Chương 21: Chapter 21: Robbery

The moment Kado stepped out of the cabin, both Snow Bear and Bellal froze. They each thought Kado was an ally of the other, and both felt some apprehension in their hearts.

Transformed into a giant green python, Bellal glanced at Kado and Snow Bear. His crimson snake tongue flicked in and out as he said, "Kid, what are you? How dare you sneak onto my ship? This is no child's game. If you're not careful, you could lose your life."

"Hehe, you don't need to worry about that. You two can go on; I'll just watch from the sidelines," Kado said, spreading his hands and shrugging his shoulders, acting as if it had nothing to do with him.

A look of confusion appeared on Snow Bear's face. No matter how he looked at it, Kado, who had walked out of the cabin, seemed like someone from Bellal's group. However, it appeared that they didn't recognize each other. Could this be some kind of trap?

"Really, I have no relation to either of you. You can go on; I'm just a thief here to steal Golden-scaled Fish," Kado said with a hint of helplessness. He had originally come to watch the fight, but he didn't expect that both of them would stop when they saw a third person present.

"You came to steal Golden-scaled Fish?!" Snow Bear exclaimed in surprise.

"Mm." Kado turned and went back into the cabin, then brought out the Golden-scaled Fish and showed it to the two of them. "This Bellal is scum. Originally, I planned to steal it and leave, but I found a few unlucky guys inside. I want to save them, so now I can't leave. I have no choice but to participate in this fight," Kado said with an indifferent expression, as if he didn't take the two ruthless pirates before him seriously at all.

When Snow Bear and Bellal saw that Kado was indeed holding a Golden-scaled Fish, both were taken aback in shock, almost unable to resist rushing forward to snatch it.

"Kid, you've got some nerve, daring to steal my things. You'd better not regret it later," Bellal said, his narrow eyes narrowing even further, his gaze filled with murderous intent, and his snake tongue flicking in and out.

"Kid, name your price. How much do you want? Tell me, this Golden-scaled Fish, I'll buy it," Snow Bear said, a simple, honest smile appearing on his chubby face, as if he was now negotiating with Kado.

Kado sneered inwardly. This guy actually thought he was rich. Didn't he know that Kado had already stolen all the treasures from the Snow Bear Pirate Crew?

"Enough with the nonsense! This Golden-scaled Fish is definitely mine. If you two are going to fight, do it quickly. If not, get lost. I don't have time to waste on you," Kado spat, cursing.

"Hmph, kid, you're asking for death!" Bellal sneered.

A thick snake tail swept towards Kado, aiming to strike him in the waist. Bellal, who had been arrogant and proud, was now furious and could no longer hold back.

"Wa-ya-ya, boss, I'm so scared!" Kado yelled loudly, his body leaping into the air to dodge Bellal's attack.

Before Kado could even land, Bellal's snake tail instantly changed direction and swept back toward him. Suspended in midair with no way to brace himself, Kado had no chance of dodging this attack. It seemed certain that he would be swept away by Bellal's strike.

"Watch my Unrivaled Great White Rabbit Grab!" Kado shouted.

In midair, Kado's face showed no sign of panic. His right hand transformed into a claw shape and, like lightning, shot out toward the direction of the sweeping snake tail.

Puchi!

A sharp sound plunging into flesh rang out as Kado's five fingers plunged deep into Bellal's serpent's tail, making five bloody holes that bled profusely.

"Hmph." Bellal's expression didn't change. To his enlarged body, such an attack was nothing more than being bitten by a few large mosquitoes— it had no effect on his movements.

The snake tail didn't pause for even a moment. With one strike, it slammed Kado's body away, crashing him onto the deck and creating a large hole.

"Peh!"

Sitting slumped against the wall on the other side of the cabin, Kado spat out the splinters of wood from his mouth, grumbling with frustration, "When you strike a snake, you aim for the seventh inch. Damn it, who can tell me where the seventh inch is?"

Outside the cabin, Snow Bear, who had been watching the fight, noticed that Kado had left the Golden-scaled Fish on the deck. Taking advantage of the two not paying attention, he was about to sneak over and steal it. But to his surprise, Kado was so useless that he was instantly swept away.

Bellal, noticing Snow Bear trying to take advantage, quickly changed the direction of his snake tail and swept it toward Snow Bear.

"Damn it, just a little bit more!"

Snow Bear cursed angrily but couldn't avoid striking out to block Bellal's attack.

Puchi!

Bellal's mighty snake tail swept toward Snow Bear, but to everyone's surprise, it was effortlessly blocked by just one of Snow Bear's palms. It was as if Bellal's snake tail were nothing more than a thick straw, with no power behind it.

Snow Bear's palm pressed against the slick, green snake tail, gently stroking it. The massive tail seemed to lose all its strength in his hand, turning limp and soft as it collapsed to the ground.

"No wonder you're a pirate from the Grand Line. Your strength is indeed much greater than that of other pirates with bounties over 50 million from the Four Seas. But you're still a bit weaker than me," Snow Bear said aloud.

"Hehe, your strength also surprises me. How about you join my pirate crew and become my subordinate?" Bellal said, twisting his upper body as he dragged his snake tail out of Snow Bear's grasp. Once the tail was free from Snow Bear's hands, it regained its strength, coiling and wriggling on the ground, ready to launch a deadly attack at any moment.

Snow Bear didn't respond. He glanced at the large hole that Kado had made in the cabin earlier and said, "It looks like that little kid is finished. The Golden-scaled Fish is right in front of us. Whoever wins gets it." After saying that, he brought his fleshy palms toward Bellal's snake body.

At this moment, inside the cabin, Kado got up and walked over to the three unlucky guys. The three of them were sitting in chairs, moving their hands and feet, trying to restore feeling to their numb bodies as quickly as possible.

"Can you guys walk now?" Kado asked with a sigh. Earlier, he had kindly tried to rescue these three, but now it seemed they couldn't even walk properly. His hope of escaping quietly had been dashed. Now, all he could do was wait, and he suspected that in a little while, he might end up having to fight a battle that hadn't even been necessary.

However, since he had already promised to rescue the three of them, Kado wasn't willing to give up just because of a few small troubles. A man should keep his word. In his past life, he had been a thief and lacked the strength to do much. Now, he have the strength, he felt there was no point in living if he kept being cowardly and evasive.

Additionally, Kado realized that fighting could greatly speed up the consumption of his special energy, allowing his strength to increase rapidly. Because of this, he no longer felt the need to avoid battles. Having been given a second chance at life, he figured he should live a little more freely. After all, there were no laws in this world— and even if there were, they couldn't control pirates. As long as he didn't violate his principles, he thought, he might as well enjoy life: eat when he wanted, drink when he wanted, beat up anyone who rubbed him the wrong way, and live each day to the fullest. It would make his journey through the world of pirates worthwhile.

Feeling a sense of relief, Kado noticed that his mood had improved significantly. The secrets that had been weighing on his heart and his longing for Earth had lessened considerably. Only at this moment did he truly understand why Luffy was so eager to become a pirate. This sense of freedom, with no restrictions, really was quite wonderful.

"There's no major problem with moving now," one of the older men said, standing up shakily. He then asked Kado again, "Are you really going to save us? We can't be of any help right now; we're just a burden."

"Why all the nonsense? Do you want to be hung up on the ceiling again?" Kado said as he helped the three of them up. "Come on, follow me. I'll get you out of here, and then I can go get the Golden-scaled Fish."

After supporting the three of them for a few turns, their numb legs slowly regained their mobility.

Kado walked over to a wall in the cabin, took a look at the position, and then threw a powerful punch. He struck a hole the size of a fist in the wall. Kado peered through the hole, nodded, and then used both his hands and feet to work. In no time, he had dismantled the wall enough to create a small door through which they could pass.

"Let's go. Follow this way out. There's a small dinghy I used earlier down below. Get on it, and look for a medium-sized sailboat with a cat-head bow. Find a guy named Fite. He's one of my underlings, and he'll help you," Kado said.

"Aren't you coming with us? Bellal's strength is far stronger than other pirates with bounties over 50 million from the Four Seas. He's a user of the Snake-Snake Fruit, Green-scaled Python. Not only is he powerful, but he's also extremely ruthless. You'll be in danger," the three of them tried to persuade Kado.

"It's fine, just go quickly. My Golden-scaled Fish is still up there, and I'm also eager to get my hands on a Devil Fruit and see how it works," Kado waved his hand dismissively at the three, urging them to leave.
