Chương 64: Chapter 64 - Did You Have Fun?

"Can I talk to you for a second. Its about what Sol did."

I knew I should have avoided the mall today. The day already was dragging but this was the icing on the cake.

'When did this day go downhill?' It all started soon after Dean left my house. We were just joking between one another about our mutual dislike for Felix and Sol when it dawned on me that the longer he stayed the harder it would be to sneak him out.

"Shoot, ok Dean here is what we will do. I will have you hide in the room next door which is my old study room. Stay in there until I give you the signal to race downstairs and head out of here."

He looked at me incredulously. "How will you give me the signal?" I pulled out my phone and called him. "Stay on the line and leave when I tell you, trust me as nice as my Dad is he is a act now ask questions later guy when it comes to situations like this. He does NOT play when it comes to my safety and a man who he has no knowledge of even being here will raise flags for him."

"Well its not like I had any worse walks of shame." Dean teased himself as he sauntered over to grab his things. I pulled at his shirt to stop him. "Whatever you hear don't come back or look back just run when you hear me say 'Ow'."

His eyes widened and he looked ready to debate me but before he could say a word I walked over to my desk and grabbed a vase of flowers I did not care for and smashed it to the ground.

Almost immediately my parents, who were downstairs called out for me. "CELESTE!" I ushered Dean away as he stumbled into the room next door. Rushed footsteps were soon heard. I placed my phone on my desk face down praying Dean could hear me.

I harshly pinched my inner thigh which forced tears into my eyes. I plopped on the floor face down and carefully placed my hands over the glass. "Honey what the hell happened?!" My dad was the first on the room and then my mom followed right after. Once they were deep enough in I groaned out a large yelp of pain.

"Ughhhh, ahhhhh, Owwwwwww." My dad immediately brushed away the larger glass pieces and used his strength to pull me up from the ground and carry me away from the shards. "I am sorry I lost my footing and slipped and since my flowers were on the table it fell too."

I sobbed and forced any tears to drip down my face. It was the best way to keep my parents fully distracted so Dean could leave. At this time in the morning they would be in the kitchen which had no clear view of the entrance to the house. So they more than likely did not see Deans car.

I peeked over at the door which my mom conveniently left wide open and Dean stood there looking at me in amusement. I wanted to punch him in the face. He winked at me and blew me a kiss before leaving silently.

'I should have let my dad maul him.' I angrily thought to myself. My mom took over and cleaned my hands and feet from any glass while my dad grabbed the broom in the cleaning closet down the hall to throw away the glass.

"Honey you need to be more careful, thankfully none of the glass embedded too deeply."

I simply nodded and kept silent. After a long lecture on being more careful and moving my other glass and porcelain decorations away from any edges they finally let me be.

Alone again I decided to go to the mall to pick up another vase and also pick up the order I was asked to bring for Rebeccas bachelorette. She was a fan of silk so I got our families silk designer to custom make pajama sets for all the girls invited as well as get specialized sexy lingerie sets which for her wedding night was in her opinion 'a must.'

My designer sent the items to her store at the mall so I could verify the quality and ensure my specifications were met. That way if any mistakes were noted she can make the corrections right away.

I dressed comfortably and picked up the pieces. I was about to go to the pottery store to look at vases when I saw Mrs. Toni Carter. 'You're kidding.' I rushed out of the store and walked briskly to the parking lot. Just when I thought I was home free a strong force grabbed my wrist.

"Honey good to see you! What brings you to the mall today?" She had an iron grip, I had no way of leaving. "Ahh just picking up some things I needed for the wedding. I would stay and talk more but I really have to get going my guest is waiting for me." She kept her grip before shoving someone into me.

It was her son. And here we are as he too prevented me from leaving and asked about Sol. This was getting annoying. I have no idea what made both mother and son think they are entitled to my time and attention.

"I want to apologize on Sols behalf. I want you to know that she will not share what she learned. I just ask for leniency this one time. I know your last words to me before. I don't intend going back on my words, for the sake of our history can you let it slide?"

I just stared at him. I could not even see what I even found attractive about Felix. He was pathetic. "What makes you so special? Or even her? I have no interest in either of you. Unlike some people I have more important things to attend to than some measly girl or her antics. If you will excuse me, I am leaving." Hitting his hand away from me as I shoved past him.

I felt liberated. Before I could not even find the words to say but now it flowed from my mouth so easily. It was not intimidating facing him. As I heard Felix call for me I saw a man waiting at my car. It was Dante, he waved at me and walked up to meet me. He took the bags from my hand and gave me a large hug. "I have been waiting for you. Did you have fun?"
