Chương 36: Thor vs The Black Order

"Bang!!"

After Thor landed, Black Dwarf was the first to strike, swinging his strange, transformable war pick down on him.

Although Thor had been brought down by Ebony Maw's telekinesis, that didn't mean the telekinesis had been lifted. At this moment, Thor was still under immense pressure from the force, making it difficult for him to move.

Thor could use his immense strength to force himself into action, but his movements were far less agile, comparable to his pre-weight-loss self.

Thus, when faced with Black Dwarf's heavy strike, Thor couldn't dodge in time. He hastily swung his Stormbreaker axe to meet the attack.

"Bang!!"

The two weapons collided with a resounding crash. The powerful force from Stormbreaker knocked Black Dwarf back more than ten steps, his thick legs plowing two deep furrows into the ground before he finally stopped.

Not far away, Thanos, who was hidden in the shadows observing Thor, couldn't help but feel a twinge of concern. Even if he himself had struck, the result would be similar to what Thor just accomplished with that one blow.

But Thor was fighting under the suppressive force of Ebony Maw's telekinesis, meaning his true power was even greater than what he was currently showing!

"Roar!!"

While Thanos was startled, the battle on Thor's side continued.

Just as Black Dwarf was knocked back, the attacks of Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive arrived one after the other.

Proxima Midnight charged first, her spear aiming straight for Thor's throat. Corvus Glaive followed from behind, stealthily attacking Thor's side with his deadly blade, aiming directly for his kidneys.

"Buzz!!"

"Bang!!"

"Ha!!!"

Facing such a dangerous predicament, Thor swung Stormbreaker in his hand, deflecting the spear aimed at his throat. Without stopping, he redirected the momentum of his swing, bringing the axe to his back to block Corvus Glaive's blade.

"Heh, let me tell you, your sneak attack is far inferior to my brother's," Thor said with a savage grin at Corvus Glaive.

Corvus Glaive's weapon, which could easily pierce Vision's body, couldn't leave so much as a scratch on Stormbreaker. This was evidently not just due to its material but also the magical power imbued within.

"Yaaah!!!"

Although Proxima Midnight's spear had been deflected, she remained close to Thor, refusing to retreat.

Seeing Thor occupied with Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight seized the opportunity to launch another attack. But Thor grabbed her by the chest and, with a roar, used her as a weapon to smash into Corvus Glaive.

"Bang!"

Corvus Glaive was sent flying along with Proxima Midnight, landing hard on the ground some distance away.

Thor had just managed to fend off the enemies in front of him and hadn't even caught his breath before being struck by a meteor chain that came flying from afar, sending him hurtling hundreds of meters away.

(This was the same move Black Dwarf used on Iron Man at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War.)

"Boom!!"

Thor landed heavily on the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust. His Stormbreaker axe was left behind where he had stood earlier.

The meteor chain was actually a transformation of Black Dwarf's war pick. Its iron handle had turned into a chain, one end of which remained tightly gripped in Black Dwarf's hands.

"Roar!!!!"

Black Dwarf roared as he signaled Ebony Maw to lift him into the air with telekinesis.

He gripped the chain with both hands and began swinging Thor back and forth wildly.

"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Thor had been swung around like this once before by Hulk in the arena. This time, however, Black Dwarf's swings were even more violent, giving Thor enough time to react.

"Yaaah!!!!"

After being slammed several times, Thor let out a mighty roar, unleashing a surge of lightning from his body. The burst of power shattered the meteor chain's bindings, sending him crashing to the ground and raising another cloud of dust.

From within the dust cloud, Thor raised his right hand high, intending to summon his beloved Stormbreaker. However, his sharp senses picked up a dangerous presence.

In an instant, Thor dove to the ground. As he did, a steel needle identical to the one that had ambushed him earlier grazed past his scalp, shooting out from the dust cloud.

The close call left Thor drenched in cold sweat. If he hadn't reacted in time, the needle would have pierced his throat.

At this moment, Stormbreaker, responding to Thor's summon, flew into his hand. With the axe in his grasp, Thor leaped into the air and swung it forward, slashing through the dust cloud.

With a sharp clang, another steel needle was deflected by Stormbreaker.

"Huff... Huff... Huff..."

Covered in dirt and drenched in sweat, Thor was breathing heavily. He had never expected that he would be pushed to such a desperate state by Thanos's underlings before even facing the Mad Titan himself.

"Damn Ebony Maw!"

Thor was well aware that his current predicament was due to the telekinetic master's suppressive power, which had significantly hampered his speed and strength. This left him vulnerable to the combined assault of the Black Order.

And the only one among Thanos's forces capable of such telekinetic power was none other than Ebony Maw—the one who had helped slaughter the Asgardian refugees alongside Thanos!

Thinking of this, Thor's body radiated an overwhelming killing intent. Yet, aside from futile rage, there was nothing he could do. He hadn't been able to locate Ebony Maw, who was hiding and launching ambushes from the shadows.

As a result, he could only continue clashing with the tanks and warriors on the front lines while bracing himself for the next strike from the backline.

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"

Suddenly, several blue energy blasts pierced through the dust cloud, hurtling toward Thor.

Hot on their heels was Proxima Midnight's spear. As the spear flew, it split into three, with all three projectiles enveloped in blue light and speeding toward Thor.

Thor, though confused by Proxima Midnight's fury, didn't have time to dwell on it. He focused on the battle, deflecting the energy blasts first before spinning Stormbreaker rapidly in his hands. The spinning axe created a massive circular shield of lightning, as tall as a man, right in front of him.
