Chương 41: Helping Eli &Ultimate Support Ability

" This concludes our tour, gentlemen," Eli said, arriving at Tyson's new office. He was giving a tour of the new military base in DC for Atlas. Tyson was in charge of training recruits for team Ghost and Black Ops. Ghost and Woods, respectively, headed up both groups. Eli had managed to get both military and technology development contract work for the teams.
"Thanks for setting this all up," Tyson said, looking at the fully decorated office. He then started placing a couple of personal items & photos around the office.
"While he plays office maker, can I have a moment in private?" Trey asked. Eli nodded, taking him to his office that was down the hall.
"So what's this about? If it's about what power system I've chosen, I still haven't decided yet." Eli said.
"No, not that. You and everyone else have until the end of the year meeting anyway. This is about you." Trey explained. After their demonstration, Desmond & Trey gave everyone until the end of the year to finalize which powers they wanted. This was of course after getting yelled at by Jamie & their mother for a couple of hours. Artemis was able to get them off their back by suggesting moving training to OASIS. In there, they could battle as hard as they wanted without damaging themselves or the environment.
"Tell me, Eli, are you happy?" Trey asked. He was met with a rare bewildered expression on Eli's usually emotionless face.
"What brought this on?" Eli questioned back.
"Don't answer my question with a question," Trey sighed before continuing.
"Price. He told me you're always working. Everyone on the combat team has offered to do something with you, but you always decline. Even the council said you rarely show up for their poker night." Trey said.
"Remind me to kill him. Though that hardly means there's something wrong with me. I don't remember socializing being a part of our contract." Eli countered.
"It's not, but I want people under me to be happy. Eli, you're the only one that's alone. Red, Artemis, Desmond, and I all have families. Jamie has her obsession with Desmond along with me, by extension. The combat team has been brother-in-arms for years. My brethren have each other. Hell, even Edgar golfs with his CEO buddies once a week. Be honest with me. Is there something wrong? Do you miss Olivia, perhaps?" Trey sincerely asked. They sat in silence for a while before Eli cursed under his breath.
"Of course, I miss my daughter, but I still wouldn't want you to bring her here. It's not just the safety element. Olivia has her own life to live. It still infuriates me that she chose that insufferable man-child for a companion. However, just like her life, it is not my decision to make it's hers. If I brought her here, I'd rob her of that chance to be her own woman. Now as to how I feel about this job, it is atonement for my many sins. I failed at being a husband, a father, and at being command for B6-13. (In his universe, he led a super-secret US Black Ops team. They did a lot of bad and unsanctioned work to keep the peace.) Your plan for this world is something I know I can do." Eli explained.
"Once again, you still avoided answering my question. Look, man, I don't care what your reasons are for following me, but I do care if you're happy doing this job. What's the point of doing all this if the people working for me are miserable? I know you are too proud to admit it, so why don't you listen to my suggestion? I have an idea that could kill three birds with one stone." Trey suggested.
"Fine, let's hear it," Eli said begrudgingly.
"So you know my music career helps me earn a lot of points for my system. However, I can't keep doing it forever, and I have more important things to do with my time. Plus, there are a lot of songs that require a female voice instead of a male one. There are three girls I have in mind that can take my place. Though I'll have to give some singing talents to one of them. I also have plans for each of them to join my spy team in the future if they are up for it. Each has a different skill set for that kind of work. They each also had rough childhoods. This is where you come in. I want you to adopt all three of them." Trey explained with a smile.
"Why make me adopt them? Your plan can work without me." Eli said unconvinced.
"One, you need family. I know you and Olivia had your battles in the past, but she turned out to be a phenomenal woman. I think you can do the same for them. Two, they need you. From what I know, each of them had very rough childhoods. Two of them are orphans, and the other was raised under a terrible empire. Starting a new life with sisters and a good father with be great for them. Finally, I know I could mind control them to do exactly what I want, but I don't want to get in the habit of doing so. Just because I can doesn't mean I should. My plan works better without doing so." Trey said. Eli responded, taking a long sigh.
"So, what are their names?" Eli asked, agreeing to become a father again.
"Foxxy Cleopatra, Michiko Malandro, and Rakshata Chawla." Trey said with a grin.
Elsewhere Desmond was at his apartment finalizing his next choice of powers. He had been saving his points for almost a year now. Sadly, he'd probably have to do it again for even longer after this purchase. He was hellbent on making significant purchases at the tectonic tier. Most of those start at the 50 million plus range, and the main one he wanted was at the peak of the tier as a single ability. He grumbled at how expensive everything was becoming before calling out to the system.

Despite most of his purchase being locked, Desmond was thrilled. The Force, his new Kekkei Genkai, and Iron Man armors would give him a greater variety of combat options. Everything else that was locked would unlock at soon he hit the strength requirement. The biggest boon was the support skills he got this time. Aether could fuse with any weapon, boost its power, and change it into something else. He could have a lightsaber become a great sword if he wanted now.
Pockets would work in tandem with the hypercube. Together they would be his ultimate utility belt, so he was ready for any situation. The crown jewel being Entertainment Materialization. He could bring anything from a virtual environment into the real world. The only limitation was that he was locked to get things from his tier or lower, but it was still a broken ability. Desmond was more determined than ever before to make more games. Think of it Storage Rings, Master Sword, Ultima Key Blade, Blades of Chaos, Halo Energy Sword, Digimon, Ebony, Ivory, and more could be in his hands one day. The best part about it was it would be totally free!
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Desmond laughed with a giant evil smile at his new powers.

Legxndary First off, I appreciate all the feedback I got from this site and others. Many of you have expressed your dislike for the clones in the story. You also raised some ethical questions about Desmond becoming Trey's brother, making clones, etc. Which really hurt to see because I had some big plans for them. I initially had a plan of having three clones plus the MC. Each would have a role and type of powers they would focus on etc. For example, one would focus on space with tech-based powers so I could write more about the DC universe outside of Earth. I hoped to do so to cover all aspects of the universe, but it seems most people hate the clones. It's the one thing almost everyone mentioned in critiques for the story. Alright, rant over on sad I am about that. I've decided I am working on two new projects. I will, however, will not be abandoning this story. I plan to finish this section of the novel that follows mostly Superman the Animated series content/Trey through ages 1-10 or so. After that, I will either release new projects or continue this story going into the Justice League era of the story I always planned.
