Superman has just stopped an attempted robbery.
I sat on my newly bought luxurious sofa, a necessary addition to the otherwise empty castle. The furniture had arrived recently, and I was taking a break while listening to the news. It helped me keep tabs on my surroundings and understand more about this world.
The items I ordered had also arrived, and I was waiting for the clone bodies to finish forming so I could transfer my memories into them. In the meantime, I'd been making strategic moves, such as investing in major companies like Wayne Enterprises and LexCorp. These corporations are practically invincible thanks to their "plot armor," something that I've grown increasingly wary of.
How far does plot protection extend in this world? Superman and other heroes often survive the impossible, and villains like the Joker, who logically should have died countless times, always return. My research revealed Gotham doesn't even have a death penalty—likely influenced by the Court of Owls.
I've started investigating Gotham's elite, meticulously compiling a list of who to target and how. There's also no accessible information about Task Force X in government records, but I haven't probed too deeply yet. I need to tread carefully, as every move carries its risks.
I stared at my bank account with a sad expression—only 1.5 million left. I had spent 80 % of "my money" in just three days. It is what it is; I can always steal more if needed.
On the bright side, there was some growth in my social points (SP). However, what caught my attention was the progress on her. She'll soon be complete, and I won't dwell on her origins for now. She'll be the CEO of Stark Industries, handling the business side of things.
With her taking care of the corporate world, I can finally focus on moving out of Gotham with my mother. The city's constant chaos isn't safe for her, and this setup would let me carry out my hero work without any complications. Killing two birds with one stone, as they say
Ding!
Finally, the clone body was ready. I walked toward the headset that would transfer my memories into the clone—a reward I had obtained from the gacha system. Placing the headset firmly on my head, I took a deep breath and waited for the machine to activate.
The process was excruciating for a solid minute, but eventually, the memories were successfully transferred. I slowly removed the headset and steadied myself. The sensation was strange, like a part of me was now walking in another vessel.
I turned toward the cloning machine just in time to see her stepping out, her movements precise and deliberate. It was working perfectly. Our eyes met, and I couldn't help but marvel at how seamless the process had been.
"You could've at least left some clothes here for me to wear," she said, her tone laced with irritation as she crossed her arms.
"Yes, but where's the fun in that?" I replied, a teasing smile playing on my lips.
"So, how much of my memories do you have?" I asked, my curiosity piqued as I watched her adjust to her new body.
"Almost all of them—about 85%," she replied, her tone even but laced with a hint of irritation.
"Good," I nodded. "So you know the plan, right?"
"Yes," she said firmly, crossing her arms. "But I don't know the goal. Care to enlighten me? And while we're at it—where are my damn clothes?"
I chuckled, leaning back slightly. "Patience. You'll get your answers—and your clothes—in a moment."
Clap!
The room shifted instantly, transforming into a more furnished space filled with modern furniture and essentials. I made a mental note to explore whether I could grant her partial control over the Infinity Castle—it might prove useful later.
"Here are your clothes," I said, gesturing toward the neatly folded garments on a nearby table. "Once you're done, I'll explain the goal. Sound good?"
She nodded silently, her expression neutral as she walked toward the pile of clothes.
As I watched her, a sense of satisfaction settled in. This was just one step closer to achieving my ul goal for
