Chương 90: 90- Ériu makes a vow and Loki takes Lachlan

"Get out of there!!!!" She yelled. But she wasn't quick enough because the beast suddenly charged the air once more and each spike was being used to conduct energy. Bolts of lightning shot from each spike, and the one his hand still rested on hit him the hardest. His body convulsed and he fell to the ground. The ice sword disappeared from the beasts hand and Saoirse was once again in her human form as well. Luckily she hadn't been electrocuted like Sirius had in her Einherjar form, but now she was out in the open and her belly was his target. Sroka had also been tossed like a rag doll as she had been occupying Sirius' body as well.

The beast threw her aside like a rag doll. She landed hard on the ground, throwing up earth as she skid, and then rolled away. She lay there unmoving.

The panther turned his attention to saoirse and grinned his unnaturally jagged jaws, his canine teeth elongated into sharp tusks. Two on each side.

Saoirse spit at him and shifted into a wolf, preparing herself for a fight. She coated herself in ice to prevent electricity from harming her. Whatever he had done to her when she was electrocuted, it seemed like the babies might be harmed if he wanted to do it again.

"GET AWAY FROM MY MOM!" Sroka yelled and teleported in front of the panther, jamming Odin's sword into his heart.

He staggered for a minute and then electrocuted her with the sword and pulled it out of himself.

In a matter of seconds, Sroka turned to dust and was no more.

Then he stepped on Sirius to make sure he was dead.

As Ériu opened her eyes, she heard a crunching sound and Sirius' body now lay crushed in a small dent in the earth. Blood began pouring out of Saoirse's mouth but she didn't move. The shock was so sudden and unexpected. She didn't have time to react.

Ériu felt like time stopped and all she could do was watch as a sudden glint of particles began leaving Sirius' body. Saoirse began to break into particles which glistened and floated away. Together they began to turn to ash. Saoirse looked at Ériu, worry for her babies evident on her face until she was no longer there.

The panther beast smiled at Ériu at that moment after the particles had finished leaving.

"Well, it seems like my work here is done." He turned away from Ériu, no longer interested in a fight and began heading back towards where he had come from. He was a beast from Sldir so she could only imagine that he had come from there. The greatest of murderers lived there. How many more creatures that powerful could be found there?

Ériu only knew that this panther had been on Odin's side for centuries. Even though it meant the extinction of his race and all of the races of his realm.

Eriu looked around and ice was everywhere, craters were everywhere, and a huge battle must have taken place. She wanted to weep because of what she had seen, but she could only sit there in silence and take it in.

Then she got up and approached Sirius's crater carefully. She took some of his ash in her arms and placed it into a bag gently. Then she took Saoirse's and Sroka's ashes as well.

With agony she yelled into the wind. "Nooooo!!!!! Not like this!!!!!!" She cried.

Then her husband came and placed his hands on her shoulders. "You know, there is only one thing we can do."

With determination in her eyes, she looked towards the place that she had never been allowed to go. The home of the goddess of the dead, Hel herself. "I will fix this!" She vowed.

She yelled after the panther, which was really a Merkyrgrimr, named after the shadowy grim nature of the familiar, "I WILL FIX THIS! MARK MY WORDS! ODIN WILL FALL!"

The beast simply smirked to himself and kept walking. Then the bifröst descended and he was gone with a flash of lightning.

Hel was in a meeting with her death angels when a sudden, urgent knock at the door interrupted them.

Her oldest son Klaus was in the middle of expressing his concerns about a certain issue when the goddess motioned him to wait a minute.

"Come in." She said.

A timid guard came into the room without even opening the door and urgently whispered something in her ear. Her face went grim and she nodded. "Very well, I will come see." Then she urgently turned to her angels, "I am so sorry but I have a very urgent matter I need to attend to."

"What?" Klaus exclaimed, "what could be more urgent than what Loki is up to?"

She ignored him and with a flurry of white feathers, she was out the door and gone.

In the entry of the castle, the giantess was standing there, bent over in her goat form still her head touched the ceiling.

She was holding a bag of ashes. The Goddess flew towards her down the stairs nearly panicking. When she got there, the giantess looked at her with tears streaming down her face.

"He's dead my goddess!!" She sobbed, "please! He can't be dead!"

Hel gently took the ashes in her possession and examined them. She was very accustomed to seeing the dead, but they never appeared this beaten. With her eye she could see their true form, not just ash.

Compassion filled her face and a tear dripped from her eye.

She asked the fomoire what had happened, and listened intently, then she gave the ash a small gentle kiss. It recieved the kiss but didn't move. The goddess waited a minute before asking Ériu a question.

"So I see that his Einherjar are dead as well then?" She asked urgently. "He has no tethers to the living world?"

Ériu began to sob again. "Those were the only blood bonds of his. His young were lost."

"Young?….." Then Hel quickly understood.

A pained look crossed her face and the goddess handed the ashes back to Ériu.

"Unfortunately, I cannot just bring a lost soul back that has died in Nefilheim without a tether. As you know, they cease to exist. There is no realm that I can send you to, to find him. The particles of the soul break apart and disperse."

Ériu nodded sadly at this. This was indeed common knowledge for everyone in nefilheim. It was indeed known as the second death of the soul. Tears flooded her eyes again and she let out a groan of mourning unable to contain the loss of another person in her care.

The death angels had followed the goddess curiously from the meeting room and saw the horrifying scene of the goddess holding the ashes of a dead family. They too had the ability to see with the eye of death and saw a vision suddenly of Sirius' family's appearance if they hadn't become ash. Sirius had 4 broken black and white wings and black and white hair on his head, which was coated in blood so much you might think it was black and red.

His wife had been pregnant and the little girl had been only nine.

When the goddess sadly kissed the ashes, they saw her grief. She had given him the kiss of death, her most powerful spell to waken a fallen soul. It hadn't even taken convincing for her to try it.

"Mother?" Klaus said coming to her side as she handed the ashes back to the fomoire. The queen looked very grieved, more than one would expect because she hardly mourned the dead.

"Who were they mother that you mourn so?"

Mother who is this boy?" Klaus asked her. He had seen his mother kiss the boy and usually she only saved someone if they were issued a challenge and had passed.

He thought that the boy resembled himself only instead of pure white hair like hel's children, he had vampire blood. So his hair was black and white.

"You couldnt have had a child with Loki's bloodline, or did you? I thought you made a vow to only bare demigods. Our fathers are all humans to keep us weaker than the demons."

With tear filled eyes, she looked at her eldest son and sobbed in his embrace. He looked again at the boy and studied him. "Is he a son of a vampire?" Klaus asked.

Ériu spoke up because the queen was unable to. "Yes he is alastor's son, the prince of calamity. He was the first creature of chaos to earn the title death angel, right? Surely Hel bestowed the power upon him when he came to Nefilheim."

Hel shook her head. Death angels are born not bestowed honor. They are different from Odin's Valkyrie. Sirius is my son."

Klaus gave an expression of shock.

He was not jealous though of Sirius' power even if that meant he most likely had a demon familiar and they didn't. "He is the 13th then. This is why you mourn mother? He spoke gently to her. "Mother, you can issue a challenge can't you? You can revive him?"

She looked up at him for a minute. "The kiss of death didn't work." She said sadly. He doesn't have a tether to this world.

Klaus thought about it a bit. "Loki recently returned here with a little werewolf child. That is what I was telling you about just now, I think he is planning something big, I'm not sure how it links to that boy," he said pointing at Sirius, "but he said it was the son of a death angel. I figured he had taken a child by mistake. He said it was the only werewolf of hels bloodline and the parents have been killed, so he had taken his great grandson back or something like that."

"Lachlan is adopted. He never made an Einherjar bond with Sirius and he is at my house." Ériu interjected.

"I doubt that." Klaus said.

The goddess dried her tears. "An adoption is legally binding. In that case, he is of the bloodline of Loki." She wiped her face and the tears turned into determination. "Death angels! We must find Loki!"
