Chương 1: Prologue: How it all started

"Sorcerer King, Ainz Ooal Gown, THIS IS THE END FOR YOU !" shouted Tsar, also known as the platinum dragon lord. The dragon lord gathered all the allies he could gather to launch a surprise attack and also to use the world item: [ Absolute Purification ]. The world item is particularly useful and effective against undead beings such as Shaltear and Ainz.

Few hours ago:

Nazarick was on its latest conquest to the last continent far away from the lands and seas, the floating castle. Ainz was secretly debating whether to bring any of the guardians or even the maids with him on his journey to a new continent. Going off alone seems to have made the guardians uneasy but Ainz wanted to go by himself just like the first time when he stepped out of Nazarick but was stopped by Demiruge.

"Enough ! I WILL HEAR NO COMPLAINS AND I WILL GO ALONE, IS THAT CLEAR?!" Ainz proclaimed and shut off all forms of protest by the floor guardians in the throne room. Albedo was still worried and asked " Ainz sama, forgive this servant for asking but venturing out into the unknown is very dangerous for a supreme being, if you are in danger, we cannot act as your shields and-,", was interrupted by an angry Ainz, " ARE YOU QUESTIONING ME" before his emotional suppression kicked in, "forgive me, this is not your fault, i know that your only concern for me and I am grateful but this is something i want to do alone and that is final." Albedo could only accept his orders and nod.

Outside the floating castle

"Hahhh, finally I'm alone, keeping up the absolute ruler act was so tiring and I needed to unwind abit… thinking back, I was quite harsh on the guardian's especially Albedo. Yoshh, I'm going to make it up to her somehow when I get back. Upon entering, Ainz was caught off guard surprisingly and was restrained by a world item he recognised as holingtus. The people that he showed mercy for were the ones that stabbed him in the back, seeing as how Marquis Raven, Emperor Jirniv and blue rose sprung up on him and starting hurling him with insults but Ainz could not hear anything as his PvP mode had kicked in… "Just how were they able to do this?? Aren't the shadow demons constantly monitoring their every move and will report back should any suspicious activity made by them be reported back to demiruge or any of the floor guardians." The only reason Ainz could come up with is another player that is also on the same level as him, it must be since only level 100 players have either the ability to sense the shadow demons and eliminate it or musk their presence and fool the shadow demons into thinking that they are harmless, Ainz could only agree with the latter as any shadow being wiped out will be noticed by Demiruge or Ainz.

While he was complatating, his thoughts were interrupted when he saw the platinum dragon lord walking out with two seemingly familiar individuals. A look of betrayal could be seen on Ainz face as he recognised them as his old guildmates, which explained why the world item had worked on him when he carried his own for safety. They overpowered him and caught him when his most vulnerable and alone.

Back to present:

"WHY YOU GUYS??? WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME!" Ainz shouted at his guildmates, wanting an explanation on why they were behind his assassination when all Ainz wanted was to be reunited with the guild. "It's because we hated you, acting like your so high and mighty, when your here, we can never rule so your an eyesore that needed to be weeded out." If skeletons could cry, Ainz would have cried a river, shocked and betrayed, he looked around to see the people smirking at him, laughing at his downfall. Just when Ainz was about say something, the bright holy rays of light engulfed him.

Just before falling to the endless dark abyss, he thought of Nazarick, feeling ashamed that he didn't heed his floor guardians' worries and dismissed them as trivial. Thinking back to fun times he had in Nazarick with all the NPCs made him smile despite feeling so much pain and agony from the holy rays that burned him deep. "Hahh to think this is how I was repaid, I did everything and indirectly spread my name worldwide to find my guildmates only to be stabbed in the back, I was just too naive and always clinging on to the past instead of moving forward." Just as everything was about to go dark, Ainz saw Albedo and her death squad breaking in, giving him a worried and sad look which made Ainz guilty and conjured something that grew twisted in him at that moment. He swore he will take his revenge no matter what on the people here and will no longer be merciful with the "lesser beings" as Nazarick called it and will let himself be taken advantage of by being naive! In his last breath, he saw Albedo rushing to him with tears in eyes and cradled him in her arm, her actions letting him know how much she loves him and will follow him in death. Ainz returned the gesture by hugging her waist tightly and activating a cash shop item that triggers only after he had died but not without whispering the three words that Albedo longed to hear: "I love you", before meeting the endless dark void that had consumed him but leaving a smile on his face as he managed to convey his true feelings to the overseer.

It just happens that all good things will always come to an end…
