The hot air balloon slowly rose into the sky. The group looked down at the devastation caused by the massive meteorite, their minds filled with mixed emotions. Waldo also glanced at the ruins below, the remains of a place that had been their home for a short time, holding fond memories.
Controlling the hot air balloon, Waldo steered it towards City 25. They flew over the old town area and the central district.
They saw the massive meteorite lying still in the central square, the point of impact that used to be the base of the police station. Now, it was all ruins, and Waldo could only make an educated guess about the location.
Alanna gazed down at the ruins and murmured, "It's truly a desolation, devoid of any signs of life, just emptiness and bleakness."
Helen sighed, "Indeed, so many lives lost, and not even ashes left behind. No one will ever know their names. This meteor shower truly made me feel the weight of the phrase 'apocalyptic world.'"
