Chương 21: Morning Resolve and Plans

6:00 AM

Adam's alarm buzzed sharply in the quiet room, pulling him out of sleep.

Stretching, he blinked, letting the faint morning light seep through the blinds.

A calm yet resolute voice in his ear—Pratham's voice—broke through his haze.

"Lord Adam, your morning routine is about to begin. Please get ready."

Adam yawned and gave a half-hearted nod. "Alright, give me ten minutes." After a quick wash, he dressed, feeling a newfound sense of determination radiate through his body.

The anticipation of the day's challenges ignited an energy within him, and he stepped out of his room, surprising his parents in the living room.

Rachel's eyes softened with pride as she watched her son, her gaze shifting to her husband, Ricky, as she gave him a warm smile.

Rachel thought, 'Finally, my boy is taking life seriously.' Her husband returned her smile, wrapping an arm around her as they both quietly shared this moment.

Adam, oblivious to his parents' admiration, was already stepping out of the house when Pratham's voice came again. "Lord Adam, your first step is to run to the park."

Adam grinned. "Understood," he replied, taking off down the street.

He arrived at the park, noting with mild surprise that he wasn't as breathless as he usually was. Catching his breath, he muttered, "Strange… I don't feel as tired today. Actually, I feel like I have more energy."

Pratham replied, "Lord Adam, that's entirely possible. Your body's adapting."

Adam shrugged, then continued his workout, feeling stronger with each movement.

By the end, sweat soaked his shirt, but there was no muscle soreness, only a steady pulse of power coursing through him.

"Is today's workout over?" he asked, wiping his brow.

"Yes, Lord Adam. That completes your training for today."

Nodding, Adam made his way back home, freshened up, and joined his parents for a quick breakfast. Bidding them goodbye, he left for school.

As Adam walked toward school, a familiar voice filled his mind—Mikasa's voice, calm and calculated, carrying a tinge of urgency.

"Lord Adam, I've discovered why they intend to kidnap Ani."

Adam halted, momentarily stunned, his focus sharpening on her words. "Explain in detail, Mikasa."

Mikasa detailed her findings: the enemy's connection to Ani's father and the deep-seated grudge that fueled their plans.

She spoke about Ran, an associate of Ani's father, whose resentment had twisted into a desire for revenge.

This was not a mere attempt at abduction; it was a plot deeply rooted in hatred and complex alliances.

Adam frowned, processing the weight of the information as he stood, isolated in a quiet alley.

'An organization this complex must have powerful people backing it', he thought. There's no way it formed in isolation.

"Mikasa, have you found anything else about this organization?" he asked, his mind racing with possibilities.

"I tried, Lord Adam, but they are very cautious. They leave little to no trace on the internet—an intentional strategy to avoid detection."

Adam nodded. "No matter. You've done exceptionally well, Mikasa."

Mikasa's tone lightened, clearly pleased. "Thank you, Lord Adam."

He continued down the street, deep in thought. If this is so well-planned, we'll have to take action ourselves.

'I doubt Ani's father could manage to stop them even if he knew.' Mikasa's voice broke his reverie.

"What would you suggest we do, Lord Adam?"

Adam paused, considering the pieces of information and the stakes at play. A plan began to form in his mind.

A smirk crossed Adam's face. "I have an idea," he said aloud. Pratham's voice sparked with interest.

"What kind of idea, Lord Adam?"

Adam's gaze turned sharp. "They've been hunting Ani up until now. But it's time we hunt them."

There was a moment of silence before Mikasa, slightly taken aback, asked, "My Lord, if I may ask, how would we manage such a feat? We lack a physical presence."

Adam nodded, understanding the challenge. "True, but we have something far more potent. We can monitor them constantly, track their every move. We'll turn that advantage into our weapon."

Pratham interjected, "But even if we watch them, Lord Adam, how will we trap them?"

Adam's voice lowered, his mind narrowing on the idea. "They don't know that we know who they are. We can use this to lure them in. Mikasa," he directed, "I need you to keep a close watch on them throughout the day. When my school day ends, find a way to separate two of them from the group. If you can't manage that, isolate at least one of them."

"Yes, Lord Adam. I will not fail you. I'll activate the plan as soon as you're out of school."

Adam's eyes flashed with determination. "Excellent. Pratham, you're up. Create a strategy to lead them to a location where we can confront them without interruptions."

Pratham replied with a respectful bow, "As you wish, Lord Adam."

As Adam walked, he called Mikasa again. "Mikasa, I have one more task for you. Can you manage it?"

"Anything, Lord Adam," she responded eagerly.

He smiled at her unwavering loyalty. "Thank you, Mikasa. Along with watching the seven targets, keep an eye on Ani as well. Pratham will monitor her for a while, but I need you to make sure she's safe 24/7. If those men make any moves towards her or even discuss a plan around her, notify me immediately."

Mikasa responded instantly, "As you command, Lord Adam."

Adam's trust in Mikasa was absolute, and with that reassurance, he continued toward school, his mind turning to Ani.

He recalled her nervous laugh, the way her eyes sparkled with excitement as she recounted memories, and the unspoken concern she seemed to carry.

But he knew now was not the time for sentiment—there were lives at stake.

A familiar voice broke into his thoughts. Turning, Adam saw Leo, who looked slightly sheepish.

"Sorry about yesterday, Adam," Leo muttered, rubbing the back of his neck.

Adam smiled, shrugging it off. "No worries. In fact, it was a good thing you didn't come."

Leo's brows knitted together, confused. "Wait… why was that?"

Adam smirked, looking away briefly. "Because I spent the whole day with Ani, exploring the city."

Leo eyes widened, and he practically shouted, "What?!"

In an instant, he rushed to Adam, throwing an arm around his shoulder, eagerly pressing him for details. "Tell me everything! What happened?"

Chuckling, Adam gave him a quick recount of the previous day, intentionally leaving out the parts that were… complicated.

Leo listened, awe-struck, finally slapping Adam on the back. "I never thought you had it in you! You've seriously charmed our school's idol!"

Adam quickly interrupted, "Calm down, Leo. It's nothing like that."

But Leo wasn't convinced. "Come on, don't be dense. She clearly has feelings for you."

Shrugging off Leo enthusiasm, Adam focused his gaze forward, but inside, a sliver of hope stirred—a dangerous hope, considering what he knew was waiting around the corner for them both.

The two of them walked toward the train station together, their laughter mingling with the morning air, but Adam's mind never fully left the strategy he'd set in motion. The game had begun, and every move counted.
