Chương 54: Chapter 09: A heart to heart with the Symbol of Peace.

All Might POV:

Life has never been easy, and after the fight with All for One, the injuries made it even harder for me to do hero work. The time I can stay in my muscle form is decreasing by the day while my search of a worthy successor for the legacy of One for All is still unfinished.

In the last few years the world around me changed way too fast, so fast that so much was left behind, and among them were the heroes. The whole nation saw a growth that was unpreceded, from infrastructure to economy and even the security. The rate of crime fell at a straight slope while the social norms were changing and behind all of this was a single young man.

The scion of the Yaoyorozu family, Yuki Yaoyorozu, he started with managing the companies that were basically a hair line away from bankruptcy. But in mere six years, he is one of the richest people alive and not only that, he is an avid humanitarian and philanthropist. He can be said to be the role model for his generation and the ones to come, even the adults could take a page of his books and try to make the world a better place.

This young man brought meaning to my purpose of life, he was the representation of my ideals, the personification of the symbol I stand for, he is working for peace. And today I saw the young man taking another leap in the direction towards a better future, he brought up what was needed, while he might be strict when he spoke of not believing in redemption, I am sure it was just him trying to scare off the offenders.

What better way to stop crime than to make the offenders fear their actions, the only reason I am called the symbol of peace is because of my absolute strength that brings fear to the offenders and hope to the common populace. But I am but a lone man, I can not be at two places at a given time and no matter how much I try to deny, there are limits to my capacity. But after he came into the picture the crimes have reduced by a huge margin and I am getting more time to spend in leisure and recovery.

But this young man is not trying to make a difference, but to bring a change. If he really succeeds, there might be a day where heroes and enforcement are no longer needed. The day the world finds peace, and so I came to meet the young man in Tokyo.

While I came here, I knew that I was going to rich man's house but what welcomed me was quite the level of unprecedented luxury. The maids welcomed me and asked me to wait in the guest room and freshen up while they speak to their master of my arrival.

The maids relayed my arrival and stood behind me for assistance, believe me when I say that I have attended a lot of high-end parties and met a lot of dignitaries, this level of treatment was the first.

A butler came to me and relayed the message of his master, saying that I was invited to the dinner and to mention that even if I say that I had dinner before I came here, he should say in quotation "for a guy his size, it won't matter if he had his dinner already, he can still grab a bite with me."

My eyebrows twitched at the comment and eve the disciplined maids seemed to chuckle at the butler's words, like they were quite used to the ways of their master. I was led to the dining and the variety of cutlery have me a headache, in a while, I saw Mellissa and another young girl come in led by the maids attending to them.

I exchanged a greeting with Mellissa but before we could talk more the doors opened and the one we were waiting for stepped in. The young man was very handsome, with silver hair and bright azure eyes, he was wearing a noble man's apparel. But the most important thing would be his presence, it was something that even I felt pressured by, it was like standing before a King.

He did not speak a word, just a passing glance and I stood up straight before I knew it. I was sweating behind my back while I understood what exactly I was dealing with, this was no ordinary young man. The dinner started and the food was served, it was nothing short of heavenly, surely the best food I had ever eaten.

After the meal the maids led us to the drawing room where the hearth was kindled and we sat after dinner. A maid poured a glass of aromatic sherry for mead n bowed before she took her leave.

Mellissa and I caught up for the time we had not seen each other and then the two girls were sent back and the two of were left seated, just me and young Yaoyorozu.

"Let me get right to the point, young Yaoyorozu, I want to ask you the motive behind what you are doing." I said it clearly, knowing the young man would not have it any other way.

POV ends.

"All Might, the greatest hero alive, the question could come from anyone else and the answer would be something else. But you, the answer would be the bare truth." Yuki spoke as he looked right into All Might's eyes.

"This is my crusade against the world as we know it today, it's my war against the society. It's been too long that the world has seen peace, stability and discipline, I will bring them back. The world is a broken place right now and I decided to re-forge it. I will melt the norms, and hammer what is impure, and when the world is purified, I will cast it in the mould of AVALON, I will bring the mankind to the King's promised land."

Yuki stood up and walked towards All Might and stretched his hand, "Now I ask you, will you aid me in my quest, for my dream and quest to leave a beautiful world before I leave this world?"

All Might who was taken aback by the words of Yuki felt like a spark has been rekindled inside him, an ember that had been lying dormant for years has now flared up in resolution. He took the hand of Yuki with a big smile and exchanged a gaze that spoke more words than his lips could. They shook their hands and a promise between men was made, one between the Symbol of Peace and the Symbol of Change.

"Call me Yuki, I won't have it another way unless it's a nickname from you." Yuki said with a smile.

"Alright Yuki-shounen, but do tell me one thing, do you really not believe in redemption?" All Might asked in a serious voice.

"Yes and no, I don't believe in unpunished redemption. Every one is bound to face the consequences of their actions, if the people do not know the consequences of their actions how could they weigh between the decisions they make. The best way to stop people from doing something is deterrence, just like a child who tries to touch the flame of a candle, he would never understand why his parents asked him not to touch it till he feels the flame's heat himself. Once he knows the consequence, he would never again dare touch the candle flame."

"My ideals are quite similar; the offenders will quiver in their boots even if the mere thought of law breaking comes to their minds. Like the criminals know that facing you there is no other way than being caught, they will now know that if they are caught, the punishments will not be dealt by civil law, the penal department will be managed with an iron hand with the martial law. Discipline is maintained with the fear of punishments and it will be so once again." Yuki finished as the two looked at each other.

"Is this not a bit too much, there are a lot of people who were forced by the circumstances into going down the wrong path?" All Might asked.

"This is where I come in, I will wipe off poverty and injustice from it's very roots. There will be no bias, nobody will be denied their shot at life, join me All Might as we achieve our dreams together, you who dreamed of peace and I who dreamed of change, let us steer this world back to its correct path."

"Very well Yuki-shounen, count me in but let me tell you a secret that only a very few know." All Might took his seat and downed his glass of sherry while Yuki refilled it again.

"Let me tell you about my quirk and my fight against a man who was so much like you while he walked the dark path you walk under the light. This is the legacy of my quirk, of One for All." All Might spoke about the quirk's origin and the fight against its creator and nemesis All for One. About the injury he received and his muscle form and how he was getting weaker by the passing days and of his quest for a worthy successor and then he asked, "Yuki-shounen, are you willing to shoulder the fates of millions and face their worst foe?"
