Chương 8: (Ch8) Bloody Kill
Ivan looked at the golem he made. It was 4ft tall, has a round body and cylinder shaped legs that seemed to be detached from its body. There was also a green gem in the middle of its chest.
The weird thing was that the golem was in the shape of a wolf. Ivan was confused because the alchemy books he read said that golems would take shape into what ever the caster needs the most. Even if the caster doesn't know what they need or want most.
Without thinking any deeper about the reason why the golem turned into a wolf, Ivan started to test out what he could do with the new golem. After a while, Ivan found out he could only give the golem basic commands, like which direction to move, jumping, etc.
Ivan didn't have a soul to give the golem, nor did he want to. So Ivan gave up on the golem for now and resumed training his magic.
After finishing training, Ivan walked back to his room to sleep, but when he walked in he found Greg and Sterling in his room. Ivan stood there frozen not knowing to do.
Greg was the first one to speak,"Ivan, tomorrow morning we need to run some test on you to make sure you are doing well". "By that he means you will have to kill someone in cold blood". Said Sterling, destroying what little hope Ivan had for a peaceful life.
Greg glared angrily at Sterling while the both were heading out. After those two short sentences Ivan had a restless night worrying about how he will kill another living being.
Waking up, Ivan found he was in another room. The walls had many weapon racks that were empty for some reason, there was also a small indent in the wall that lead to a wooden gate at the end.
When Ivan walked towards the wooden gate, it slowly creaked open by its self. What Ivan saw on the other side was a big room with a one way observation window, but before Ivan could grasp his environment fully, there was a loud explosion and dust flew everywhere.
In the dust cloud Ivan could make out a figure of a large man, this 'giant' was 10 meters tall and had a bulky body. Ivan sensed danger from this being, so he rolled to the side, and a second later a large boulder is thrown to where Ivan was standing before.
Seeing this Ivan knew he had to keep moving, and use his agility to out maneuver the clumsy giant. While dodging the giants rock throw, Ivan casts a earth spell to make the ground around the giants feet brittle, trapping the giant in a large pothole restricting its movement even more.
Seeing that the giant was stunned after having the ground beneath its feet collapse, Ivan condensed the water particles in the air to form a large, sharp icicle to pierce the giant below it.
As the icicle fell towards the giant, it was swatted away by the giant's large hand. The giant was now enraged, it stepped out of the pothole and rushed towards Ivan.
Ivan frantically casted a ice beam, hoping it would slow the enraged giant down, but it had no affect. Just as Ivan was accepting his fate the giant was stopped just in front of Ivan.
Not one to waste such a perfect opportunity, Ivan impaled the giant with an icicle, not killing it yet, then forced the icicle to grow more spikes within the giant, using its blood to make them.
The extra spikes destroy the enteral organs of the giant, then broke through its skin to the outside. Ivan put away a glass tube and looked at the giant he just slain.
Ivan knew he just killed a living being, he even tried to justify himself, saying he tried to kill you first, and o was trying to protect my self. But as Ivan looks at the many spikes that protrude from the giants body, he couldn't stop feeling guilty.
"Well that was an interesting fight, I am glad to see your getting stronger, but we still had to save in the end." Said Greg happily, "You probably can't handle the blood on your hands though." Said Sterling with a mocking tone.
"Why did I have to kill this man?!" Asked Ivan furiously at his captors, " Stop being emotional, he only had a family that looked forward to his return, also we did this for a test." Said Sterling smirkingly, "Don't listen to Sterling, but he is right, we did do this for a test and we do one every other day." Said Greg looking annoyingly at Sterling.
