Chương 3: Magnificent!!
'It's been a week since I freed Felicia and others. Felicia scared off the carriage driver and we took over the carriage, with my control over the horse. And now, we are inside a cave that Clint and team founded on a mountain range. We had some difficulties in taking the carriage with us, so we abandoned it after taking the valuables, food and water from it. The carriage horse which turned out to be a zorse, a different kind of breed in this world, similar to zebras but still different. He also demanded for a name after forming a connection with me, so I named him Marty. But right now I am facing a problem, we are running out of food for all of us.' Sighing to himself, Lyonel snuggled closer to Felix and Fenix to get a well deserved nap.
A couple of minutes later, Felicia the mother shadow cat came into the cave and nudged Lyonel. Opening his eyes in a little bit of irritation, Lyonel asked Felicia ~What?~
~I couldn't find any prey that I could hunt, I say we kill the zorse and eat it.~ Felicia said with a no nonsense voice.
Marty, who heard this raised his head and shouted out ~I don't know what you said, but I disagree!~
~What he said.~ Lyonel replied through his mind, shaking his head he asked her ~Do you think that we should go upstream to look for any prey?~
~We can go upstream, after those hawks return from their scouting.~ Saying so Felicia cradled Felix, Fenix and Lyonel.
Since his nap time was disturbed, Lyonel decided to use some of the tricks that he had come up with his beast master power. He closed his eyes and started to concentrate on the connection that he has with Clint, after a couple of minutes of trial and error, he finally made the connection stable and he started to see the dark shadowy mountainous terrain through Clint's eyes. Smiling at his success, Lyonel thought to himself 'It seems I can do sensory link with my tamed beasts, and probably I can possess them too, but I won't do that without their permission and when it becomes the only way. Well, it's fun to watch everything from the sky, wish I had wings to fly.'
As Lyonel was in the backseat while flying, he started to observe every fine detail that Clint was seeing. After observing over a few minutes, Lyonel saw a cave with a large bone sticking out of it. Seeing that he told Clint through the telepathy ~Clint, check out that cave with a bone protruding out.~
~Roger that!~ Clint replied and hearing his reply, Lyonel thought to himself 'When I formed my connection with them, did they get a glimpse of my memories? That would explain these guy's speaking to me like this.'
Clint started to descend from the skies, and went straight to the cave after making sure that there was nothing that would see him as a prey. When Clint reached the cave with the protruding bone, Lyonel noted that it was only part of something bigger, as the protruding bone was only a small part of a long linkage of bones. Seeing that, Lyonel told Clint ~Clint, come back to the cave with the other two and guide me there.~
~Alright cap.~ Clint replied.
Turning to Felicia, Lyonel said ~Felicia, we are going to check out a new cave that Clint found.~
~Why do we need to go to another cave, isn't this one enough? And how do you know that Clint found a new cave? He's not here.~ Felicia asked Lyonel.
~Well, this cave is small for all of us and a bigger cave will give us more space that we need. Felix and Fenix are growing too, so more space is better. And I can connect myself with you guys if I want to and see what you all see.~ Lyonel told her.
Looking at his eyes, Felicia said ~Now the truth. Out with it.~
'Sigh.... She finds out everything easily. Is it the cat's instincts?' Looking at her, Lyonel said ~Clint found a bone structure with a protruding bone, and it was only a tip. There's something large in there and I would like to find out what it is.~ Lyonel told her.
"Grrrr." Making a small noise, Felicia made Felix and Fenix rise from their slumber, then looking at Lyonel she said ~It's going to be dangerous, but I'll be leading this. If I get a whiff of danger, then we are getting out of there.~
~Okay.~ Lyonel said out loud with a smile.
With that decided they waited for Clint and the rest to arrive after informing Maximus that they will be moving to a different cave. A couple of minutes later, Clint came into their cave along with Katar and Shayera.
Looking at Clint, Lyonel asked through telepathy ~How far is it?~
~It will only take a minute of flying from here.~ Clint said.
~Alright. Felicia, make sure that you won't drop me.~ Lyonel told Felicia as he climbed over her back along with Felix and Fenix.
~Yeah, yeah. Lead the way Clint. If you are not coming, then we will leave you here Marty.~ Felicia told both Clint and Marty. Clint, taking that as his cue flapped his wings and took off into the skies.
Marty who was lying down abruptly stood up and looked at Felicia. He said ~Like hell you are leaving me here. I'm coming with you guys.~
Felicia, not minding the ramblings of Marty, started to follow Clint, Katar and Shayera were flanking Lyonel and others in the sky to watchout for any kind of danger that may approach them. After some difficult walking through the uneven surface, the team reached the cave with the protruding bone.
~Can you see anything inside?~ Lyonel asked Felicia as she could easily see in dark places.
~This looks like the tail of a long creature as I can't see where this bone ends.~ Felicia replied and asked him ~Are you sure that we should go inside the cave? Because if the skeleton of creature is this large, then think about what might have killed it.~
~It died of old age.~ Lyonel said in an instant after Felicia stopped talking.
Squinting her eyes, she asked ~How do you know that?~
~It's just a feeling I got as I saw the bones with my own eyes. I can't explain it, I just know it.~ Shaking his head, Lyonel said ~Let's go in.~
Shaking her head, Felicia started to move into the cave with Marty closely following her. As they delved deeper into the cave from the entrance, Lyonel thought to himself 'I can see in dark places, it's like having a passive night vision. Long spines connected to rib-like bones, these bone structures look similar to that of a snake. Is it the anaconda from the movies?'
As he started to observe the cave, making sure that he wouldn't miss any details, he saw leg bones attached to the spine and rib bones. Seeing that piqued his interest and he looked ahead, which made his eyes wide in amazement.
'Long spinal cord, rib bones attached to the spine, two pairs of legs connected to the spine, a long skull with sharp teeth and an antler-like horn on top of the skull. There's no doubt about it.' Urgently patting on Felicia's head, he said ~Felicia stop. I need to get down!~
~Why? We can't move forward any way as whoever these bones belonged to is blocking our path as it is curled up, like it's protecting something.~ Felicia told as she lowered her body to the ground so that Lyonel could get down from her back.
Climbing down from her back, Lyonel said ~I know that. But this is a magnificent creature. I need to observe it more closely.~
Looking at the bone structure, Felicia said ~I haven't seen any creature that would resemble this bone structure. What is it?~
~Dragon!~ Lyonel said out loud enough for his companions to hear, and he didn't notice them getting frozen on the spot as soon as he uttered the word dragon.
Walking up to the skull of the dragon, Lyonel touched it and thought to himself 'This is definitely the bones of a dragon, and it looks just like Shenron from Dragon Ball! The dragon died while protecting something even in its old age, so does that mean that there are dragon balls in this cave?'
