My body strained as my wings took me as fast as I could go in such a full space. Brooke was falling and so was Conner, but I could only save one. So I chose and watched the latter splatter on the dining halls floor. "Brooke?" My frantic hand rubbed against his cheek and felt for a pule. His neck throbbed faintly against my fingers. His eyes fluttered open and I smiled.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm sorry," he grabbed my hand and pressed it against his gentle hands. I shook my head to let him know that I didn't blame him for this. "Leader of Light," Brooke gasped softly. "Go fight." I stood up and looked at all the fighting, the death, all of those that were falling white and darks alike. I gave off a high pierced whistle, a signal for all of my warriors to get as low as they could. Then I let all of my power out, disintegrating all those that were left. It became silent, ashes snowed black around all of us and then a deafening roar surrounded me as they all shouted in glee. We finally won.
"WHO ARE WE?!" I shouted into the chaos.
"THE LIGHT BRINGERS!" Everyone screamed back before I sunk into blissful darkness.
The hushed voices and herb smell hinted at the fact that I was in the infirmary. "Is she going to be okay?" Brooke's voice was hoarse with worry.
"Yes, just a few days of rest and she'll be as good as new!" Aceso, a healer, said brightly. Her voice annoyed me as I listened to her explain to Brooke how my body works.
"He gets the point," I growled softly. She quickly shut up and left us alone.
"Moody?" Brooke asked, amusement glittering in his eyes.
"And if I was?" My smirk drew him closer, but he stopped before his lips could touch mine.
"Then I would do everything in my human power to make you feel happy," he hugged me instead. I smiled into his neck, wanting to kiss it but kept my lips to myself just as he did. We could not rush whatever we had between us. "I'll go get you some food." My eyes fell shut before I could answer him.
