12.04% Beast Mode: A System's Guide To Heroics / Chapter 10: //10// Go ahead and die then

Chương 10: //10// Go ahead and die then

Arsenal hardened his heart while walking through the crowd, their mourning and wailing were too loud to ignore, but he still held onto the fact that he was going to get them out of this mess soon.

He turned around a few times wondering if he'd see Ohana again.

"Such a shame that she didn't even care." He thought to himself,

"Her fake sympathy was even worse." He scoffed.

Slowly, Arsenal made his way to the front of the arena where these men were locked behind bars. There were a total of one hundred and seventy-two men locked up in an open facility with nothing but metal bars separating them from their families.

The Agents who stood in front of the bars stopped their families from getting closer by threatening to kill anyone who tried to, and the numerous dead bodies on the floor were enough warning.

"Can't risk that," Arsenal muttered as he looked at the bodies, it was obvious that they had been stabbed with a knife, so what were the chances that they wouldn't kill him too if he tried?

The only thing that came to his mind was to find a good way to call an Agent's attention, but how could he accomplish that with all the noise?

He left his position and began moving toward the far end of where two Agents were guarding the gates, and waved to get their attention, but those two did not move a muscle. They thought he was one of those family members who had come to beg for the release of thier loved ones.

"These people," He sighed,

"System can I know the strength enough to defend myself from them? I don't want it to be as violent as the first one."

[ All that is for you to control, like I told you before, used to it. ]

"I don't want to waste coins because it only lasts ten minutes, I might need that for later, what will I do now?" He wondered, standing there like a confused villager.

All of a sudden, he spotted a familiar figure from the corner of his eyes, and he turned to his left to see Ohana also trying to get an Agent's attention by going past the restricted area where many had lost their lives.

"What is she doing?" he panicked and quickly started forcing his way through the crowd. There was nothing romantic about his actions, as it was driven by a desire to keep her safe.

But by the time he got there, it was almost too late because an Agent had grabbed her, and had lifted his swords to strike. However, Arsenal stopped him without a second thought.

"Let her go, it's me that you want," He said, yet another line from a great movie that he couldn't get off his head.

"I'm the one who killed the Agents," He added, and this statement alone drew a lot of attention among the Agents and even the families that were present here.

"You don't believe me?" Arsenal asked because the Agent only stared at him without responding.

"Let Ohana go…

"No," Ohana interjected,

"I was the reason why he did that."

"Enough talk!"

This was the first time an Agent had said a word here, he quickly turned to the others next to him and signaled them to capture both Ohana and Arsenal.

"Leave the lady out of this, she did not do anything." Arsenal's words fell on deaf ears, because both of them were taken out of the arena immediately.

"Release the men! They have seen a savior. A very young one at that haha."

*******

"Why did you do that!" Arsenal yelled at Ohana after they had been thrown into the back of a tiny bus designed for prisoners.

Contrary to his expectations, the people of Gnomon also have advanced technologies just like Earth, but no one could assess it except those in higher positions. Even the Agents were only allowed to have guns and trucks to move around with, nothing more.

"None of your business," she replied, taking Arsenal by surprise. How could someone as scared as Ohana become so hard-hearted all of a sudden?

"None of my business?" He asked,

"I blame myself for trying to keep you safe, you could have died, why are you so ungrateful?"

Ohana rolled back her eyes disdainfully, it was difficult to ignore someone who wouldn't stop talking, "Look, you and I don't have to talk," she scoffed and rested her back on the window.

Arsenal sighed in frustration, the young lady that had been forced into his life seemed to have become a problem and he didn't know how to deal with her.

"Women are the same everywhere," He mumbled and turned his head in another direction.

"By the way, what were you doing outside on a restricted day?" He asked her, but Ohana remained silent. She made it clear with her behaviors that she didn't want to talk, yet Arsenal couldn't stop being talkative.

"Fine, go ahead and die then," He scoffed,

"I don't care, at least no one has asked me to save you again."
