Getting on the good side of the old Hokage
I can't say that it was the best sleep in my new life. But it was one of the most peaceful nights I have experienced in this life. Due to hunger I couldn't sleep for a long time. 4 hours at best. But with all the information I had to process and the mental fatigue I had experienced last night, it was probably the deepest sleep I have experienced in this life. Waking up, the first thing I did was to go to the bathroom to empty my bladder. Despite giving me no food, the caretakers have given me enough water to temporarily sedate my hunger last night.
I didn't have any clock on me to see what time it was. But since it was really dark outside, I would guess there must be a while left before the sunrise. Coming back to the rags I call bed, I sighed. I will have to see how the system responds to my request for food. After that I will have to give it my wishes accordingly to improve my lifestyle. If I remember correctly the oversized shirt I was wearing was currently my only possession. They haven't even given me a underware let alone pants or skirts.
'peach,' I called the name I have given to the system.
\\Yes master.
'How exactly are you going to give me good food in the morning ?' I asked the system.
\\Answer: The Master will have to complete a task in order to get good food in the morning at 8 am.
Task: Getting on the good side of the old Hokage
Explanation: The Hokage of the hidden leaf village, Sarutobi Hiruzen is going to show up in the orphanage to check on the host around 7:00 a.m. in the morning. Host will have to act obedient, mature and innocent to gain the sympathy of the old Hokage. After that by acting miserable and hungry, the host will not only gain good food but also a better place to live along with some allowance.
Listening to the explanation peach gave me, I sighed. In this situation I can do nothing but act obediently. Currently I am completely powerless. So even if I don't want to work for these ungrateful people, I have no other choice. I will have to come up with something in order to become a little more independent. But first let's prepare for the meeting. But while I was thinking about how I should approach the situation, the system gave me another task.
\\Master can take another additional optional task. Completion of task is not mandatory but the rewards will be generous.
Optional task: During the initial meeting, with the old hokage, show at least one of your privates to him while acting like you are not aware of the situation.
Reward: The hokage will sympathize with you for your innocence and give you the scroll to know how to access your chakra and some basic shinobi related books.
System reward: Awakening of Mind eye of Kagura upon the activation of chakra flow in master's body.
Explanation: After the master unlocks her chakra, her sensory bloodline will awaken, allowing her to sense chakra and people around her. Master will have to work hard in order to completely master the ability.
Seeing the optional task given by the system, I sighed again. It is not something impossible. And I won't probably feel anything flashing my underdeveloped body. Especially with this oversized sleeveless shirt with no undergarments, this task would be very easy. But I decided to calm down myself and waited for the old hokage to show up first.

After finishing his morning routine, Hiruzen Sarutobi, the third Hokage of the hidden leaf village, went straight towards the Eastern orphanage of the village. He was supposed to go there yesterday on the birthday of Naruto Uzumaki, the jinjuriki of the hidden leaf village. But due to his workload he couldn't take his leave. So postponing everything, Hiruzen was going to meet Naruto first thing in the morning. Thinking about the girl's situation, Hiruzen sighed. He didn't know what his idiot friend Danzo was thinking when he released those rumors. It not only compromised the security of the village's jinjuriki, but also made Naruto Chan's life a lot harder than it was supposed to be. To respect the previous Hokage, Hiruzen wanted Naruto to have a normal childhood. At least as normal as possible for a jinjuriki. But now, he had understood that those things were not possible anymore.
Everyone who was awake early in the morning bowed to him on his way to the orphanage. But without paying them much attention, Hiruzen went straight towards his destination.
The civilian matron of the orphanage was still asleep. It was almost 7 in the morning. Usually the orphanage should have been bustling with morning activities around this time. But due to the festival last night almost everyone was still asleep. Fortunately one of the caretakers has woken up early enough to open the gates.
Dismissing the attendant, Hiruzen went straight towards the room where Naruto should be. From the day she was brought to this orphanage till now, they have not given him any other room except for one. According to the reports he has received from the Anbu, while the orphanage didn't abuse her in any form they have completely isolated her from the other children. Except for the reading and writing that was taught to her by the caretakers with great reluctance after he declared a large amount of money as a reward, no one was enthusiastic enough to make contact with the child.
There was no door for her room, only a curtain. Sliding it, Hiruzen entered the room to find Naruto still sleeping on her makeshift bed made of rags. Her privates were completely exposed for the word to see. Fortunately Hiruzen was not a pedophile like his student Orochimaru. Hiruzen was actually more concerned about Naruto's malnourished form.
'It seems I have to do something about this treatment. I can't exactly change the opinion of the people. But that doesn't mean I will let this mistreatment continue.'
He decided to wake her up. But Naruto was steered awake by his presence before he could do so.
"Hello Naruto chan, how have you been ?"

I was in a deep sleep when suddenly the notification from the system woke me up.
\\Congratulations for completing your first system task successfully.
Optional task: During the initial meeting, with the old hokage, show at least one of your privates to him while acting like you are not aware of the situation.
Rewards will be given within the course of the next week.
'Huh ! When did I ?'
"Hello Naruto chan, how have you been ?"
My thoughts were cut off by a voice from the entrance of my room. Looking towards the entrance, a familiar old man was standing there.
If I remember correctly then he had visited me around a year ago, on my 3rd birthday and had brought some clothes and candies for me.
Looking at myself I found that my over sized shirt as slipped up and my pussy was completely exposed. At first I was about to panic reflexively. But I calmed myself down. I needed to act innocently. And besides I have already gotten the rewards. So I don't have to act anymore.
Sitting up I adjusted my clothes.
"Old man ?" I stopped myself from cringing when my own voice sounded unfamiliar. It was rough, not as low pitched as the voice of children of my age should be.
'May be due to lack of talking ?' I thought to myself as I looked at the old man. If not for my past life I would have never thought that the frail looking old man is currently one of the strongest people in this world.
'As they say, never underestimate old men in anime. Whether it is Yamamoto, Hakuro, Netero or Hiruzen, all of them are monsters in their own rights.' I thought to myself as I stayed silent. Although I can start communicating with him, from what I remember, I don't have much experience with speaking with other people in this life. So it would be suspicious if I start talking like an expert. And besides, it will make me look more pitiful like this.
*Growl* Surprisingly, my stomach was the first one to speak. I took this chance to clutch my belly and look down.
"Hungry ?" I looked up when the old man asked me.
Without saying anything, I just nodded with a little fearful look on my face.
"Don't worry Naruto. Let's go. We will eat outside."
I nodded as I got up. I didn't know if he actually cares about me or just wanted me to get comfortable with him, but if it is the latter, then I will have to admit that his acting was top notch.
I now somewhat understand what my system could do. It wasn't like those systems which would give their protagonists Ultra Instinct or Magma Magma devil fruit in the Naruto world. My system is more realistic. It will manipulate others to achieve the best feasible outcome possible.
