Chương 2: The dog

The next day I woke up around 6. She was still asleep, Im not surprised yesterday was exhausting for her. I get out of bed kiss her on the forehead and get dressed for the day. I go into the living room to see the dog. Its a border collie. I grab a small bowl from the cabinet and fill it with water. I sit next to it gently petting it. "Im gonna take you to the vet today" i say quietly. The dog slowly starts to wake up. Scared it darts away growling and me. Calmly i stand up to get some lunch meat from the fridge. It follows cautiously. I grab a few slices of black forest ham and set them on the floor and step back. It devours the lunch meat and steps back. I sit down cross legged with my arm out in front of the dog. She approaches slowly with her head down ready to bite. She sniffs my hand several times. I don't move as to not frighten her. My wife wakes up and walks in and notices what im doing so she stays quiet and watches. The dog comes closer, my hand right beside her neck. I slowly start to move my hand towards her to touch her. The dog doesn't react i pet her softly until I know i can stand up. As I do i grab the water bowl and put it in front of her. I walk over to my wife. "It looks like she trusts you" she says with a half grin. "Yeah, i suppose so". I watch the dog drink it all up them fall back asleep. I start my day.
