"Come on Joy let's go" said Lulu with a smile as she held Meggie in one hand and Joy held her free hand as they walked to the park and Joy skipped happily, she could not wait to get to the park.
"Aunt Lulu, did you feed Meggie this morning?" asked Joy.
"I didn't but Alfred did" said Lulu with a smile.
"Okay Aunt Lulu" said Joy with a smile, she had not been able to feed Meggie this morning since she had to go to school this morning.
"So what are you going to do at the park Joy?" asked Lulu with a smile.
"Well I am going to go on the swings, and play with Meggie" said Joy as she giggled.
"*Gasp* Look Aunt Lulu, there is Ethan and he's in the park with Pluto, come on" said Joy as she ran faster as she saw Ethan playing with Pluto as Lulu followed after her.
"Hi Ethan!" said Joy with a smile as she ran to Ethan who was playing fetch with Pluto.
"Hi" said Ethan as he sighed and turned to look at Joy as Pluto ran to Ethan with the stick in her mouth as she dropped it at his feet.
"Hi Pluto" said Joy with a smile as Pluto looked at her and barked as Joy giggled and bent down to pet Pluto who was barking.
"Hi Ethan, how are you?" asked Lulu with a smile as she looked at Ethan.
"Hello Aunt Lulu, I am good, and how are you?" asked Ethan with a smile.
"I am golden, Is that the famous Pluto that I have heard so much about?" asked Lulu as she laughed and Ethan laughed as he nodded.
"Wow, she's such a cutie, now I want one" said Lulu as she laughed and she petted Pluto as Meggie clucked and Lulu's phone rang as she removed it from her pocket.
"Oh it's my mom, Joy stay here and play with Ethan okay?" asked Lulu with a smile.
"Okay Aunt" said Joy with a smile as Lulu put Meggie down and answered her call.
"Hi Mom" said Lulu with a smile.
"No, I'm just at the park with Joy's what is it?" asked Lulu as she smiled and she walked to the bench nearby and sat down so she could watch Ethan and Joy.
"What's with the chicken?" asked Ethan in confusion as he pointed to Meggie who was clucking.
"Oh I forgot to tell you, Ethan this is my pet chicken Meggie, Meggie this is Ethan my friend, and that is Pluto his puppy" said Joy as she giggled and introduced Ethan and Meggie.
"You can't be serious, a chicken isn't a pet" said Ethan.
"Her name is Meggie, and I am very serious, my Grandpappy bought her for me, and then my Uncle Charlie built her a pen of her own" said Joy with a smile as Ethan could not believe what he was hearing right now, a chicken was no pet.
"This is just stupid, that's a literal chicken, it could peck your eye out you know that?" asked Ethan.
"Meggie would never do that, she is a very good chicken, right Meggie?" asked Joy as she looked at Meggie who was busy clucking.
"You know that she can't hear you right? She's a chicken" said Ethan.
"She can hear me" said Joy as Ethan scoffed.
"Whatever" said Ethan as he did not have time for this, he came out here to play with Pluto, and yet, he was just more convinced that Joy was a big baby.
"Anyway, what are you doing with a chicken in the park?" asked Ethan.
"Oh I am going to walk Meggie" said Joy with a smile as she brought out her pink leash from her pocket as she clipped it on the little pink collar on Meggie's neck.
"You can't be serious" said Ethan as he looked at Joy with his mouth open.
"I am very serious Ethan" said Joy as she started to walk Meggie as Meggie followed after her.
"Dummy, that's a literal chicken, not a dog, you can't walk a chicken!" said Ethan as he followed after her.
"I can, and I will, I am walking Meggie right now" said Joy.
"There is no difference between a chicken and a dog, they are the same" said Joy as she smiled and Meggie gently followed after her.
"Dummy, you really need to think, that's a chicken, it's food" said Ethan.
"You can make chicken wings with that chicken" said Ethan.
"Don't say that Ethan, and she has a name, It's Meggie, call her Meggie" said Joy as Ethan scoffed and Pluto started to bark aggressively as that startled Meggie and she began to cluck as Pluto chased after her and Joy accidentally let go of the leash as Meggie started to run away from Pluto.
"Meggie, Meggie, don't be scared, Pluto won't hurt you" said Joy in a panic as the two pets ran far away.
"Pluto, stop bad girl, bad girl, stop chasing Meggie, and get back here" said Ethan as Pluto turned back and looked at him as she barked.
"You heard me bad girl, get back here now!" said Ethan as Pluto ran to him and she made sad noises.
"Don't chase Meggie, that's bad, very bad" said Ethan as Joy ran to carry Meggie who was shivering.
"Sorry Meggie, sorry" said Joy.
"Bad Pluto, bad, no chasing chickens" said Ethan as Pluto made whimpering noises and she faced her head down as if in shame.
"Yes it is bad, don't do it again Pluto" said Ethan as he patted Pluto as she barked as if understanding what he was saying.
"Thank you Ethan" said Joy with a smile.
"I just don't want to be the one held responsible for your chicken's early death" said Ethan as Joy giggled.
"How long do chickens live for Ethan?" asked Joy.
"I have no idea, I am no chicken expert" said Ethan.
"Okay, I will ask my mommy then" said Joy as she smiled and Ethan shook his head.
…
Natasha's phone rang as she picked it up without looking at who was calling.
"Hello" said Natasha as she put her phone to her ear.
"Hello devochka (girl) how are you?" asked Romanoff with a smile.
"Good Romanoff, to what do I owe this call of yours today?" asked Natasha as she did not know why, but she felt that Romanoff's voice sounded different, happier.
"Jeanie wants me to ask you if you are free for dinner tonight" said Romanoff.
"Jeanie?" asked Natasha.
"Yes my daughter" said Romanoff.
"You gave her a nickname?" asked Natasha as she smiled.
"No, she asked me to call her that" said Romanoff.
"Liar!" said Natasha.
"No she didn't, you gave her that nickname" said Natasha as she laughed.
"You know that it is rude to call your elder a liar devochka (girl)" said Romanoff in an irritated tone.
"Well elders shouldn't lie to the younger" said Natasha as she laughed.
"You and Jean have gotten really close haven't you?" asked Natasha as she smiled.
"She's my daughter, the only family I have left, besides you…" said Romanoff.
"Hmm, right, and she loves you too, you know Romanoff, just say you love her, she is your daughter after all" said Natasha.
"Are you coming to dinner or not?" asked Romanoff.
"Unfortunately I can't, I have a lot to do" said Natasha.
"You can definitely make an adjustment devochka (girl), Jeanie insisted that I ask you myself so you don't say no" said Romanoff.
"Well I'm sorry I can't, there is a lot to do over here, and Joy just got a new pet" said Natasha.
"Interesting, is it a fish?" asked Romanoff.
"Why do you think it's a fish?" asked Natasha.
"Because devochka (girl) you cannot get a cat, or dog, or hamster, you are allergic to their fur, just like your mother" said Romanoff.
"Romanoff, how much do you know?" asked Natasha as she could not believe this.
"I know enough devochka (girl)" said Romanoff.
"And yet you don't know that I am married" said Natasha as she scoffed and Romanoff laughed.
"She got a chicken" said Natasha.
"Nice, fresh eggs" said Romanoff.
"Why does everyone keep saying that?" asked Natasha.
"In Russia, many families keep chickens, or at least mine did as a little boy" said Romanoff.
"Of course they do" said Natasha.
"Anyway I will personally apologize to Jean for not being able to make it to dinner, I will make it up to her another time" said Natasha.
"Got it" said Romanoff.
"I have to go now Romanoff, enjoy dinner with your daughter, the only person who can put up with you" said Natasha.
"And what about you devochka (girl)" said Romanoff.
"I only tolerate you since I have no other choice" said Natasha as Romanoff laughed.
"Bye Romanoff" said Natasha as she ended the call.
"So what did she say Dad?" asked Jean with a smile as she walked into the room with a cup of coffee in her hand.
"She cannot make it, she apologizes Jeanie" said Romanoff simply.
"Aww, but okay" said Jean as she laughed and Romanoff smiled.
