Grace found Rose in the midst of the crowd, her eyes bright with pride as she watched Charles interact with his friends.
Charles was laughing and playing, a far cry from the past Charles who always kept to himself with a cold expression that also kept others at bay.
When Rose spotted Grace, her face lit up with a smile. "There you are, my dear. You look stunning."
Grace blushed, feeling slightly self-conscious but grateful. "Thank you, Aunt. This dress… it's incredible."
"It suits you, perfectly," Rose said excitedly, her eyes twinkling with satisfaction.
"But it's drawing so much attention to me, Aunt," Grace complained. She had seen the way everyone has been staring at her, some with admiration and some with envy, especially the young ladies.
What will they say when they find out she was a mere nanny and of no status?
