Harry woke up with a long yawn, his eyes watery as he blinked against the soft morning light filtering through the curtains. He sat up slowly, feeling the warmth of the bed beneath him, and glanced at the clock on the wall. Nearly twelve hours had passed since he had collapsed onto the bed.
'Not gonna lie, that was the best sleep I've had in years,' he thought, his gaze shifting back to the ultra-soft bed. Stretching his stiff body, he felt the fatigue from the battle drain away. For a brief moment, he savored the peacefulness of the room.
His hand hovered over the system panel, and with a flick of his wrist, it appeared before him. There were still ten minutes left for the system upgrade to complete.
'Woke up at the perfect time, didn't I?' Harry thought, yawning once more. The quietness of the room beckoned him back to sleep, but he resisted the urge, knowing he'd need to be alert once the upgrade finished.
Another yawn escaped him, and for a moment, he considered just lying back down. But the anticipation of the upgrade kept him sitting upright, waiting for the next step in his journey.
Harry finally shook off the sleepiness that clung to him. He blinked against the drowsiness that fogged his mind, feeling the softness of the bed almost pulling him back down. The excitement of the system upgrade hung in the air, pushing him to stay awake and focused. With a determined shake of his head, he sat up, his heart racing at the thought of what was about to happen. Each passing moment felt slow, but with every second, he grew more eager to tackle the challenges ahead.
As he settled into the quiet of the room, he took a moment to collect his thoughts. Then, his expression turned serious. With a quick motion, he pulled out a sealing paper from his system storage. The upgrade didn't affect the paper, which looked small and unassuming, but he knew how important it was. This sealing paper, from the famous Uzumaki bloodline, could tell him if someone was manipulating his mind.
Harry's breath caught as he activated the seal, watching in alarm as one-fourth of the paper turned black. He sighed in relief when he saw that the black area wasn't growing, and was the same as past few days.
..
....
A few days earlier as he was bathing, while enjoying a beautiful view thanks to Wei, Harry had decided to check out the system shop. He rarely took time for himself, so this was a nice break. While browsing through the various items, he found this sealing paper. The description caught his eye because he knew there were powerful people in the Marvel universe who could easily control minds. He wanted to be prepared, so he bought it for just 1,000 points—a small price for peace of mind.
When he activated the paper, he found out that one forth of the paper had turned black. The black mark had shocked him which actually depicted the influence of external energy on his brain.
The anger and confusion that followed felt overwhelming. He wasn't someone to let such an invasion go unchecked, and yet, here he was, facing the grim reality of being mentally manipulated. His thoughts immediately turned to the Ancient One, the only person who had the power to control him like this. How could she, the so-called protector of Earth, betray him? Maybe she had done so because she was the protector of the Earth. The thought made his skin crawl. He recalled how he had calmed down under her guidance, but he wondered whether he had truly changed or if she had molded him into someone more submissive.
As he reflected on his time at Kamar Taj, a surge of hatred washed over him. He despised being controlled, especially by someone like the Ancient One. Taking a deep breath, he tried to steady his racing heart. He couldn't just be angry; he needed to think clearly and regain his sense of self before it slipped away.
He replayed his memories, examining each interaction with the Ancient One for signs of influence. It felt like he was trapped in a maze, with each path leading back to her. This was driving him mad. He questioned whether he had genuinely matured or if her manipulation had hidden his rebellious spirit beneath a calm exterior. He had never been one to care about others' opinions, yet here he was, doubting every decision he made and wondering how she would view his choices.
'Son of a bitch,' he thought, frustration boiling inside him. He clenched his fists and focused on calming his breathing. Anger could lead to rash actions, and he couldn't afford to make mistakes. The Ancient One hadn't completely taken over his mind, which offered some relief. Still, he couldn't shake the feeling of unease about her motives. Why hadn't she fully controlled him? Did she think he wouldn't notice, or was it a slow, stealthy way of manipulating him or se was unable to control him quickly because of the system?
Even now a part of his mind was trying to comfort him that her manipulation might have been a strategic move to guide him toward what she thought was best. This also led a bubble of fear envelope his mind as his brain was trying to normalise mental manipulation.
In the back of his mind, he felt a glimmer of hope that the system and his abilities had thwarted her plans. He needed to act carefully, gathering information while pretending to be a loyal apprentice. Maybe after the system upgrade, he would find a way to free himself from this unwanted influence. He just needed to hang on long enough to regain his footing.
With renewed resolve, Harry promised himself to be cautious during his time in Kamar Taj. He wouldn't let his guard down. The mission to capture the Tesseract offered the perfect chance to escape.
'Maybe the past quests by the system were warning me to get out this damned place?' Harry couldn't help but thank the system otherwise he wouldn't have been able to know that he was being slowly controlled.
..
....
(Back to the present)
Entangled in all these thoughts, five minutes passed quickly and a series of notifications appeared in front of him.
[System Upgrade: Complete]
[System has been upgraded to Level 2]

Harry opened the system shop, his fingers moving quickly. His heart raced as he searched through the options, looking for a way to break free from the mind control that had been bothering him for days. He couldn't afford to waste a second longer.
'There has to be something here to help me. I won't let her control me anymore,' he thought, his anger still bubbling under the surface.
After a few tense moments, he found what he was looking for—a seal to remove mind control, costing 2,000 points. He felt a wave of relief as he bought it right away, knowing it was the first step to getting his freedom back.
'Two thousand points? A small price to get my mind back,' he thought with a smirk, feeling the tension leave him.
But Harry didn't stop there. As he continued browsing, another item grabbed his attention: an Uzumaki protection seal for 4,000 points. This one would protect his mind for a whole year from any mental attacks and even alert him if someone tried to mess with his thoughts again. It was more expensive, but Harry knew it was worth it.
'No one is messing with my mind again. This seal will make sure of that,' he thought, feeling a bit more hopeful.
Taking a deep breath, he pulled the removal seal from his system inventory and carefully placed it on his forehead. As it activated, a warm feeling spread through his mind, followed by a sudden rush of clarity. The fog that had clouded his thoughts lifted, and for the first time in days, he felt like himself again.
'Finally… I can think clearly,' he thought, savoring the feeling. His emotions were raw, but they were his own, untouched by anyone else.
Once the mind control was completely gone, Harry quickly applied the second seal. He pressed the Uzumaki protection seal to his forehead, feeling its energy wrap around his mind like a protective shield. A sense of security filled him, knowing no one could control his thoughts for the next year without him knowing.
With the manipulation gone, Harry's mind turned to something he had been avoiding—his friends. He couldn't shake the question: were the friendships he made at Kamar Taj real, or were they just another trick by the Ancient One? The idea that they could've been fake made his stomach twist.
'Was any of it real? Did I really connect with them, or was it all part of her plan?' he wondered, uncertainty creeping in.
After putting on the protection seal, Harry felt a sense of relief when he realized his friendships were real. The seal helped him see clearly, and he could feel for sure that the bonds he had with his friends were genuine, not some illusion created by the Ancient One.
'At least that's real,' he thought, feeling a bit calmer. "Thank god."
But doubt quickly returned. 'What if the Ancient One manipulated them into being my friends?' His heart sank at the thought. The idea that they might have been pushed into those relationships left him uneasy.
'No, I need to be sure. I can't just guess,' Harry decided, narrowing his eyes. He thought about using the same seal on his friends to see if they were also under her control. If they were being manipulated, he had to know.
'There's only one way to find out,' he thought, bracing himself for the task ahead. He wouldn't stop until he knew for sure if his friendships were real or if they had been twisted all along.
Without wasting any more time, Harry purchased four Uzumaki sealing papers designed to reveal whether someone was being manipulated, each costing 500 points, totaling 2,000 points. The price had dropped after the system's latest upgrade. He barged out of his room, his mind set on confirming the truth about his friends. It was still early in the morning, and everyone was still asleep, but Harry had no intention of waiting.
He knocked quickly on the door of the room adjacent to his. After a moment, Wei came out, yawning groggily. Without a word, Harry smacked the sealing paper onto Wei's face.
"Dude?!" Wei shouted in surprise, but Harry ignored him, staring at the paper. After a tense second, seeing no changes on it, Harry let out a sigh of relief.
"It's a tracking paper, checking if we're being tracked by HYDRA or SHIELD," Harry lied smoothly.
"What's wrong with you? You could've just pressed it lightly on my face!" Wei grumbled as he went to remove the paper, but before he could, it disintegrated—it was a one-time-use item.
"Your face is kinda smackable," Harry joked, suppressing his tension. "Now sleep well." Without waiting for a response, he body-flickered out of there.
Harry repeated the process with Mark, Emily, and Emma, relieved to find that none of them were under any manipulation either. He didn't mind using 2,000 points for the people he cared about. At least now, he could rest knowing that the relationships they had built over time were genuine, not twisted by outside influence.
With a bright smile on his face he returned back to his room and opened the system panel again.

At first he had thought that he had to upgrade the shop separately in order to access the bloodlines and higher level ninja techniques, but he was glad to find that once the system upgraded to level 2 each and every function of it has also upgraded to level 2.
'Maybe, I can upgrade the shop without upgrading the system....but it's too costly to do so,' Harry thought as he ignored the massive amount of points required to upgrade the shop to level 3 and focused on the bloodlines available to purchase.
'Hmm, I still can't purchase the Ōtsutsuki Bloodline. Maybe it will unlock when the shop reaches level 3?' he thought, recognizing that he could only buy one bloodline at a time. Although he was disappointed that the price hadn't dropped, he was relieved it hadn't gone up either.
With a renewed smile, Harry glanced back at the Bloodlines and clicked on the Uchiha bloodline, purchasing it without hesitation. The Uchiha bloodline had always been his top choice, but he hadn't been able to get it before. Now, nothing stood in his way of claiming the power he desired.
As he felt the surge of energy coursing through him, Harry knew this was just the beginning of a new chapter in his journey.
