Ning Mei snatched the phone before he could call anyone and warned him, "I dare you to do it! I don't know whether they will kill you or not but if you call them, I am going to kill you for sure!"

Feng Ye was fuming with disbelief and confusion as he couldn't figure out what this little mistress was up to.
