Chương 40: One and only
Natasha was in her office, she was thinking, with what happened last time at the shooting range, that was dangerous, she could not allow her past trauma to haunt her, if she had let go of the gun and it was fully loaded, that would have spelt doom for she and Pete.
She had to find a way to stop herself from being startled by a gunshot noise, or else if she made a scene today, Pete would end up stopping her from learning how to use a gun.
Natasha had an idea, she thought that maybe she would be able to let herself relax, if she would be able to hear gunshot noises more frequently.
Natasha opened her laptop, and she began to type, she was sure what she was about to do would help her greatly.
The main purpose for her learning to use a gun was to protect herself, and when she was sure that she could use a gun, she would have to get her own personal gun, to have at her side, just in case.
Natasha scrolled down until she found what she was looking for and she smiled, she closed her laptop and she stood up, she was going to go and find Joy, she did promise to spend the entire day with her until she had to go out.
Natasha opened her office door and she walked into the hallway, she happened to see a certain maid cleaning the windows as she passed by.
Lexi has seen Natasha come out of her office, and she did not want to get into any more trouble, so she had held her head down so that Natasha would not see her, and she made sure to look very serious in cleaning the windows to Natasha would pay no attention to her.
She was now scared of the Madam, and with her still not done serving her first punishment, she was not ready to get another one added to it, but her plan was a fail because Natasha had recognized her already.
"Lexi" called Natasha as she looked at Lexi and Lexi was immediately startled that she almost dropped the wet cloth she was cleaning the windows with.
"Ahh Good morning Madam" said Lexi as she turned around quickly and she bowed at Natasha and she greeted her, she did not want to be accused of being disrespectful again.
Natasha could notice that Lexi's eyes were red and puffy, which meant that she had being crying recently, for a woman with such a sharp tongue she sure was a cry baby, thought Natasha to herself.
"Good Morning Lexi" said Natasha as she replied to Lexi's greeting.
Natasha found it very funny how Lexi's attitude towards her changed, but she did not show that on the outside, she remained looking cold and serious.
"What are you doing here?" asked Natasha a she could clearly see that Lexi was cleaning the windows.
"I am cleaning the windows Madam" replied Lexi.
"I see" said Natasha.
"Well then carry on" said Natasha.
"Thank you Madam" said Lexi as she bowed and she continued with her work as Natasha walked down the stairs.
"Oh Good Morning Alfred" said Natasha as she saw Alfred passing by.
"Good Morning Madam" said Alfred as he smiled.
"I like the changes done in my office" said Natasha as she smiled.
"You are welcome Madam, it's my pleasure" said Alfred as he smiled.
"If you would please excuse me Madam, there was something broken in the bodyguard's quarters, and I must attend to it urgently" said Alfred.
"Oh that is no problem Alfred, you may go" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Thank you Madam" said Alfred as he smiled and he walked away.
…
"Michael??" asked Dom, Nine, Charlie and Lia, as they could not believe who they were seeing right now with their own two pairs of eyes.
"The one and only" said a dark haired man named Michael as he did not even care for the shocked expression on his friends faces, and he pulled out a chair from one of the unoccupied tables and he put his chair right in between Dom and Lia's
"But how are you here??" asked Lia.
"When did you return??" asked Charlie as he reached out across the table to pinch Michael to make sure that they were not all hallucinating.
"Charlie, It's me in the flesh" said Michael as he laughed, he was enjoying the surprised looks on all their faces.
"When did you return Michael?" asked Dom as he looked at him.
"Oh well this morning, I finished the mission easy peasy" he said with a smile.
"Okay and how did you find us?" asked Lia
"How did you even know that we would all be here?" she asked.
"Well I hacked your location" said Michael like it was not a big deal.
"But my location is not even on" said Lia as she checked her phone.
"Mhmm mine too" said Dom as he checked his phone, and so did Nine.
"Who even turns on their location??" asked Lia.
"Charlie!" said Lia, Dom and Nine as they all turned to look at Charlie, who laughed sheepishly at the accusing faces of his friend.
"Sorry guys" said Charlie as he laughed shamefacedly and he took out his phone and turned off his location.
"Why did you not tell us that you were coming?" asked Lia.
"I wanted to surprise you" said Michael.
"And besides, I should be asking you that question Lia" said Michael.
"When did you return?" he asked.
"Just last week Saturday" said Lia.
"I am back for good now" she said as she smiled.
"Ahh I see" said Michael.
"Well welcome back" he said as he smiled.
"I should be saying the same for you" said Lia as she laughed.
"Nine" said Michael as he looked at Nine.
"Michael" said Nine as he looked like he did not care that he had returned at all, but deep down Michael knew that what Nine meant to say was "Thank God you are back, because Charlie has been driving me crazy all this while" and that thought made Michael laugh.
"Welcome back brother" said Charlie with a smile.
"Thank you, Thank you" said Michael.
"Welcome back" said Dom as he smiled.
"I am sure that I do not need to ask if you guys missed me or not" said Michael as he laughed.
"You know it" said Charlie.
"Anyway, I am famished, have you guys ordered yet?" asked Michael.
"Yes we have" replied Lia.
"But not to worry, we have not been waiting long" said Lia.
"Waiter" called Lia as she waved to the waiter who came as soon as he heard her.
"Yes Miss, can I get you anything?" asked the waiter.
"Oh yes, my friend here would like to order" said Lia as she smiled.
"Okay, Sir, what can I get you?" asked the waiter.
"Who's paying?" asked Michael as he looked at his friend.
"Dom is" replied Charlie.
"Oh okay then" said Michael.
"So in that case, I would like a well done steak, actually make is three well done steaks and a chicken salad" said Michael.
"Okay Sir" said the waiter as he wrote down the order, he felt really bad for the person who was paying, what sort of human being ate three steaks???
"Your order will be ready soon" said the waiter as he walked away.
"Wow Charlie, well done" said Dom as he looked at Charlie.
"You have finally succeeded in making me bankrupt" said Dom as he face-palmed himself.
"Oh don't worry Dom, this is your welcome present to me" said Michael as he smiled.
"Mhmmm" said Dom as he was not doubting the loyalty of these so called friends of his.
"Michael I don't think you will be able to finish three steaks" said Lia
"Oh don't worry Lia, I will" said Michael.
"And even if I don't, I can always get a doggy bag" said Michael.
"Umm Mike, I don't think this place does doggy bags" said Lia
"Well then, they will just need to start" said Michael as he laughed.
"Right" said Lia.
"You are a true carnivore Michael" said Dom.
"Not only are you eating not one, not two, but three steaks, you are also going to add a chicken salad to that" said Dom as he could not believe his friend.
"You need to start eating healthy" said Dom.
"I know that Dom, and this is why I ordered the chicken salad" said Michael.
"Haha the key word there is chicken" said Lia a she laughed, this was just too funny.
"Exactly!" said Michael.
"Everyone knows that chicken is healthier than beef" said Michael.
"And I am glad that you did not go to medical school" said Nine as he spoke up, after silence, and everyone started to laugh.
"I cannot refute that" said Michael as he laughed, he had missed his friends a lot.
