Chương 14: Ch. 7 Part 2

The villagers were confused hearing that again in such polite words, even the village head and doctor Huang had looks of doubt and confused. Aunt Zhang was so anxious too but only Yu ger and the twins who ran back to his side looked carefree and calm. Kids being calm in such situation was understandable but seeing how calm Yu ger was, some looked at him with pity and sympathy thinking that he has resigned to his faith. "by doctor Lin do you mean Lin Yu'an? he went to sell herbs in the town today, anything the matter?" Yu ger asked and inquired his voice not polite yet not overbearing.

The clerk looked very excited when Yu ger confirmed, he almost wanted to run and hug Yu ger's thigh but remembering the gender of Yu ger he reluctantly stopped, the villagers looked at him more confused noticing his excitement. "yes, yes, i am a clerk from doctor Xia's medicine shop where doctor Lin came to sell his herbs a while ago. Infact he's still at the medicine shop, I'm here on an errand for him to give you a letter, he would not be able to return him tonight" Yu ger was shocked, he only told aunt Zhang and her family of him being literate so he didn't know how Lin Yu'an came to know about it, but he still nodded and took the letter handed to him, he unfolded the letter to read it's content. 'won't be home tonight, I'm taking care of a patient at doctor Xia's medicine shop' that was what was written to him and there was another part of the letter separated by a line with Ali'an and Aluo written at the top under the line.

Yu ger gave the letter to the kids who looked happy to read thinking that their father wrote to them too, since Lin Yu'an knew that he was literate then he must've known that he was teaching the kids too that's why he wrote a letter for them too. Well since he knows and now the villagers have come to know, there was no reason to hide again. "what did the letter say?" the anxious looking aunt Zhang couldn't help but inquired, Yu ger shook his head "nothing much, just that he'll stay in doctor Xia's medicine shop for the night" he comforted her. The villagers who thought they were coming to watch Yu ger and Lin Yu'an's joke all felt displeased seeing that nothing like that happened, they hated Yu ger and Lin Yu'an more, the only one relieved was the village head and somewhat doctor Huang.

Yu ger started to become uncomfortable sensing the clerk's hot gaze on him, "is there something more?" he asked the clerk who was dazed admiring Lin Yu'an and making up stories in mind 'doctor Lin must've not wanted to be disturbed that's why he's leaving in such a rundown house, maybe he is in seclusion! what a great person' his thoughts was full of admiring. Seeing Yu ger's discomfort the clerk coughed dryly and apologize "ah brother Yu, i can call you that right?" the clerk called out and asked. Before Yu ger made an attempt to reject he continued "brother Yu you should've have seen doctor Lin worked today, ah! I'm so envious of you, to be able to marry such a great and talented doctor!"

Yu ger "......."

He pursed his lips and looked at the clerk blabbered about after making up his mind himself. The villagers had looks of doubts and disbelieve, everyone had doubts except Yu ger. "what do you mean by doctor Lin? Lin Yu'an isn't a doctor but a waste of our village!" Juyan retorted and the villagers nodded agreeing with his words making the clerk so angry and his face blackened.

"what did Lin Yu'an do to make you call him a doctor?" doctor Huang who was quiet the whole time asked. The clerk smiled mysteriously, he suddenly had the look of a narrator "you should have seen it, today a person was brought to our medicine house with a wide cut on his stomach. Ah everyone thought he was as good as dead and even did doctor Xia, i mean how can a person with an opened stomach with his organs showing out survive?! That was what we thought until doctor Lin stepped forward, like you all we didn't believe in him too. But he put back the person's organs and sew the cut closed with a needle and thread and applied with some herbs and bandaged the wound. He saved the person, even doctor Xia didn't believe it until he checked the person's pulse, as i am talking now the person is still in our medicine store and being taken care of by doctor Lin himself, so doctor Lin won't be coming home tonight and that's why I was sent to deliver the letter to brother Yu!" after informing them of Lin Yu'an's greatness leaving out some parts he looked at them gloating and smiled brightly to Yu ger. Exclaims sounded one after another, they were still having a hard time believing. Even Yu ger was very shocked this time around, aunt Zhang had a look of utterly disbelieve.

"how can that be true, isn't that an obvious lie! How can a person with a cut opened stomach be saved?!" doctor Huang asked showing his doubts and the villagers nodded. "ai, i thought why would an horse carriage coming looking for Lin Yu'an such a waste, isn't it that you're both birds of the same feathers, lying and deceiving people. At least tell a lie which would be believed." Juyan retorted "yes" "so, so," the villagers whispered showing doubts. The clerk's face was so red from anger "what do you mean it's a lie, i witnessed it and so did lots of the town people! Doctor Lin even charged 10,000 taels of silver just for treating that person. Whoever doesn't believe me can follow me to the town to inquire about it!" he voiced about angrily. "I'll go with you" doctor Huang said "I'll go too" said the village head. The clerk saluted to Yu ger again before leaving in the carriage with doctor Huang and the village head.

Seeing that the excitement was over the villagers also left in twos and threes talking and gossiping about the information received. "Yu ger... do you think it's true?" aunt Zhang asked doubtful but Yu ger who believed in his heart didn't give her a positive answer "well let's wait for the village head and doctor Huang first, why don't you go back now it's starting to get dark now." He comforted her and sent her away before turning back and heading to the room with the kids behind his tail "who are you? Are you my saviour, or was it just a coincidence for you to be here?" he asked underneath his voice with complicated emotionas.

"you mean little brother Yu'an did that? since when was he a doctor?" Ye Xiong asked his second in command of his gangs. "are you sure about what you're saying, Xiong Lang?" Ye Xiong asked the second in command he called Xiong Lang. Xiong Lang hearing his question walked from the door and took a seat in front of Ye Xiong, he poured himself wine and downed it all at a go "ah! this wine is great!.... Dage would i lie to you? i also thought it was a lie when the boys told me so I went myself to inquire. Now as we're speaking the people in the town gave your sworn brother a new name, 'saint and miracle doctor' that's what he is called now in town. The folks say there's a miracle doctor in town, and a lot of people heard him speak the language of the foreigner he saved." Xiong Lang informed. Ye Xiong went mute in astonishment and shock thinking whether he brought a wolf in sheep clothing into his gamble house.

But he wasn't sure about that, if everything said was true then being the sworn brother of Lin Yu'an had its own advantages and disadvantages, and Ye Xiong didn't want to anything that may rule out the advantages side when he still didn't know where Lin Yu'an's stand was. "ah dage before even that, you should have heard that he thrashed Xiao Gou to the extent of almost disfiguring him. Well that night that sly bunny and his squad also came back all beaten up by your little brother, you should have seen the look on that sly bunny's face when he was told that dage made Lin Yu'an the second boss here.. hehe!" Xiong Lang had a satisfied look on his face. Ye Xiong was still quietly sitting as if thinking about something as he drummed his fingers on the table.

"Hmmm, tell Xiao Gou and that sly bunny and his followers that i said they should go and apologize to little brother Yu'an as soon as possible, they'll all be working under little brother Yu'an directly from now. If they refuse tell them to go find a new gang to join!" Ye Xiong made his decision and Xiong Lang nodded in understanding.

At the Quing family's restaurant too shopkeeper Quing was silently listening to the new talks of the town brought to him by the little waiter, he felt it was exaggerating but thinking of how a lot of the diners were also talking about the same thing he had to believe the truth in that matter. He couldn't help but think that now all wealthy families from both this town and the county town would all run to please and scurry favors with Lin Yu'an, "look for a suitable gift and take it to him, just say that i wish to congratulate him" he instructed the little waiter who nodded in understanding knowing not to underestimate Lin Yu'an now. Lin Yu'an who was being missed everywhere was in a carefree mood taking care of his patient and wasn't aware that he was the talk everywhere.
