Clary couldn't believe her eyes; the woman she had quarrelled with earlier this morning was standing before her. It was unnerving enough to see her at the stadium, but the fact that she appeared in Leandre's room sent a shiver down her spine. Her intuition warned her that something was amiss. When she turned to Knox, his face contorted in disgust, and his eyes remained fixated on Astraea.

Astraea thrust the door open with a resounding crash as it slammed against the wall. Clary's body jolted in surprise at the thunderous noise.

Astraea's eyes darted to Clary and Knox for a fleeting moment before she strode towards the table. With a deft motion, she placed the bag of fresh fruit on the table. She then snatched up the fruit bag that was already on the table and casually tossed it into the nearby bin.
