Monday, April 10th, I'm still trying to find someone to hire me, but....nothing worked as what I've expected. "Of course, where did I had my mind, no one would hire maids now days....especially someone like me." I thought, as this sentence kept rolling in my mind, chaining me down and disappointing me. Yet, I kept searching hopelessly, knocking on random doors knowing beforehand I'd be rejected. Hours and hours walking, and still nothing, my legs were getting numb from exhaustion, so I sat down on a bench to take a small break.
A quarter later, I stood up again and went on with my sad tragedy. I slightly started to lose what was remaining of my hope but right before I surrender, I saw what it seemed to be a huge classic villa, there was as well beautiful, fresh, shinning green grass yard reflecting under the rays of the bright sun. In a blink of my eye, I began to recall all the good moments I had with my family in my grandparent's house -since they've got a similar villa to this one but sadly sold after they passed away-. I just had an amazing life, which made me smile for a brief moment before going back to my depressed expressions, and here comes another thought out of nowhere: "What happened to me....my life used to be perfect! Until.....That day....My brother--Andrew and I were so young back then, nearly 6 years old when we lost our father....Now here I am, without a job and lost my dignity, how could it end up this way?! I'm probably just a sign of shame and disappointment to the name of my family...." Thinking about it just shattered my heart into million tiny lost scraps, drowning me in the dark sea of shame, humiliation and guilt. Everything became extremely hazy as tears clouded my vision trying my best to hold them back, though, deep inside, I kept convincing myself that I have to focus on what's going to take place next, not thinking about some old childhood memories....They'll never come back anyway; however, I should not let them hunt me down, so I sat aside my emotions and walked straight toward the front door, hoping, this will be my chance to finally find a job.
I arrived to the porch, as I gently knocked 3 times on the door, I didn't wait for too long until it opened, then a tall black haired man, with red colored eyes that gives him a kind of frightening look, and an obvious frown crossing his face, went out, shirtless and unhappy.
"What?" he asked, he was absolutely unpleased by my sudden visit; again, I had to repeat these some words of embarrassment that yet kept following me even in my dreams, if he doesn't accept, well, I can tell my life will turn to a complete hell, without a simple job to gain money, so I took a deep breath and said:"Good afternoon sir, would you like to get maid services? I agree with any payment and any conditions you ask me for" Simple short. I just stood there, waiting his answer; he stayed quiet for a short time while he scanned around his house, he has let out a sight then turned to me and said:"Fine, you'll be working here for me, it is pain in the butt to clean it all myself, so, why not."
The moment I heard it, I felt an extreme sentiment of happiness and joy, but I kept it hidden and all my reaction was a bright smile. He entered inside and told me to get in too; we took around 10 minutes to show me around, where to go and where it's not allowed to, what to do and what to not, it was actually fairly clean, so it seemed like I won't take much time. We went up stairs and walked down a hallway full of closed doors we just passed by, he entered a room, maybe his, then opened a big closet and wore his suit. Then he walked towards me and said:"So far, that's everything, I would like you to clean around what I showed you, and don't go in any other rooms, got it? Oh, and if a man with green or white hair knocked on the door, let them in."Strangely, he was kind of glitching when he said "don't" accompanied with a deep throaty growl, whatever he was hiding in there, it doesn't concern me in any way, so I nodded my head and replied:"Yes, sir." He didn't seem to respond to 'sir', then he added: "Please, just call me Damien" as he gave me a small smile, I nodded my head again then I've lift up my sleeves, I bowed respectively and heed off to start my work.
I started by washing dishes first, and then I went to wipe the dust off the closets, windows and other furniture, then I finished by scrubbing the floor. It took me much longer than what I've expected, but it doesn't matter, at least, I finally found a small job, and I should not lose it, I spent weeks looking all around the city, I have to keep it until I find a good opportunity to get back my previous job or a new one perhaps.
