Seihi sighed in relief after hearing Drake's response, he hadn't felt so much relieved and happy for a long time. He can finally have someone whom he can trust a bit more than the noble magic knights.
It seems strange that someone would trust a bandit more than the magic knights, but he is different, Seihi doesn't judge people based on their profession or appearance, but rather on their personalities.
Seihi believes that if one can grasp other people's personalities, one can read them like an open book. Easily able to distinguish whom to trust, and he happened to know Drake and his friend well.
"As you can see there aren't any magic knights patrolling in this area, which leaves our village in constant danger of being destroyed by those unknown magical beasts," Seihi paused, the mere thought of seeing their village being destroyed by those unknown magical beasts that appeared a year ago is giving him nightmares. He took a deep breath to calm himself down and continued where he had left off.
"We have no manpower to fend them off if they ever decided to attack.... a- all of the villagers will perish, and this village will be reduced to dust and I-i," his voice began to stutter as hot tears streamed down his face. He squeezed his eyelids shut, hoping that the tears would stop.
"So what you want to say is that despite knowing
the fact that in the near future, the village may be good for gone, and you as a village mayor could only watch helplessly," Seihi nodded at Drake's words, feeling pathetic about not being able to do anything on his own and also worried about the promise he made with his deceased father.
would it be torn apart like a piece of paper?
"Seihi, I'm not good at encouraging others but you're being pathetic now," Drake said in a grave and sedate manner, Startling Seihi for a moment before returning to his usual demeanour. He wiped his tears with his hands in embarrassment.
"Sorry for letting you see my pathetic
side, Drake," Seihi apologize, feeling a bit embarrassed. He had forgotten that Drake dislikes people who cry, which is why whenever he saw someone crying, he'd describe them as pathetic.
'I should try to control my emotions more, it wouldn't be any good if my emotions burst out in front of some noble magic knights,' Seihi reflected on his previous behaviour.
"Hmm," Drake nodded, accepting his apology, but deep inside, he felt a twinge of remorse for his actions, which startled him.
'This feeling... it's been decades since I've felt like this,' he thought as memories of the past began to flash before his eyes. A white-haired teenager appeared in a middle of a road, sorrowful tears streaming down his face, crying aloud, and opposite to him is a tall and muscular middle age man equipped with armour. He was emitting an aura of a strong person.
"p-pls save us, Sir, *sniff...I don't want to die, ple-please save me and my famly, *sniff...please save us from the bandits... please, I...I beg you," the teenager bowed to the man in front of him.
"Pathetic", the man turned around and walked away, leaving the sobbing teenager behind. The teenager name Drake attempted to call the man again but stopped halfway as if he was stuck by a sudden realisation. Clenching his fist, he sat there, and tried to calm himsel-.
"Stop it!," Drake grumbles, rubbing his brows with his right hand, snapping out of the memories.
"Drake?, what happened?," Seihi asked in concern as Drake replied, "I am fine, just a slight headache."
"Let's hear out your answer later, you should take a rest first," Seihi suggested.
"yeah, I pretty much needed a rest...*crack...I am going to rest in our old house and in meantime, you can talk with the two idiots," Drake said, cracking his neck and looking at their old house located on the right side of Seihi's house.
Drake patted Seihi's shoulder before walking towards their old house. It's probably one of the biggest houses in the village.
'I should greet Blaze and Sid,' Seihi thought as he glanced at the gate and saw Blaze walking in with a smile on his face.
"Oh, Seihi, how are you?," Blaze asked with courtesy, as he stand in front of Seihi.
"I'm not doing so well...how about you?," Seihi sighed and looked at Blaze.
"Me?, I am-," Blaze halted, and grabbed the black robe covering his entire body and * swish... he threw the black robe into the air revealing his naked upper body, while the lower is being protected by his brown trouser supported by a belt around his waist. He was also wearing an extra belt to carry his grimoire.
The grimoire in his belt began to radiate brown colour and float in front of Blaze. The three-leaf clover grimoire opened, revealing a page with a spell written on it.
Blaze's muscles began to bulge, and his height also grew along with his muscle as he became 6.8 feet tall. In this form, he is the tallest in the group.
"I am doing well, just like my healthy muscles," Blaze said while flexing his muscles, especially his biceps and abdominals.
"Pfffff, nothing has changed about you in these five years," Seihi laughed.
"what about Sid?, I didn't see him," Seiki asked, to which Blaze titled his head.
"you may have missed him, he is already inside your village," Blaze explained.
Seihi scratched his head in embarrassment, he was so preoccupied with Drake that he failed to notice the things happening around him.
"HEY SEIHI!," Seihi heard a loud voice from behind and recognised it as Sid. He looked back and saw Sid holding a baby in his arms.
"So, this is the baby Drake was talking about," Seihi approached Sid as the two met and greeted each other before looking at the sleeping baby in his arms.
"What is his name?," Seihi asked while observing the baby.
"His name is Tobias, for short you can call him Tobi," Sid answered with a smile.
