Chương 3: ‘Family’ discussion (edited)
Coming out of my thoughts the guards opened the door to the dinning hall and so for the first time since my awakening, I saw my adoptive family minus Iroh and Lu ten. With my grandfather at the head of the table as he was currently the fire lord if I remember he should die or rather be killed in around 4 years so that means I've got that much time to mess up 'uncles' plans.
Bowing to Azulon before taking my seat which was opposite Azula we began our meal. During the time we were eating I began to look around and noticed that my adoptive 'uncle' Ozai seemed to greatly dislike me. On the other hand Ursa the twins mother seemed very fond of me. From the memories it appeared that due to my presence and teasing Azula doesn't have as large a ego compared to the original and she mellowed out all be it slightly. As a result Azula spends a little more time with her mother and learns things she didn't in the original like maintaining her hair without the assistance of maids.
As for my grandfather he didn't even acknowledge me. After finishing my meal I decided to take a calculated risk " Fire lord Azulon may I make a request" although my voice was firm in truth I was panicked as currently I was weak. If he decided I could die on a whim.
Without even looking at me he replyed sternly " what is it boy" clearing my throat since I already made my decision and asked " may I have access to fire bending scrolls? I wish to begin my training early" this shocked all at the table as they weren't ready for it but due to years of etiquette training it was brief and only a light flicker in their eyes. Other then the twins of course as they where younger and had less training and experience.
" fine do as you please I shall grant you full access, mistakes will be punished" and with that he left the topic. Although I hoped for a teacher it'll have to do, also it will allow me to see how good sunshine truely is.
After the meal everyone began to leave and since it was only 2 In the afternoon I decided to head to the royal library and start reading on fire bending.
Entering the library and telling the librarian what I was after he originally told me to leave but after I told him fire lord Azulon gave me permission he caved since he didn't want to ask Azulon if it was true, since even if it was he would most likely be killed for being an annoyance.
After being left in the beginner section I began to read through the scrolls present and to say the least it was interesting. The scroll stated that " too awake fire bending one must have a prerequisite to the art and as such feel the element within through their desire, and will. The method to this is through meditation which focuses on the heart as a passage to the spirit and inadvertently to a persons willpower. "
Seeing the method to awake my bending I took the scroll to the librarian and then requested to take it to my room albeit reluctantly she agreed. On my way to my room I found non other than Azula standing in front of my door with her arms yet again crossed. As she noticed my approach I saw her trade mark smirk appearing across her lips. At this I also couldn't help but smile to.
" can I help you little miss, you look lost" and from this I received a snarl. Chuckling at this I spoke to her again " ahh your so cute little Lala what can I help you with" this However got me kicked in the shin real hard quickly apologising to her since it actually hurt she responded. " the fire bending scrolls, we will learn together you won't get ahead of me" whist pointing at me and grinning over her small victory.
Looking up at her whist nursing my shin I gave her a visual go ahead and with that she entered my room with even asking. Sitting on my bed she began " I've been outside for 30 minutes you must have read the scroll in the library so tell me how to do it now" although she demanded I turned to her and said simply " what's the magic words" and so a quite yet audible please was uttered although she did blush slightly.
So I began explaining what was in the scroll and showing her the passage as I brought the scroll with me in doing so she could create her own understanding of the process . By doing this I'd already inadvertently changed her fate slightly since teaching her fire bending instead of Ozai showed it can be created through willpower, determination, pride and even love not rage, hate.
Since the scroll said it could be dangerous I decided I should try it fist since I wouldn't let her get hurt. again this made her have a light blush since very few people show her care and she has created a strong image of herself to please her father who she desperately seeks approval from.
Sitting in the lotus position since it felt right I decided to meditate on my heart and try feel it these embers or sparks and after 3 long hours of trying I succeeded which shocked me and Azula as it said a extremely talented person could take up to 10 days to succeed Whist an average person would take years.
Standing up with a smile I look at Azula with a smile that would make the joker jealous and point my nose to the ceiling with air that mocked her as this was an important moment for me and I believed id do better then her In it.
After this Azula left in anger since it was already late and her mother might be concerned. In truth I new she wasn't really angry as I could see a small smile as she slammed the door.
Lying down I couldn't help but smile at that cute side of her and though to myself 'system show me my relationship with Azula'

Looking at that I couldn't help but sigh I knew she had problems expressing herself I couldn't help but close my eyes and drift off leaving tomorrows problems to tomorrows me.
