Chương 43: Do Alicorns Dream Of Magic Sheep
Rio POV
I am piloting my Eta-2 as I move between capital ships. My goal simple assassinate Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The plan was to ambush their fleet in transit to the battlefield on Bestine. The ambush has been working so far as my ships have destroyed 2 Venators and numerous smaller ships. However, my fleet had also lost several ships and I was now leading my starfighter squadron to take out another Venator to draw out the Jedi. It seemed I needed to change my strategy as I saw both my targets heading in my direction.
Rio: "T9 take the rest of the squadron and continue on the attack run, I will handle the Jedi."
T9: "Roger Roger."
The rest of my squadron continues on as I break off to intercept the Jedi. As I am about to fire on Skywalker I see a small wisp of purple smoke. Before I think too hard about it Skywalker suddenly changes position causing my shots to miss. My Starfighter is then hit by a stray shot from another fighter causing my ship to be damaged and unable to fight. I attempt to retreat to one of the nearby ships. My ship gets hit from behind by Obi-Wan causing me to lose control of my fighter and crash into the hangar. Once I crash I receive a communication from Dooku.
Dooku: "My apprentice I have been told you are losing the battle."
Rio: "Yes, but I can still pull a victory from this. If I can just deploy a few spare Munificents I can win."
Dooku looks displeased.
Dooku: "What of Skywalker and Kenobi?"
Rio: "They have followed me into a ship. I can defeat them if I call some droids to assist."
Dooku: "No, you cannot defeat the both of them together. You have failed your mission the Republic has already sent additional reinforcements. I have ordered your fleet to retreat."
Rio: "Master I can still win. Just give me more time."
Dooku: "I am afraid you are out of time. You have failed me for the last time, now you will die."
The communication ends and I am filled with fear as I realize what is happening. I check my ship and see it is inoperable. I sense the Jedi approaching and I think of what to do.
'I only have one chance to survive, kill the Jedi and get to an escape pod or steal one of their ships.'
I quickly jump out of my starfighter and ignite my lightsaber.
Anakin: "About time we caught you. You will pay for all the Jedi you murdered, assassin."
Kenobi: "Surrender and you will not be harmed."
I get into form Form II Makashi and prepare myself for a very difficult battle. I try to put Skywalker on the defensive and Obi-Wan on the offensive to try and gain as much of an advantage as possible. As I attempt to strike at Anakin the ship shakes causing me to miss and become open to a counterattack. I try to adjust to avoid the attack but I feel slow for some reason and Anakin cuts off my right arm.
Rio: "AHHHH!"
I use the force to quickly push everyone away and attempt to retreat into the ship as without an arm I am not going to be able to win. Before I make it far I am thrown to the ground as the ship starts to fall apart. I am hit by debris and my left leg is injured as I continue to limp away. Once I reach the escape pods I see all of them have already been launched. I pause for a second realizing that I was doomed.
'Great, now what?'
BOOM
I see the hallway behind me had exploded leaving me trapped in a room with smoke filling the area. I start coughing and I eventually collapse. After an unknown amount of time, I wake up and find myself in a place that looks familiar.
Rio: "Ugh, where am I?"
???: "You are in my throne room."
I look up and see a man that makes me nearly crap myself in fear.
Rio: "V-V-Valkorion!"
Standing before me is the Eternal Emperor in what I now recognize as the Eternal Throne room over Zakuul.
Valkorion: "Yes, you have been brought before me so we could talk. One immortal to another. We have many similarities you and I. We both want tranquility and peace."
Out of the corner of my eye, I see a purple mist. When I turn to look at it I find nothing.
'Strange.'
Valkorion: "You have potential. Potential greater than any force wielder before you. I can forge you into a vessel of supreme power. All that you must do is kneel and become my new Wrath."
Valkorion looks directly into my eyes and when I look back I see fear and superiority. I think hard about what to do and decide to do a very foolish thing.
Rio: "I refuse. I cannot follow the path you intend to take. Your vision of the future is flawed and I would rather not get involved."
I see his expression sour and I start to feel the disappointment and pity he feels towards me.
Valkorion: "A shame. If you will not join me now perhaps you will after your loved ones perish."
My eyes widen at his threat and I try to keep my rage in check as I think of a way out of here.
Valkorion: "If you will not kneel then I will have the first sacrifice brought in. You will experience hatred and anger towards me. You know deep inside you cannot succeed, there are no limits to my power. But you do not need to stand against me. You can kneel. If you do none of your family will be hurt."
Rio: "You said it yourself we are both immortal. If we fought we would be fighting for eternity. Eventually, you will be ended by me and I will go on."
Valkorion: "You mistake me for your own weakness, I do not end."
Rio: "Yet you have been vanquished before, I am confident in my power to do the same to you."
Valkorion: "You can have an arsenal of super weapons, mastery of the Force, and all the allies in the galaxy. It will not be enough, it never will be. Nothing will stop me."
Rio: "I will."
Valkorion: "My life spans millennia, legions have risen to test me. I may not be able to permanently kill you but you are but a child in comparison to me."
Valkorion picks me up in the Force and slams me to the ground.
Valkorion: "Kneel before the Dragon Of Zakuul!"
Rio: "Never!"
I attempt to get up and fight him but before I can recover I fall to the ground in pain as I am electrocuted.
Valkorion: "You are a blind insect. You will break as I have broken others before you."
Eventually, I fainted after not being able to handle any more pain.
Rio: "AHHH!"
I look around and find myself in my bedroom. It takes me a few minutes to fully realize what just happened.
'It was a nightmare? But How? I felt pain, you can't feel things in dreams. Not in such excruciating detail.'
I look at myself and see I am covered in sweat and I decide to go clean myself up and think about what just happened.
'Hmm, the nightmare was too real. I haven't had a nightmare for a long time and now it was nightmares based on my life in the Star Wars universe. It wasn't a vision or at least I don't think it was. Wait, I vaguely recall a strange purple mist. I remember it because when I saw it out of the corner of my eye it felt wrong like it wasn't part of the dream. Let's check the bestiary for anything similar to what I saw.'
I spend several hours going over different creatures of nightmares. Eventually, I find something that fits and yet confuses me beyond belief.
{The Tantabus: A creature of nightmares that feeds off the negative emotions of those it has infected. Most often caused by being cursed or targeted by a dark magic user. Can spread like a pathogen by dreaming of others. One can avoid being infected by not being asleep while the afflicted is asleep. Once infected must be destroyed before it gains the power to manifest in the real world. If the Tantabus manifests in the real world one must use a highly complex Yrden trap in conjunction with an attack of numerous 10th Tier or above Holy Magic Attacks.}
'How could I have been infected by the Tantabus? Who would be patient one in this case or was I targeted and if so how? I haven't really messed around with the Dream Realm but I guess I will need to learn quickly before this thing infects others. Let's see if the bestiary has any recommendations on how to defeat it more easily.'
{ To defeat the Tantabus the afflicted must be kept calm. A Yrden array can be built around the sleeping target to prevent the Tantabus from leaving the afflicted body. Caution should be used as the Yrden array will only work once per afflicted. Beyond Yrden one can use Holy Element magic to weaken the Tantabus. The easiest way to eliminate a Tantabus is if the afflicted attacks the creature in a lucid dream and uses the mind's natural powers to kill the Tantabus. }
'Okay, so basically I just need to make myself have a lucid dream and then confront the creature. I can use the Yrden array to ensure it can't escape while I kill it.'
I set up the Yrden array and tell everyone to not go to sleep for the next several hours while I defeat a dream demon.
'Okay, everything is set up, now to induce a lucid dream.'
Once I start my lucid dream I make sure to create wide open plains with the sun overhead.
Rio: "Come out Tantabus. I know you are here."
I spot the Tantabus in the corner of my vision and turn to it. I start imagining what I will use to defeat my foe. I dreamed up something I figured would be the best chance at destroying my enemy. A man of great power in the mystic arts.
Dr. Fate: "Return from whence you came, foul creature!"
The Tantabus creates something that I did not want to have to fight.
Bill Cipher: "Oh this gonna be great!"
'Great now there are 2 dream demons.'
Rio: "Fate take care of Cipher I will handle the Tantabus."
Dr. Fate: "Very well, come demon it's time to meet your fate."
With that line, Dr. Fate blasts Bill with a golden beam of magic. I take the opportunity to transform myself into my Alicorn form and imagine and equip the Staff Of Magnus hoping it would help to weaken the Tantabus. I also summon another ally this time it's the most dangerous thing I could think of immediately.
Kirby: "Poyo"
The Tantabus pauses and then recoils in fear before creating another pink monster.
Majin Buu: "RAAA!"
Rio: "That was a dumb summon on your part. Kirby destroy that pink imposter."
Kirby: "Poyo!"
With that order, I had finally closed the distance and activated the Staff. It seemed to work fairly well as I saw the Tantabus shrinking slightly. I kept getting closer before I used every imaginable magic spell I could think of.
'Come on just a bit more.'
Suddenly I sense a presence to my left and look in the direction. What I see is a large mass of tentacles. I freak out for a second before realizing I shouldn't have done that as the Tantabus takes the negative emotions and grows strong enough to summon another creature. What it summons is both gross and creepy.
Abeloth: "Freedom at last!"
I try to keep my mind as neutral as possible but the woman made of tentacles and teeth with a mouth the size of her head is making it very difficult. I decide that this needs to end quickly so I get on my knees and start praying to the one god who seems like an all-around nice creature. I summon a beam of white light that pierces the heavens.
Rio: "Arceus in Heaven, Smite this Sinner now, and have this foul creature boiling in liquid magma for eternity!"
Arceus: "K."
A massive beam of red light blasts everything save myself and the other summons. What remains afterward is just a small wisp of purple smoke that I quickly run over to and annihilate with Holy Magic.

This ending scene was heavily inspired by the Youtube video 'when your Pokémon are Over leveled' by ThatOneGuy'sAnimations. I suggest watching it as it is more funny in the video than in my story.

Rio: "Thanks everyone for your help. Even if you aren't exactly real I appreciate the help nonetheless."
Once I make sure the Tantabus is really dead I leave the dream and wake up. Once I wake up I get a notification.

'Nice another level, but I still wonder how I got infected by the Tantabus. I will need to start dream walking so I can be better prepared if I have to deal with this again.'
I sent the all-clear to everyone so they knew I dealt with the problem. I check the time and see it's now the next day.
'Well, I suppose I should go make breakfast.'

I hope you enjoyed this attempt at writing a nightmare and subsequent dream battle. Many of the summons in the dream were because I thought either side would be even at any given time. Also, Kirby is one scary creature, too OP please nerf. Gacha will be next chapter so give any suggestions you have. Until next time Ciao.
