Chương 8: Ten year time skip: what is even happening to my life?

Ten years after

How did my life come to this? Once, a millenia ago, I was the strongest…I was someone that people bowed down too and worshiped… and now…?

I had gone from weak to strong…to back to weak.

And I wasn't just a little bit weak. No, I could live with being a little bit weak…No, I was shunned from society itself.

"Hey! Stop mumbling your depressing monologues under your breath and get in the line!"

I was in prison, unless it was already obvious. That was one of the prison guards yelling at me.

Oh, you're probably wondering how this happened, I guess I'll give a quick explanation.

Right after I had declared that I would take the throne and the princess had started to fall in love with me…something happened…

I'm still not sure what it was and it's been ten whole years!

So yeah…that's all the details I can give.

Something happened.

And what it was…hah, I can't even hope to imagine.

Something that's far stronger than me obviously.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention…that thing that completely destroyed me also took all of my powers and abilities…so yeah, now I'm just like the scum I used to look down on.

At least this new life has made me look back on who I was before…maybe it's some sort of restart or something….a second chance.

"Hey!! Pay attention! Get back to your damn jail cell!"

A terrible second chance.

I was like a robot, I had been for all these ten years, never knowing what was real or not… for all I knew this could all be some nightmare I was stuck in.

I kind of wish it was.

"I'm just done with all of this!"

I screamed that out loud, not being able to contain my annoyance any longer.

"Yeah we all are, buddy…"

That was my bunkmate. He was a good guy, he definitely didn't deserve to be in prison. His crime? Stealing a loaf of bread when he was starving on the streets.

"Why don't we do something about it??"

"Like what? This is the most high security prison in all of the galaxy."

"Yeah true… but I was also one of the strongest people in the galaxy."

"You're kidding."

"Nope."

I know, I know. It's pretty pathetic making myself look cooler than I really am, but hey, I'm trying my best to stay positive here.

"Well, I don't really believe you… but whatever. Not like that will change anything. If we want to escape we should first train to get more powerful."

Heh, training. I have had enough of that to last me a lifetime. That was kind of the last thing I wanted to do.

But getting out of this prison wasn't as easy as taking candy from a baby, so train, I must…whether I want to or not.
