(note for this remake I did try Grammarly Ai rewrite but I only took the parts that I felt helped make thing better. Let me know if you can spot which sentences are the ai rewrites)
We walked down a few halls, and I followed along with the other soldiers. Looking around the place, I saw a window that led outside, showing various mechanical machines.
I sighed at the sight, not because it was sad but because it reminded me of home ... yeah, home.
We got led into a room that seemed to be the canteen for the place.
The person with the higher command presence who talked to us on the ride down from orbit was at the front of our group. He turned around to look at us.
???: alright, you fuck maggots, get into your seats so we can begin this fuck show.
I quickly scanned the room for an open seat and found one in the back. Making my way over, I settled in, eagerly waiting for what next.
???: alright, now that you fuckers are in your seat, we can now begin this introduction. First off, you will call me sir. Is that understood!
Many responded to him by saying yes, sir, or understood.
I didn't follow the others because they were unlikely to notice, and I would not be with the group for much longer.
Rda sir: now then, you little shits, you were initially going to get told about everything about this hell hole of a planet by one of those scientists fucks, but those fuckers said they were too busy to do it.
Rda sir: so sadly, that duty was passed onto me…
As he talked, I lost focus on the things he was talking about, mainly because it was all boring shit.
The guy talked for a while about different dangers on the planet, but something he said caught my interest.
On the board behind the Rda guy were photos of different things. One was the Navi leaders.
Rda Sir: now, then, onto the main threat, the goddam Navi those fucker can be annoying at times. Their leader goes by some kind of weird ass name, but his real name is Jake Sully.
Rda sir: he is an ex-member of the rda who had switched sides for those blue monkeys
Ok, now then, that was racism at its finest. But that was not what caught his attention. It was what he said after that part.
Rda sir: This is his wife, Neytiri. Please don't ask how to pronounce her name. You only need to know that she is extremely dangerous, so avoid her if possible.
(Image here)
She was dangerous—all right, dangerously sexy. Their photo made me question how they had taken it, but it was great.
The image of Neytiri was striking—she stood tall at nine feet, with captivating blue skin adorned with a necklace that barely concealed her form. The attire was minimal, leaving not much to the imagination. The way she carried herself radiated strength and danger.
In the lower area of her body, she only wore a loincloth, and from the way the loincloth was, it looked like she didn't wear anything underneath it. Also, he would die to feel those thighs.
But to add more to her, she had a tail and ears that reminded him of a cat or some kind of feline.
I'll keep it in mind for later to check deeper into that.
Rda sir: Now then, those two are high-priority targets, but from what we have heard, those two have litter around the place. Sadly, we have no photos of those kids, but if you come across them, capture them.
Kids? That added an intriguing element to the assignment.
His briefing dragged on—a mixture of dull preparations and protocols I assumed weren't critical. Eventually, we were led to another room, but before I had a chance to comply, he halted my progress.
Rda guy: you y/n?
Y/n: yes, I am.
General: follow me.
The guy started to walk into a different place. I simply shrugged as I followed him.
After walking with him briefly, we got to a door that wouldn't open. He pulled out a keycard and opened the door.
As I walked through, I noticed a change in the location. The windows to the place opened into the other rooms with science equipment. The place was most likely a scientific area.
We made it to a room that had a nameplate. Looking at the name, it read Sanchez.
The Rda guy opened the door and moved to the side, not wanting to head inside.
Inside, a man was absorbed in paperwork at a table. As I walked in, he removed his glasses and sighed upon seeing me.
He pointed at the chair in front of him, which was very intimidating, even though he was just sitting there. I took a deep breath, walked over to the seat, and sat down.
???: now then y/n I presumed?
Y/n: yes, that is me.
It's not like I said that multiple times today so far.
???: Good, now let's begin. Hello, y/n. My name is Sanchez, but my friends call me Rick.
Hmm, strange. That name sounded familiar to me. It sounded like it belonged to a blue-headed scientist with an annoying grandson.
Rick: You have been chosen for this mission, and I wanted to clarify that you will most likely die from it.
A chuckle escaped from my mouth at his words. Does he really think I'm scared of dying? What a joke. I wouldn't be here if I were.
I looked at him, not showing much of a hint of fear behind my eyes.
Y/n: Well, I wouldn't have signed up on the flier if I didn't have a reason to be on Earth anymore. I am already at my lowest point, so if I'm going to die, I might as well have fun and do it my way.
I remember walking through the alleyway after getting into another fight with my mother. I stumbled through the puddles. Before leaning against the wall, I noticed a flier on it.
It stated that if you signed up, you would be sent to Pandora to take down a rebel leader.
Rick: Very well. As you know, you will be alone for this mission and will not receive any help from us. We will only provide a building and food for you to stay in. But because of the Confidentialness of this mission, you are unknown to the rest of the Rda. So they will think you're part of the resistance.
Y/N: I understand what I'm getting myself into here. I hope you don't mind me asking, but I have a question.
Rick: Very well, tell me these questions of yours.
Y/N: Well, first of all, what is the timeline for this? Second, can I complete the mission in any way I want?
Rick: Well, we would just like to hear about the progress being made there. However, there are no real-time limits, and yes, you can do it any way you want. Now, follow me over here.
Rick got up from his seat and walked over to the window. I stood and walked over to see what he wanted to show me.
He pushed down on a button that raised the window blinds, revealing a creature floating in a liquid tube on the other side.
It reminded me of the woman and guy from the introduction. There was a Navi in the tank.
Rick: This is an avatar. We created it by combining a small sample of your DNA with a Navi.
After everything he said, I looked at him and then at the avatar. If I heard him right, then this is my avatar.
I looked at the avatar in amazement, as if it were another form of my body. However, I did have a question about how they got Navi's DNA, but I shook it off.
There was something peculiar about my avatar's face, though. Just beneath the left eye, there was a scar—a single slash with four dots beneath it.
Y/n: what happened to its face?
Rick: Oh, that is just some kind of birthmark from the DNA we took from a Navi.
Rick: Now then, follow me to this room.
I watched Rick start to leave and then glanced back at my avatar. I saw that people were beginning to move the pod to another location.
I walked over to catch up with Rick. He led me into a different room with a weird thing to the right of it.
Rick: To use these avatars, you must go to this device. It will transfer your consciousness to your avatar and allow you to use it.
He pointed at the mechanism. I walked over to it, looking at it from Side to side before touching it and lifting the top, revealing a green foam material.
When I touched it, I felt how weird it was. Then, I looked at him. He seemed to be waiting for me to get in.
I moved the metal things inside that would keep my body from moving too far out and laid my back inside the machine.
Rick walked over and closed it on me. I looked around for a moment, seeing the inside as I felt my consciousness slipping away from my body.
Feeling the darkness surrounding me till it all went dark.
*third person POV*
People moved an avatar onto a table, making sure everything was in order as they prepared for it to wake up.
Slowly leaning closer to the body, the avatar's eyes showed movement underneath the eyelids before the avatar slowly opened his eyes.
