Lying on the ground lifelessly, the only sign that Dan was still alive was the way his chest expanded and contracted with each breath. Dan let out a sigh.
"Why didn't I think of it?"

Two minutes earlier.
Dan wheezed through the crowd of confused kids. He couldn't tell the chasers from the escapees, so he decided to avoid everyone in sight, which he did.
After three minutes of running, which now seemed like over an hour, Dan had reached his limit. At some point, he tripped and fell to the ground but then picked himself up along with Williams and continued.
Luckily, there was no rule disqualifying anyone who fell to the ground.
"Awesome! Awesome!!! Two minutes left, Dan!" Williams shouted while lying on the floor.
"You...!" Dan picked himself up and bent his back for Williams to climb on top. Dan scanned the area.
