Chương 9: 9
The sound of Megan calling out to him caught him off guard and he freezes for a split second before he immediately rushes out of the office. He sighs as he sprints outside as fast as he could.
He had not seen her for half a year now. He had never even gotten the chance to thank her for saving his life. He had thought about her for so long and now he was seeing her again.
"Roman!"
The guards held her back as she desperately tried to get to him. Megan was so sure he had gotten shot again that when she saw him walking out of the room she started crying tears of joy and relief.
Roman's breath hitches slightly as he stares at her. He feels a flicker of happiness within him seeing the woman that he cares for. She calls for him and he stares at her as his eyes lock with hers. His face slightly softens as he glances back over towards the guards."Could you please let her through?" he says with an assertive tone but still holding a calm and collected expression.
His gaurd let her through and Megan fixed her clothes pulling down her skin tight mini dress. She wipes her tears as she slowly approached him.
She suddenly felt so emberassed for causing a scene. She didn't understand if it was the alcohol that made her act so emotional or not. All she knew is that when she saw him she was overwhelmed by joy seeing that he was okay.
"Hi." She said with a shaky voice.
He stares at her as she gets closer and his face softens slightly. He wants to reach out and wipe away her remaining tears with the back of his hand but he didn't want to move too quickly. So instead he speaks softly with a warm smile.
"Hey..."
She smiles back at him, "You're okay."
He blinks for a moment and a small grin shows up on his face as he nods silently.
"Yeah...I'm okay...thanks to you." He looks at her and the warmth in his gaze is visible as he stares at her intently.
"I thought you got shot again...when I heard the gunshot." She admitted as she looked down, "I am sorry I ran here like a mad woman." She forced a laugh out although she knew she was so scared when she ran to come see him.
He shakes his head silently and he smiles softly as he glances down at her. His face softens even more and his eyes flicker ever so slightly as she apologizes for something he found indearing. He smiles softly and he looks back at her. "There's no need to be sorry...I don't blame you. I would've done the same thing if the roles were reversed."
She looks up at him, "I wouldn't be anywhere near guns."
He smiles softly and he chuckles slightly, "I know...but still...we both seem to have the tendency to worry about one another."
She smiles feeling her cheeks burn up at his words.
He sighs softly and he gazes at her with a curious look,"Can I ask you a question?"
"Yeah sure." She answered wondering what he wanted to ask her.
He looks down at her and he smiles softly before he speaks.
"How have you been while I was gone?"
She looks up at him, "I don't know...I missed taking care of You." Megan didn't want to lie. That she didn't think of him at all. She actually missed him even if he was there for a few days.
He stares at her as she admits that she missed taking care of him. His face softens even more and he smiles softly. I must admit...I missed having you take care of me as well..." He exhales softly as he stares at her with a gentle and comforting expression.
His men are stunned hearing him talk to someone so gently. They were used to him being fierce and serious so this was all new for them.
Megan smiles looking down shyly, "I thought you'd forget about me."
He shakes his head softly and his voice became gentle, "Never...I can't forget you..." He stares at her as his eyes flicker for a split second. He smiles warmly at her, she was a comforting sight for his eyes to behold after being away for so long. He sighs softly as his voice became calm and soft, "You were always there for me...you took care of me...how could I forget someone like that?"
She smiles but when Apollo walks out of the room and sees her Megan stops smiling.
"Brother. We are heading to the VIP area." Apollo looks over at Megan, "You're here?" He was genuinely shocked to see her again. He and thought she was out of their lives forever.
Jack sees her and smiles, "Wow. So you are the beauty that made Roman run out of our meeting?"
Megan smiles feeling out of place, "Hey."
Roman glances over at Apollo with a look of annoyance and he glares at Jack who was clearly trying to flirt with Megan. Roman doesn't like the fact that he's trying to hit on her right in front of his face. His jealousy is slowly starting to surface inside of him.
"I am guessing you won't join us right Roman?" Teased Jack who kept eyeing Megan shamelessly.
Roman's face grows more stoic as his jealousy grows more apparent. He glances over at Jack who was clearly trying to entice Megan and he grits his teeth trying to keep back his irritation. He doesn't like the way Jack is looking at her and he shakes his head with a frown as he glances over and looks at Megan.
"No I don't think I will join you..."
Megan looks at him suprised, "I hope I didn't interrupt anything important."
Jack laughs shaking his head, "No don't worry dear. We were gonna watch chicks with huge tits make out...you know that stuff."
Megan is stunned as Roman shot Jack a glare before turning to her.
He shakes his head silently and he keeps a calm and collected expression but it's obvious that he's irritated. He didn't get upset with Megan but rather he is irritated with Jack. He turns his gaze away from her and he glances over at Jack with a look of annoyance. He sighs silently but it is obvious that he is holding back his anger and his jealousy back at Jack is slowly reaching its boiling point.
