The annual meeting of the nobles was one of the kingdom's most traditional events. Every year, aristocrats from all regions made their way to the capital to participate in discussions about the kingdom's development. However, this meeting was not restricted to administrative matters.

Obtaining an audience with King Artios, known for giving more attention to the people than to the nobility, was a rare opportunity. Thus, the days dedicated to these assemblies were always eagerly awaited by the nobles—or at least, they should have been.

This time, however, the atmosphere was different. News of an assassin on the loose in the capital had spread throughout the kingdom, provoking deep fear among the aristocracy. Many hesitated to make the dangerous journey to the city, fearing that this meeting could seal their fate. Still, the king's summons was mandatory; refusing the call was not an option.
