Ryan hadn't even opened his mouth before Vera rolled her eyes and snapped, "Mia, you're absolutely insane. Do you know how many people chase after me? If I actually had a boyfriend, why would I even bother hiding it from you?"
"Of course, of course. Our Vera has been a school beauty since childhood. You've had plenty of admirers, and not just guys, but girls too," Mia said with a sly grin.
That comment almost made Ryan spit out the water he was drinking.
Face flushing red, Vera snapped back, "What nonsense are you spouting now?"
"How am I spouting nonsense? Remember that flat-chested tomboy who used to chase after you? Don't worry, she didn't do well on her exams and has gone to a vocational school in another city. She can't harass you anymore," Mia teased.
"And let's be real: being harassed by a girl isn't as bad as being harassed by a guy. Remember that fat pig last time who confessed to you? Grossed you out, didn't he?"
