Chương 9: 9. Ugh Teacher's
It's four in the morning and there's no way I'll be going back to sleep tonight. So I decided to go over the lesson plan for my mythology class. Sitting in bed I start reading and it's a chapter on the comparison of Egyptian mythology and mythology from other religions . Describing the similarities in divine beings. How some think celestials from other popular religions and culture's stem from Egyptian mythology. My focus was on Egyptian Gods vs Angels. Like the Egyptian God Harpocrates and the Angel Razeil both deities of Secrets and Mystery . Then I saw mention of the Archangel Uriel, and Egyptian God Thoth both deities of wisdoms and writing, but it was just a paragraph. There had to be more! I started flipping through the pages hoping to find something anything that mentioned Uriel again. I found my self stopping on a picture of half canine half human figure. It was an Egyptian God named Anubis. God of the afterlife guardian of lost souls. Compared to the Archangel Azrael the keeper of scrolls. With the purpose of keeping track of who lives, who dies, when and how they die. The avenger of those who have been wronged, the Ruler of Damned. He's the Angel of Death.
A shiver washed over me after reading the last page I closed the book and had to take a second to breath. Was that my mother they was talking about I'm mean I knew she was an Archangel she told me as much but I never really thought to much about it. She was my mother and that was good enough it was never brought up so we never talked about it. She always said our family's history was long, and complicated that she would tell me about it when I got older, that day never came. To tell you the truth I don't know anything I never read a Bible or religious books in my life from any culture. I don't even know the history or origin of Lycian's. I have been so focused on surviving and running I don't know anything about my self who I am, where I really come from. I needed answers its really time I'm done running. I have to know the only person I can think of that might help me find answers is Reign. I still had a few hours before class I spent the rest if my time on the internet looking for any information on angels or Lycian. It was hard getting through the Hollywood crap but I think I have a decent list to start with. I was a half hour early for class the door was open so I walked in figured I would sit and wait for Reign. Professor Zeil was at his desk reading from some dirty old looking book. He looked up and gawked me with surprise.
"Solaris never thought I would see you in my class this early. What's the occasion?"
"You can just call me Sol. Um and nothing I was just up early Professor Zeil."
"Ah well Sol, you can take your seat if you wish."
"Professor Zeil can I ask you a question about to days lesson plan in mythology?"
"Its not my class, but sure I'll answer best I can."
"Well I figured you would know giving you teach history and mythology is basically ancient history."
"What's your question?"
"Well the lesson is comparing Egyptian Gods and Angels how some newer religions may have used some of the Egyptian Gods as there Deities."
"Alright so what's your question Sol."
"Well do you think that they could actually be one in the same? Just with different names with the same purpose they had in both beliefs "
"I guess it's possible. If history shows us anything people believe what they want and will fight for those beliefs blindly. So if that means changing the name and purpose of a divine being to fit there needs why wouldn't they."
" Thanks that helps a little. One more question do you know any history or lore about Archangels specifically Uriel or Azrael.?"
"Why do you ask? I know a few things I guess. Uriel was the Angel is wisdom was gods voice, and holder of light. Azrael, simply put the Angel of Death."
"Yeah I read the basics do you know anymore something I can't just Google? You have any weird old books like the one you are reading on the subject?"
"I'm not sure I care for your tone Solaris, I will answer any questions you have but I don't appreciate the attitude you seem to have if they are not the answers you was looking for."
"I'm sorry Professor Zeil I have just been searching all morning and have found nothing that you haven't already told me. There has to be more about the angels I know it. Do you know anyone who's an expert in this kind of thing?"
" Look this is a subject you should stay away from you may not like the answers you come across. But you can try your actual class professors I'm just the history teacher. Now class is about to start take your seat."
What kind of answer is that I may not like what I find. What could he mean by that, he's got to know something I can feel it something is of about him I just don't now what it is. I see Reign up by out normal seats I'm to aggravated to stay in Professor Zeils class today I motion her to fallow me. With out question she's up from a her seat and out the door before Professor Zeil starts his lesson.
