Skylar's POV
My mind was spinning, the anger bubbling up inside me as I tried to make sense of what just happened. This wasn't my fault! I thought, wishing I could somehow make the stalker pay for ruining my day and my job. But my boss stood there, glaring at me like I was the problem.
"I swear, it wasn't me," I blurted, trying to keep my voice from shaking. "A customer tripped me. You can check the CCTV if you don't believe me."
Mr. Davenport folded his arms, his expression hard. "CCTV or not, Skylar, I can't keep covering for your mistakes. This isn't the first time, and it won't be the last if I let this slide."
"I'll work extra shifts," I offered desperately. "I'll stay late, clean up the mess, anything you need. Just… please don't fire me."
