The final bell rang, signaling the end of my first day at Youtou High. I grabbed my bag and headed out of the classroom, dodging curious glances from my classmates. As I walked down the hallway, I pulled out my phone and opened the Uber app. No way was I dealing with another fan mob today.
I spotted Marin's hair bobbing through the crowd and waved her over. "Hey, I called an Uber. Let's bounce before we get swarmed again."
Marin grinned and linked her arm through mine. "Ooh, fancy. I could get used to dating a celebrity."
"Yeah, yeah. Come on, it should be here in a few minutes."
We made our way to the school gates, keeping our heads down. A few students pointed and whispered, but thankfully no one approached us. The black sedan pulled up right as we reached the curb.
I opened the door for Marin, then slid in after her. "Home, please," I told the driver, who nodded without turning around. At least this one didn't seem to recognize me.
As we pulled away from the school, Marin let out a long sigh and slumped against me. "Man, what a day. How'd yours go, superstar?"
I ran a hand through my hair, thinking back over the past few hours. "It was... interesting. Met another actor in my class, Frill Shiranui. You know her?"
Marin's eyes lit up. "The Frill Shiranui? From 'Moonlight Sonata'? That's so cool!"
"Yeah, she seems nice. We talked a bit at lunch." I hesitated, then added, "Aqua was there too."
"Aqua? The guy from your show?" Marin tilted her head. "What's he like?"
I frowned, trying to put my finger on the odd vibe I'd gotten from him. "He's... intense. Kept asking about my background, my opinions on that idol Ai. It was weird."
Marin hummed thoughtfully. "Maybe he's just starstruck? You are kind of a big deal now, you know."
I snorted. "Says the girl who spent all morning taking selfies with my fans."
She stuck her tongue out at me.
We laughed, and I felt some of the tension from the day start to melt away. "So how about you? How was your day?"
Marin launched into a detailed account of her classes, the new friends she'd made, and the latest gossip she'd overheard. I let her chatter fill the silence, content to just listen and watch the city roll by outside the window.
"Oh!" Marin's exclamation snapped me back to attention. "I almost forgot. There's this new cafe opening next week, and I was thinking maybe we could check it out? You know, if you're not too busy being Mr. Hollywood."
I pretended to consider it, tapping my chin. "I don't know... My schedule's pretty packed with adoring fans and red carpet events..."
Marin pouted, her lower lip jutting out in an exaggerated frown. I lasted about two seconds before breaking into a grin. "I'm kidding. Of course we can go. It sounds fun."
Her face lit up, and she threw her arms around me. "Yay! It's gonna be great, I promise."
Eventually we made it back to our apartment, I thanked the driver and left a generous tip and headed to the elevator with Marin.
I unlocked the door to our apartment, letting out a sigh of relief as Marin and I stepped inside. Home at last. The familiar scent of Marin's vanilla air freshener wrapped around us like a warm blanket.
"Man, what a day," I groaned, kicking off my shoes. "I'm beat."
Marin stretched her arms above her head, her school uniform riding up slightly. "Same here. Wanna change and veg out on the couch?"
"Sounds perfect," I nodded, already heading for the bathroom.
A few minutes later, I emerged in a loose t-shirt and basketball shorts, feeling much more comfortable. Marin had beaten me to the living room, curled up on the couch in one of my oversized shirts. The sight of her in my clothes never failed to make my heart skip a beat.
"C'mere," she patted the spot next to her. "I missed you."
I chuckled, settling onto the couch. "We were together all day."
"Yeah, but not like this," Marin grinned, climbing onto my lap and wrapping her arms around my neck. Her warmth seeped into me, chasing away the last of the day's stress.
"Mm, good point. This is much better."
We sat in comfortable silence for a few moments, just soaking in each other's presence. My stomach growled, breaking the spell.
Marin giggled. "Hungry?"
"Starving," I admitted. "I should probably cook something..."
The thought of getting up and actually making food seemed like way too much effort. Marin must have read my mind because she reached for her phone on the coffee table.
"Or we could order in?" she suggested, already scrolling through a delivery app. "Ooh, that new ramen place is on here now."
"Sold," I said immediately. "Get me the spicy miso, extra chashu."
While Marin placed our order, I grabbed the TV remote and started flipping through channels. Nothing particularly interesting caught my eye until I landed on some cheesy action flick with explosions and car chases.
"This work for background noise?" I asked, gesturing at the screen.
Marin nodded, setting her phone aside. "Perfect. Now, where were we?"
She shifted on my lap, pressing closer. Her lips found the sensitive spot just below my ear, and I inhaled sharply.
"Marin..." I breathed, my hands tightening on her hips.
She pulled back. "Yes, Akira?"
I opened my mouth to respond, but she cut me off with a kiss. It started soft and sweet, but quickly deepened. My world narrowed down to the feel of her lips against mine, the taste of her strawberry lip gloss.
On screen, tires screeched and gunshots rang out. Neither of us paid any attention. Marin's hands tangled in my hair, tugging gently. I groaned, sliding my hands under her (my) shirt to caress the smooth skin of her back.
We broke apart, both breathing heavily. Marin's cheeks were flushed, her lips slightly swollen. She looked absolutely beautiful.
"I love you," I murmured, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
Her smile could have lit up the entire city. "I love you too, Akira."
She leaned in for another kiss, but the buzzing of my phone interrupted us. I fished it out of my pocket.
"Hello?"
"Akira? It's Aqua. We need to talk."
I held the phone to my ear, trying to focus on Aqua's voice and not the feeling of Marin's lips trailing down my neck.
"Hey Aqua, what's up?" I said, hoping I sounded normal. Marin giggled softly against my skin, her hands sliding under my shirt. I bit my lip to keep from making a sound.
"Sorry to call so late, but I wanted to ask you something," Aqua said. "It's about your girlfriend, Marin. What's her interest in the entertainment industry?"
I raised an eyebrow. "Uh, I'm not sure. She's into cosplay and modeling, but hasn't mentioned being an actress or anything."
Marin paused her exploration of my chest to look at me curiously. I put a finger to my lips in a 'wait' gesture.
"I see," Aqua mused. "Well, my sister Ruby was thinking of starting up an idol group under our agency, Strawberry Productions. Sort of a revival project similar to B-Komachi. We're looking for potential members."
Now it was my turn to perk up in interest. "B-Komachi?"
"Exactly," Aqua confirmed. "You know about them?"
"A little. Marin is kind of obsessed." I yelped as Marin nipped my ear in retaliation.
Aqua either didn't notice or was too polite to comment. "Interesting. Well, if Marin is interested, we'd love for her to join. Please let her know."
"Will do," I managed to get out despite Marin's renewed efforts to distract me, which now included subtle movements of her hips that made concentration nearly impossible.
"Great, thanks Akira. Have a good night."
"Yep, you too," I choked out before ending the call and tossing my phone aside. I turned my full attention to the minx in my lap.
"You are in so much trouble, young lady," I growled playfully, grabbing her hips to still them.
Marin responded by grinding down hard. "Maybe I want to be in trouble," she purred.
I groaned, tangling my hands in her hair and crashing our lips together. She kissed me hungrily, like she wanted to devour me. I was happy to let her.
Marin managed to wiggle out of her shirt, leaving her in just a lacy bralette that had my brain short circuiting.
I shifted us so I could lay Marin down on the couch, hovering over her. She hooked a leg around my hips, pulling me against her. We both moaned at the sensation.
"Akira," she gasped when we broke for air. Her face was flushed, lips kiss-swollen, eyes dark with desire. "I need you."
Heat flooded my veins at her words. I kissed a path down her neck to her collarbone, hands skimming over her curves. Marin arched into my touch, breathy little sounds escaping her lips.
I slid my hand lower, caressing her thigh. Marin rolled her hips encouragingly. We both groaned as I inched higher, fingers brushing against her through the thin fabric of her underwear.
She was soaked. The realization made me impossibly harder. I rubbed her slowly, finding a rhythm that had Marin writhing and gasping. Her nails dug into my shoulders, spurring me on.
"Akira, I - I'm so close," she panted, arching off the couch. Her eyes were squeezed shut, lips parted and swollen from my kisses. She had never looked more beautiful.
I doubled my efforts, determined to push her over the edge. Marin cried out, back bowing as her orgasm hit. I stroked her through it, murmuring words of praise and adoration.
When she finally went limp, I gathered her in my arms and held her close. Marin nuzzled into my neck, pressing feather-light kisses across my skin.
We stayed curled up together, trading lazy kisses as we waited for our food to arrive.
Eventually I heard a knock at the door and reluctantly untangled myself from Marin's embrace. She pouted but let me go to retrieve our food. I made sure to tip the deliveryman through the app and rejoined Marin on the couch with the steaming bags of takeout.
"Mm, smells so good!" Marin dug into her ramen eagerly.
"So," she said between bites, "who was on the phone earlier?"
I smirked. "Oh, now you're curious? Didn't seem too interested at the time."
Marin's cheeks flushed pink. She swatted my arm playfully. "Hey, I was... distracted."
"Mhm, that's one word for it," I teased, earning another light smack.
"Come on, spill," she insisted, setting her ramen aside. "It sounded important."
I leaned back, stretching my arms along the back of the couch. "It was Aqua, actually. He had an interesting proposition."
Marin's eyes widened. "Aqua? What did he want?"
"Well," I drawled, enjoying her impatience, "apparently his sister Ruby is starting up an idol group. They're looking for members."
Marin's jaw dropped. "No way. Are you serious?"
I nodded, grinning at her reaction. "Yep. And get this - it's supposed to be some kind of revival project. He specifically mentioned B-Komachi."
Marin squealed, bouncing in her seat. "B-Komachi? As in, the legendary group with Ai? That B-Komachi?"
"The very same," I confirmed. "He wanted to know if you might be interested in being in it."
Marin froze, her excitement morphing into disbelief. "Me? But... I'm not an idol. I don't even sing!"
I raised an eyebrow. "I've heard you in the shower. You're actually really good."
She blushed again, this time from embarrassment. "Akira! That doesn't count."
"Why not?" I challenged. "You've got the looks, the personality. With some training, I bet you'd make an amazing idol."
Marin bit her lip, looking uncertain. "I don't know... It's a big commitment. And what about my cosplay?"
I shrugged. "Who says you can't do both? Lots of idols have side hobbies."
She mulled it over, twirling a strand of pink hair around her finger. "It does sound pretty cool," she admitted. "But wouldn't it be weird? Your girlfriend becoming an idol?"
"Nah," I said, pulling her close. "I think it'd be awesome. We could take over the entertainment world together."
Marin giggled, snuggling into my side. "World domination, huh? Ambitious."
"You know me," I grinned. "Go big or go home."
We sat in comfortable silence for a few moments, the TV still playing that action movie in the background.
"What if I'm not good enough?" she finally asked, voice small.
I tilted her chin up, meeting her eyes. "Hey, none of that. You're amazing, Marin. If you want this, you can absolutely do it."
She searched my face, probably looking for any hint of doubt. Finding none, she nodded slowly. "Okay. I think... I think I want to try."
"Yeah?" I smiled encouragingly. "That's my girl."
Marin's answering grin was radiant. She threw her arms around my neck, peppering my face with kisses. "Thank you for believing in me."
I hugged her tight. "Always."
When we separated, Marin's eyes were sparkling. "Oh my gosh, I have so much to do! I need to practice singing, and dancing, and-"
I laughed, cutting off her rambling with a quick kiss. "Slow down, tiger. How about we start by calling Aqua tomorrow and letting you meet the rest of the group?"
Marin nodded sheepishly. "Right, yeah. Good idea."
She yawned suddenly, the long day finally catching up to her. I glanced at the clock - nearly midnight.
"Come on," I said, picking her up in my arms. "Let's get some sleep. We can figure out the details in the morning."
As we settled into the futon, Marin curled up against my side, head resting on my chest.
"Hey Akira?" she murmured, already half-asleep.
"Mm?"
"Thanks for supporting me."
I pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "Anytime, Marin. Sweet dreams."
