Chương 20: I had a car accident because of you..
Ella's spoon slipped out of her hand and fell on the table. She started feeling strangely nervous as if someone had pointed a gun at her forehead. This was the first question Evan asked Ella as soon as she woke up was 'does she know who he was?' That time, Ella was a little confused about that question, but now everything is getting clear in her head.
'Ohh god... I am done... People were right when they said.. you will pay as you do...' Ella thought.
"So finally you remembered.." Evan lowered his eyelids and said to Ella with a smile.
How happy it was that Ella remembered everything. "5 dollars was too much in romance novel, girls never pay more than 1 dollar... I was already very lucky and why would I cheat you?.... You are a man and I am a woman, I did not complain and...and.. that was my first time..... you should consider yourself lucky... OKAY!" Ella said.
Ella wanted to free herself as soon as possible from the charge of being called a cheater. If he really wanted to be serious about this and wanted to compensate for his loss, then what could she do? Had Ella started reading too many romantic novels?
Evan had seen Ella panicking and started trying to tease her a little. "Ohh, so it's like that... I think I was fooled. I feel like you already knew everything about me, and you used that scandal to take advantage of my status." Evan said.
"I swear... I don't even know you at that time, and I will never use your position for my benefit... that night was just an accident.... and someone who had benefited from that night, it's you, not me." Ella really felt that she was the unlucky one, not him.
"If I wanted to become famous using your name, I would have become famous by now, but look, nobody knows about me..." Ella started feeling suspicious about how much Evan was helping her and how well he was treating her.
Ella thought that he was treating her this nice just because he wanted to settle an old thing?
Evan saw her nervous face, and it seemed as if she was about to cry. He controlled his laugh and said. "So why do I feel like it has affected me the most? I am a movie star and the president of Big Picture Entertainment, and you are nothing. And do you know that all this is because I had a car accident because of you."
"WHATTT????" Ella screamed.
After all, what did Ella have to do with that car accident? She had left for abroad. After all, how could she know about this?
Ella was shocked. "What do you mean because of me?? How is this possible??"
Evan completed his sentence... "I even gave you a chance to see me, but you forgot everything about that. If you had not turned away from your responsibilities and left everything, I would not have sat in that car and gone to the airport that day....to stop you from going... and then the accident would not have happened.... Now tell me, who's fault is it, Ella?"
Ella was at a loss for words. Evan's grudge against Ella was very clear. If she had not disappeared after spending the night with him, then he would have had no reason to search for Ella. If he had not been looking for her, his car would not have been accidented. All this happened because of Ella... Evan's condition was like this because of Ella.
When Ella thought all this, then she realised that all this happened because of her.
After a few seconds of silence, Evan started looking a bit sad. "After you left, do you know how much pain I felt for a year because of that car accident."
Ella didn't know what to say in this suiation.
Evan started remembering what a proud, confident, and strong person he was 5 years ago. But now his confidence and pride had vanished like a wind. And all that was left is that wheelchair.
In such bad times, a person breaks down. That car accident had shattered Evan's sense of pride.
Ella had heard from Chole that Evan's entire life was ruined after the car accident. His body was reduced to a walking corpse, and now he can't even have children. This was worse than death for any man. How can something so big happen to someone?
Ella couldn't stop herself from thinking that if she had been in Evan's place, would she have been able to stop herself from suciding till now?
