"Release!"
Tenzo's face was filled with despair.
But Kiyoshi's expression was entirely different—he was furious, righteously indignant.
With a look of utter justice, he faced the enemy disguised as a foreign ninja and shouted, "Who exactly are you?"
"Not only have you infiltrated the village to attack the people of Konoha, but you even dare to attempt to destroy the Hokage Rock, a site of great significance to our village? Such actions are absolutely unforgivable."
From the moment his opponent began using Wood Release Jutsu, Kiyoshi had already deduced the person's identity.
He was an elite of the Hokage's direct Anbu unit, codenamed "Tenzo," who would later be known as "Yamato."
He was the sole survivor of Orochimaru's experiment involving the transplant of the First Hokage's cells into dozens of children with special constitutions, having endured through sheer willpower.
"..."
Tenzo was speechless.
This kid was entirely too cunning.
It was clearly Kiyoshi who had damaged the Hokage Rock, yet here he was, pointing fingers and accusing him.
This so-called medical prodigy was, in truth, more like a devil in human skin.
If he couldn't understand what was happening by now, then all his years in the Anbu would've been for nothing.
There was no doubt in his mind that Kiyoshi had figured out his identity long ago and even suspected that he had been sent by the Third Hokage to test him.
Everything Kiyoshi was doing was deliberate.
To think he would dare to damage the Third Hokage's monument like this—how audacious.
"You have the right to remain silent, but we'll see how long that lasts once we get you to the interrogation department." Kiyoshi coldly stated as he stared at the silent Tenzo.
"I've heard that Chief Ibiki over there is particularly skilled at dealing with people as tight-lipped as you."
Without hesitation, Tenzo leaped away, sprinting into the distance.
However—
Kiyoshi wasn't about to let him escape so easily. His figure blurred, moving with incredible speed.
In a flash, he appeared in front of Tenzo.
"Whoosh…Whoosh.." Several shuriken shot out in succession.
Then, in the next instant, Kiyoshi formed a single-handed seal.
"Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
His movements were fluid, practically mesmerizing.
"Shu…shu.."
In a mere moment, the few shuriken he had thrown multiplied endlessly.
In the blink of an eye, they had turned into hundreds, filling the sky and blocking every escape route.
They hurtled toward Tenzo like a storm of deadly blades, aiming for his vital points, leaving him with no space to evade.
"What? This Jutsu belongs to the Third Hokage."
Tenzo's eyes contracted in shock. Of course, he recognized it.
This was the signature move of the Third Hokage, a Jutsu he had personally created by combining Shadow Clone Jutsu with shuriken, giving every clone shuriken the same lethal impact as a real one.
Tenzo's hands moved rapidly as he barely completed his hand seals.
Wood Style: Domed Wall Jutsu!
"Boom! Boom!"
Thick vines erupted from the ground in front of him, weaving together into a large, oval shield that tightly protected him from the barrage.
"Whoosh... Whoosh..."
A barrage of shuriken whistled through the air, piercing the sturdy wooden shield one after another.
But before Tenzo could even breathe a sigh of relief—
"Clang... Clang..."
Several shuriken that had seemingly missed him turned in mid-air, rebounding off each other as they flew toward Tenzo from behind, directly targeting the unprotected space behind him.
"What?"
"That's..."
Both Ino, watching from the side, and Tenzo himself were left stunned by this unexpected scene.
Even the Third Hokage, observing everything from his crystal ball back in his office, was wide-eyed, his heart aching at the sight of his damaged statue as he pondered how to address this situation.
But the skill he had just witnessed filled him with astonishment.
The precision and technique of Kiyoshi's shuriken throws were remarkable, nearly on par with those of the Uchiha clan's geniuses, like Uchiha Shisui and Uchiha Itachi.
And that Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu. It was a Jutsu he himself had invented. But how had Kiyoshi mastered it?
"Ah, of course. Tsunade must've taught him the basics, even if she couldn't master it herself," Hiruzen realized.
"That boy… he's truly a terrifying talent."
"Though he's also quite infuriating."
Thinking of the mess made of his Hokage Rock statue, Hiruzen's eyes twitched as he gritted his teeth in frustration.
If Tenzo could figure out what was going on, then surely he had too.
Kiyoshi must have known the Third Hokage was watching him through the Telescope Jutsu and likely even suspected that Tenzo had been sent by him.
His self-righteous act of shifting all the blame onto Tenzo was particularly irksome, even making the Third Hokage himself want to jump in and teach this kid a lesson.
Of course, if Hiruzen knew his beloved disciple, Jiraiya, was still lazing around in the Land of Hot Water, perhaps he'd reconsider his frustrations with Kiyoshi.
But then again, he wasn't quite ready to let his blood pressure spike that high.
"Wood Release?" Kiyoshi hardly paid attention to whether or not the redirected shuriken hit their mark as he took a deep breath, preparing his next attack.
Without needing to form seals, he concentrated Wind Release chakra in his mouth.
"Wind Style: Vacuum Bullets!"
A dense stream of wind bullets shot forth, each one like a bullet from a Gatling gun, tearing through the air.
"Boom! Boom!"
The oval wooden shield shattered instantly, leaving Tenzo scrambling backward, forced to dodge wildly.
"What?"
A sudden weightlessness overtook him as he missed his footing. He hastily formed seals, calling out.
"Wood Style: Deep Forest Emergence!"
"Whoosh...Whoosh..."
A massive, verdant forest of thick, leafy trees sprouted up across the Hokage Rock, cushioning his fall and preventing a harsh landing.
Without a second thought, he scrambled across the leafy treetops and bolted towards the Fourth Hokage's statue, using it to gain momentum to climb and flee.
"You're not getting away."
Seeing this, Kiyoshi immediately took off in hot pursuit.
"Ino, head back. I'll catch up with you later."
"Kiyoshi, please be careful." Ino, who had watched the entire fight with awe, shouted out in concern.
But both Tenzo and Kiyoshi were already gone in a flash, disappearing into the depths of the forest, leaving behind the ravaged Hokage Rock.
The Third Hokage's statue, now marred by a long nose and a giant crack down the middle, had an oddly greenish tinge to it.
"Did he... make a fool out of me?"
In the Hokage's office, watching through his crystal ball, Hiruzen's face twisted in a mix of shock and outrage as he slumped into his chair, clutching his heart.
Enough was enough.
"Tenzo, don't even think about getting paid this month."

"Whoosh... Whoosh..."
In the dense forest.
Two figures moved swiftly, one chasing after the other.
Before long, under what seemed to be an aimless escape, Tenzo's subtle maneuvering led them to the clearing of the Third Training Ground.
Tenzo came to a halt abruptly, his gaze lingering on the youthful man behind him.
Even though Kiyoshi had unintentionally damaged the Hokage Rock, which would surely invite the Third Hokage's reprimand, the task assigned by the Third Hokage still had to be completed.
Perhaps by doing so, he could make up for his mistake.
"Stopped running already?"
With his arms crossed, Kiyoshi chuckled lightly.
"Hmph, I didn't expect you'd dare chase me alone. You're as green as they come." Tenzo's voice, altered to sound husky and low, brimmed with hostility.
He glared at Kiyoshi with a dark look.
"Then let's see what the student of one of the Sannin can do, Ishikawa Kiyoshi!"
"If you're set on embarrassing yourself, I don't mind helping." Kiyoshi shrugged, barely bothered by Tenzo's disguise as a foreign shinobi to conceal his identity.
"I have time to spare, after all."
The life of a ninja is far from noble. Besides the outright fighting and killing, they often perform covert tasks behind the scenes.
From concealing their identities to taking on other personas, techniques like voice alteration are basic skills taught at the ninja academy.
Especially for an elite in the Anbu, Tenzo would have mastered this.
"However, don't bother with that half-baked Wood Release. It'll just make a fool of you," Kiyoshi remarked casually.
Though Tenzo did indeed possess Wood Release, the Kekkei Genkai that once belonged to the First Hokage, he was the only known survivor among countless experiments involving Hashirama cell transplants, both official and those secretly conducted by Orochimaru.
In a way, his survival could be seen as his "reward." Yet, Kiyoshi found little to be impressed by its power.
"Half-baked.?" Tenzo's pride took a hit. He had always taken pride in his Wood Release, despite knowing it was far from the First Hokage's legendary power. Still, he never intended to give up.
Over the years, he had tirelessly honed his skills.
He didn't aim to be a great shinobi like the First Hokage, but he wanted to contribute all he could to protect Konoha, not to disappoint the Third Hokage's trust and care for him.
A brat barely out of adolescence dared to mock him and his efforts. Even a man as calm as him would be angered.
Recalling how Kiyoshi had toyed with him and damaged the Hokage Rock, Tenzo resolved to teach him a lesson.
"This brat!"
Meanwhile, in the Third Hokage's office.
Watching them through his crystal ball, Hiruzen, though unable to hear them, could still interpret their conversation through lip-reading.
His gaze turned curious as he focused on Kiyoshi.
It was apparent that Kiyoshi must have heard about Wood Release, the formidable ability the First Hokage once wielded to bring peace to the shinobi world.
However, few in Konoha knew about Tenzo's existence. And yet, when Kiyoshi saw Tenzo using Wood Release, he didn't appear surprised at all.
"Could it have been Tsunade?"
However, knowing Tsunade's detachment from Konoha affairs over the years, it was unlikely she'd know of Tenzo's existence.
"Unless..."
A possibility came to mind, and Hiruzen's eyes narrowed in shock as he looked at Kiyoshi.
"Could it be… no, impossible."
"Wood Style: Great Forest Jutsu."
Right then, fueled by Kiyoshi's condescending words, Tenzo, frustrated and determined to teach him a lesson, took action.
With a rapid series of hand signs, his right arm sprouted numerous wooden tendrils, surging toward Kiyoshi with ferocious momentum.
But Kiyoshi's expression didn't change.
Clenching his right hand into a fist, he swung forward without hesitation.
"Boom!"
In an instant, splinters of wood scattered in all directions. Tenzo's eyes widened in shock as Kiyoshi advanced right in front of him, a terrifying punch radiating with intense chakra aimed directly at him.
"Is this Lady Tsunade's monstrous strength?" Tenzo broke into a cold sweat, desperately retreating and forming hand signs.
"Wood Style: Domed Wall Jutsu!"
"Boom!"
But his supposedly unbreakable wooden shield had barely emerged from the ground when it shattered as Kiyoshi's force tore through it effortlessly, completely unable to withstand his immense power.
In a flash, Kiyoshi delivered a spinning kick, slashing through the air toward Tenzo.
"Bam!"
Tenzo barely managed to cross his arms to block the kick, yet the sheer strength left his arms numb, sending him flying like a cannonball.
"What terrifying strength!" Tenzo thought, shaken.
Before he could even touch the ground—
"What?" His eyes shrank as Kiyoshi closed in with a flicker of speed, appearing right in front of him.
"So fast—" Tenzo's face turned pale as he tried to counter, but Kiyoshi was faster. His right hand seized Tenzo's head with a firm grip, slamming him ruthlessly into the ground.
"Boom!"
The ground caved in, dust and rocks flying in all directions, leaving anyone who saw it feeling a chill.
Lying on the ground was a headless wooden clone in Tenzo's place.
"A Wood Clone, huh?" Kiyoshi raised an eyebrow with a light smile. "Not bad at escaping."
"Wood Style: Silent Strangle Jutsu!"
Out of nowhere, a massive wooden vine burst from the ground behind Kiyoshi, wrapping around him and holding him tight.
"Whew…"
A disheveled Tenzo emerged from the earth.
Seeing the web of cracks on the ground like a spider's web, he wiped his cold sweat in relief. "If I'd let my guard down, I might have really been killed."
"Truly the disciple of Lady Tsunade." He looked in awe at Kiyoshi, now bound by his wood technique, no longer resisting.
Tenzo felt assured of his victory. "In the end, I won."
"And what makes you think you've won?"
Smiling, Kiyoshi asked, bound but unperturbed.
"What?"
Tenzo's confidence wavered, a feeling of unease creeping over him. His face fell as he performed the Genjutsu Release hand seal.
"Release!"
But—In the blink of an eye, he realized Kiyoshi, supposed to be meters away, was now right in front of him.
With a swift movement, a radiant blue chakra sphere had materialized in Kiyoshi's hand.
He thrust it forward, slamming it into Tenzo's chest with unyielding force.
"Boom!"
"Aah—"
