Cynthia looked at herself in the mirror, causing her to smile. It had been twelve years since she had been reborn in the DC universe and this was the first time she ever felt safe. Why? Her metagene just got unlocked. Out of any gene she could have got, Absolute Combat was the actual best. The very best example she could think of a person having this kind of power would be Garou from One Punch Man universe.
With the unlocking of the gene, she found changes to her body that made her absolutely giddy. First, her body had gained strength she never thought she had. While before she could not even lift a chair properly, she felt she could push a sky scrapper to the ground with minimum effort. Her reflexes and dexterity were to a whole new level.
She could track a fly with her eyes and catch it before it could even think of evading. She had tried with a tennis ball machine, cranking the speed to 90miles/hr yet she could catch them all without any effort. The next thing that increased was her brain's processing power. She felt like she had the same processing power as a wristwatch before and now; she was like a next gen gaming pc fresh out of the factory. Her awareness of her surroundings was so on point she immediately knew her perception was ultra instinct level!
"Calm down, girl. You are twelve years old, a little girl. You have your whole life ahead of you," she told herself. Taking a deep breath in and out, sh found herself calm instantly, making her become amazed even more. Just then, the door to the bathroom was opened by another girl, a teenager.
"What are you doing in here, get out," the teenage girl ordered her, making Cynthia sigh tiredly. She turned to leave when she saw the tears threatening to stream out of her sister's eyes.
"Amy, are you okay?" she asked her. Amy just glared at her before trying to push her out of the way but she took a couple of steps away instead. She looked at her, slack jawed.
"What have you been eating?" she asked in shock.
"Pears," Cynthia answered without missing a beat. "Why are you crying?" Amy's mood suddenly plummeted before she burst out crying. She sat on the floor, hugging her knees, crying her eyes out. Cynthia just sat beside her and waited. For two minutes, Amy just cried before she turned to her sister.
"Boys are assholes!" she hissed, her voice full of venom. Cynthia just shrugged at this. She knew that very well due to her experience in her last life. "Gary, he...he started a rumor that I slept with him and gave him chlamydia. Now every girl that has slept with him has the disease and everybody hates me." Amy started crying once again making Cynthia pat her back. She was not good with sentiments so her sister will have to do with the pats for the moment.
"Gary, huh. Is he the quarterback with grey eyes, blonde hair and a scar under his left eye?" Cynthia asked, making Amy look at her with tearful red eyes.
"Yes, why?" she asked, dubiously. Cynthia just shrugged.
"I'm going out. Should I get you some ice cream?"
"You are too young to be out after dark. Besides, momma will kill me when she finds out," Amy quickly sobered up. Their mother was the enforcer of the house. Unlike what she saw on animes and the likes, this family was different. Their father was the man of the house, assertive yet loving. He was the president of the house and their mother was the police. They both feared her and respected her; she had to when she straight up slapped Amy unconscious when she talked back at her in a mall. Then she had the gall to act apologetic when she nearly dragged her to the hospital after that! Even the crowd were afraid of calling the police lest her wrath fell on them.
"Don't worry, they are both in a dinner date and will be back at midnight," Cynthia said and just walked out. She changed out of her dress into a pair of shorts, knee high socks, sneakers, scarf and a jacket then walked out of the house.
"Alright, let's see how well I will do combat wise," Cynthia said to herself as she took out her phone and went to the instagram app. She saw where Gary had posted last, a minute ago and smirked. "Got ya."
She broke into a sprint, making sure she was not going past peak human standard of fast due to cameras. She hid half of her face with her scarf just in case too. After a few minutes of parkour running, she arrived at the Cheesecake Factory where Gary and his friends were. Looking around, she saw no police so she took a deep breath and got inside the cafe. She strode to the table Gary was, making the four robust teenagers look at her with frowns.
"Do you need something?" one of them asked. Cynthia did not saw a word but took the ketchup bottle and straight up just poured it all inside the boy's coffee. All four of them were dumbfounded at the scene. Usually, they were the ones provoking others and getting away with it all! They had never come across anyone actively provoking them.
"Get away from here, little girl," the teenager she poured the ketchup in his coffee coldly said and tried to push her but she got hold of it by his palm, twisted it to the side at the same time pulling him right off the bench with a painful scream and onto the cold floor.
"Benji!" the other three shouted and tried to rush her but Cynthia was too fast. She sucked under the first boy then swept the second boy's feet, making him fall to the ground with a smack and in a show of fantastic flexibility, Cynthia supported her small body frame with her two arms before her two feet slammed into Gary's chest, sending him flying out of the window with a crash. She quickly got back to her feet with a quick whirl before vaulting over the table and window, landing beside Gary who was groaning in pain.
"Next time you think of framing somebody for something she did not do, let this remind you not to do it!" she said before taking his right arm and straight up broke it by the elbow with a kick. Gary squealed like a pig been butchered from the pain. "I'm case you think of telling anyone what really happened here, know that you got two legs and one more hand, they can be broken too. Or, I can wait for your arm to heal and break it again. Nod if you understand." Gary nodded frantically making her nod. She scoffed at his sorry looking figure before walking away.
When she was far enough, she took off the scarf and jacket, dumped them in a trashcan. Then, she climbed up to the roof of a building using the fire escape and used the rooves to move. When she was sure she was far away from the crime scene and no way they could pin the crime on her, she got off the rooves and went into a convenient store to get the ice cream for her sister.
"I really hope momma and papa are not home yet. I don't want her spanking me while I am two times her age," she said to herself.
