Irene's curious gaze followed him until he vanished before her eyes until her attention was stolen by an announcement.

Her head tilted toward Jake who stood in the center. She took the last sip of her drink before putting the glass down.

"Ladies and gentlemen, hold your breaths because the lights are going to get turned off for a while. All the beautiful young ladies are requested to come and stand on this side and all the handsome gentlemen, on this one. You will have to walk forward when the lights go off and stand with the one, you first stumble upon and you two will be the dancing partners for tonight."

Loud claps followed as Jake finished.

"Hey."

Startled with a tap on her shoulder, Irene looked back to find Grace's brightened face.

"Come on, move to that side," Grace said, gesturing with her hand, "I am not going to do this because I want to dance with Xavier, you know." She winked at Irene.
