Chương 391: Worries me
"Sorry for keeping you waiting Natasha" said Chloe with an apologetic smile as she walked to her car where Natasha was waiting.
"It's fine Chloe, are you done?" asked Natasha.
"That I am, let's go home, it's getting late" said Chloe with a smile as Natasha nodded as they entered the car and Chloe's phone rang.
"Excuse me" said Chloe as she answered the call.
"Yes, what is it Ethan?" asked Chloe.
"I told you where it was, check in the kitchen drawer on the right" said Chloe.
"Don't you dare start with that nonsense Ethan, I know you know where it is, stop calling me for unnecessary things" said Chloe in an irritated tone.
"I don't want to hear it, you better be in bed by the time I get home" said Chloe.
"Yes *sigh*, yes I am coming home right now, so you better finish with that project, brush your teeth and be in bed before I step foot into that house young man" said Chloe.
"Where is your father?" asked Chloe.
"Tell him that he should help you find it" said Chloe.
"I have to drive now Ethan, be a good boy and do what I asked you to" said Chloe as she ended the call and she sighed.
"I'm sorry about that Natasha" said Chloe as she turned to look at Natasha as he buckled her seatbelt and started the car.
"It's alright Chloe, you seem stressed" said Natasha as they drove.
"Well yes I am, I mean we have things pending at the farm, I have several assignments to turn in, and worst of all Ethan is acting up more than usual" said Chloe with a sigh.
"Is he now? He's always so nice and polite" said Natasha as Chloe started to laugh.
"Well he has everyone fooled but not him, I know how naughty my son can be, trust me, it's better you shut him down before he has a chance to do anything" said Chloe as she shook her head.
"Wow" said Natasha as she knew Chloe was right, no one could know a child better than the child's parents.
"I don't know what's up with him, but he seems to be getting worse with age" said Chloe with a sigh.
"He's rude to me especially, he takes every chance to be naughty, and he doesn't listen like he used to" said Chloe.
"I'm just tired of it, it worries me honestly" said Chloe as she sighed.
"I'm sorry if it seems like I am just pouring out everything Natasha" said Chloe.
"No, it's fine Chloe I understand, sometimes, you just need someone to talk to" said Natasha as Chloe smiled and agreed.
"And I can't say that I know how you feel" said Natasha.
"Of course you don't Joy is a sweetheart" said Chloe as she laughed and Natasha laughed as well.
"Yes she might be, but even then she has times when she's extremely naughty, children are just like that sometimes" said Natasha.
"True, but my Ethan is just something else, I don't know what's going on with him, it seems like he just basically loves to argue with me at this point" said Chloe.
"Hmm, well have you tried talking to him, and asking him why he's acting up?" asked Natasha.
"I know it sound wrong to say that I have no time for that, but I really don't have time to waste on his tantrums, I know Ethan, and he doesn't like talking, especially about his feelings, I am sure that he will not answer me if I do" said Chloe.
"That may be true, but you can try, maybe he just needs to talk to you" said Natasha.
"Maybe I should try, but apart from throwing tantrums, he can be a big baby at times" said Chloe.
"Is he like that with Neil?" asked Natasha.
"No, not at all, if anything the two of them are closer than ever, they are tightly knitted, they push me out, which makes me feel like the overbearing, nagging, mother and wife" said Chloe.
"Like my mother in law all over again" said Chloe as Natasha laughed.
"Natasha, I'm not joking, I tell you that my mother in law is something else, when Neil and I first got married, she came to visit, and not a friendly visit, she demanded several things of me, she's the true nagging one, and now I feel like her" said Chloe.
"Oh you are not nagging Chloe, if anything, you like for things to be put in order, I think what you need to try to find out is when Ethan started misbehaving like this" said Natasha.
"Well I know that, it was when I started working again" said Chloe.
"Really?" asked Natasha.
"Really, once I started working for you, he just got so hostile" said Chloe.
"Maybe he got hostile because he doesn't want you to work" said Natasha.
"I know that for a fact, he's just selfish, he wants me home at all times" said Chloe as she shook her head.
"Wait, let's not look at It like he doesn't want you to work, maybe it's because he doesn't want you to leave" said Natasha.
"Maybe it's because he misses you" said Natasha as Chloe laughed.
"I doubt that" said Chloe.
"But maybe he does, I remember when I left for a long trip, Joy missed me so much, maybe that's the same with Ethan, he must miss you, but he won't tell you" said Natasha.
"If you put it like that, you are right, but instead of throwing tantrums he should just tell me, it's not like I am going to neglect him" said Chloe.
"Well maybe he feels like you do" said Natasha as Chloe sighed.
"I don't, at the end of the day he's still my son, and I love him dearly, I would never leave him or neglect him, he's the most important person in my life" said Chloe as Natasha smiled.
"Then tell him that, he may need to hear it from you" said Natasha.
"You are right Natasha, thank you" said Chloe as she smiled, Natasha had made her realize that she had indeed been neglecting Ethan's feelings.
"Anytime Chloe, we moms need some mom to mom advice sometimes" said Natasha as she laughed and Chloe laughed.
"That we do, we just need some extra help sometimes" said Chloe with a smile.
"I agree with you" said Natasha as she smiled.

Ethan heard faint voices coming down from downstairs as he quickly closed the book he was reading and he put it under his pillow, he ran out of bed to switch off the lights and he ran back into his bed as he pretended to be asleep.
Chloe walked up the stairs as she opened the door and switched on the lights as Ethan continued to pretend as if he was asleep.
Chloe walked to his bed as she smiled and knew that he was not actually sleeping, that was very obvious.
She ran her fingers through his hair as she smiled.
"You need a haircut" said Chloe as Ethan quickly opened his eyes.
"No!" he said as Chloe smiled at him.
"Aha so you are awake" said Chloe.
"I don't want a haircut, you will shave off all my hair, and I look horrible bald" said Ethan as he sat up straight In bed.
"Oh relax Ethan, I won't do that, I only did that last time because you got lice" said Chloe as Ethan kept quiet.
"I saw your teachers today, and they tell me that you are doing very well" said Chloe with a smile.
"But you are failing history, why?" asked Chloe.
"It's boring" said Ethan.
"Just because something is boring Ethan doesn't mean you shouldn't try" said Chloe.
"I want you to try, and I want to see improvement on your next report card" said Chloe as Ethan frowned as Chloe sat on his bed.
"Are you angry with me Ethan?" asked Chloe as Ethan looked at her.
"Yes" he said clearly.
"Why?" asked Chloe as Ethan went silent.
"Is it because I go to work?" asked Chloe as Ethan said nothing.
"Is it because I leave early and come back late?" asked Chloe.
"You should stay home" said Ethan.
"I can't Ethan, I can't just stay home all day doing nothing, I want to work" said Chloe.
"You don't have time for us anymore, you are always working, or reading, it's not fair, you leave me and dad alone all day" said Ethan.
"I'm sorry Ethan, I might not always have free time, but that doesn't mean that I don't love you, I love you so much, you are my son, and you will always be" said Chloe as she hugged Ethan and he stopped frowning.
"But you never watch tv with me, or have dinner with us" said Ethan.
"I promise to make more time for us okay?" asked Chloe.
"You promise?" asked Ethan as Chloe nodded.
"Fine" said Ethan as Chloe smiled.
"But that doesn't mean that you should be naughty, I don't like it when you don't listen, when you are rude" said Chloe.
"Promise me that you won't be rude or naughty again, and I promise to spend more time with you, just me and you, and not your dad" said Chloe.
"I promise" said Ethan.
"Thank you, now go to sleep, it's late now" said Chloe as she gave him a kiss on the forehead.
"You want me to tuck you in?" asked Chloe as Ethan nodded and she tucked him in.
"Goodnight Ethan" said Chloe as she smiled.
"Goodnight mom" replied Ethan as Chloe switched off the lights and left.
