As for the energy wings—while they do defy certain laws of physics, they still adhere to some basic principles. A potential solution to boost speed without exacerbating the G-Force effects could be gravity manipulation. This requires further experimentation to verify its effectiveness before integrating it into the Scale Mail's design.
The next challenge is the physical limitations of the human body. The Freedom Scale Mail can theoretically reach speeds far beyond Mach 5, but human physiology imposes a hard limit. Two primary factors interfere: first, the human brain's reaction speed, and second, the sheer physical stress placed on the body. Even with the support of magic and the technology in the armor, the human form cannot handle these extreme conditions.
Potential solutions include the development of mind magic to enhance cognitive processing, genetic enhancements to improve the body's resilience, and specialized spells to either reduce or completely negate the G-Force effects during high-speed maneuvers.
I opened my eyes after recording the notes. My vision blurred slightly as I turned toward the computer screen, where the entire flight test had been logged and analyzed. To my surprise, the Aurora OS had done its job—tracking my commands and compiling the data. It seemed the system was learning quickly.
Now, it was time to rest. The adrenaline from the test had worn off, leaving behind a fog of exhaustion, compounded by the jet lag from traveling at such high speeds.
I sluggishly stood up and shuffled over to the couch, collapsing face-first onto the soft cushions. The comfort of the pillow was enough to pull me into a deep sleep.
Meanwhile, in the Command Room...
The three devil ladies stood around, watching Marcus as he slept. Two of them, Serafall and Grayfia, exchanged quiet sighs.
Serafall was a mix of admiration and frustration. She had witnessed Marcus's test firsthand, and though impressed by his brilliance, she couldn't shake the annoyance that he still refused their help, keeping them at arm's length.
Grayfia, the silver-haired maid, had already accepted Marcus as her only true master. She was dedicated, loyal, and, unlike Serafall, didn't expect him to reach out for help. He kept them all at a distance, but it didn't change her unwavering devotion.
Venelana, on the other hand, was utterly captivated by the Scale Mail in action. Unlike previous times when she had missed the core elements, she had seen the full power of the suit firsthand. Her mind raced with the possibilities. If Marcus could mass-produce these suits, there was no telling what he could accomplish. The Freedom Scale Mail didn't require the user to channel magic the way other Sacred Gears did. Unlike the Boosted Gear or Divine Dividing, which needed years of training to wield, the Scale Mail allowed anyone to wear it and become something close to an Ultimate Class being.
Venelana shook her head in disbelief. "If Marcus decides to go public with this, the supernatural world will never be the same. He could dominate everything."
Serafall growled, frustrated at the thought. "It's just getting so annoying!"
Grayfia, always composed, offered a simple explanation: "The issue, Lady Leviathan, is that Marcus perceives you and the rest of the Devil Kind as prioritizing your duties over him. That's why he keeps you at arm's length."
Serafall paused, processing Grayfia's words. She had a point.
"True... I guess I should stop with the whole 'Lucifer' thing," she muttered thoughtfully. "Right, from now on, I'll focus on being the thoughtful wife!" Serafall snapped her fingers in realization.
Grayfia sighed deeply at her sudden shift. Even the older Sitri's adaptability was astonishing, though perhaps the family's water manipulation abilities played a role in their adaptability.
Venelana, however, was not as amused. Her brow furrowed as she considered the potential fallout of Marcus's inventions. "As humans say, we are royally screwed."
The Next Morning...
Marcus, feeling sluggish but somewhat refreshed, sat down to a quiet breakfast. He flicked through the morning news on the screen, and his eyes widened when a segment caught his attention. A report on a "military experiment" above the Baltic Sea was being broadcast.
"The sound generated by this experimental plane should exceed that of any known aircraft. It has reportedly broken the sound barrier several times, with sailors along the coast describing their ears being assaulted by the roar of air displacement..."
Marcus hummed softly as he processed the information.
Right... breaking the sound barrier generates a powerful whistle, especially at lower altitudes. Fascinating data.
