"So, what's the next step? Should we follow them?"
After parting ways with Tamiya and Akagi, Shin glanced at Yukinoshita Yukino, who was standing beside him, and asked curiously.
"That was the original plan, but now it doesn't seem necessary."
Yukino gently shook her head.
"Judging by Tamiya's expression, it looks like she can communicate with Akagi normally now. There's no need for us to trail them."
"So, are we disbanding then?"
Hearing this, Shin asked instinctively. Based on what Yukino said, it seemed they were planning to let Tamiya and Akagi proceed naturally.
"Of course not. If something goes wrong, Akagi will contact you, right?"
However, Yukino shook her head, saying, "So, to ensure nothing goes awry, I'll be accompanying you. This way, if they run into issues, we'll be able to respond immediately."
Shin felt a little speechless. In other words, he still had to spend the day with Yukino.
He had originally hoped to disband so he could test out the effects of the "Arrow" he carried by dealing with some low-level thugs. But it seemed he'd have to wait.
"Do you have any plans for today?"
Yukino seemed to notice something, looking at Shin with mild surprise. "If you have things to do, it's fine to disband."
At her core, Yukino was a kind person who established the Service Club to help others. If possible, she preferred not to impose on others.
"If it's nothing important…"
After thinking it over, Shin shook his head. Those thugs weren't going anywhere, so he wasn't in a rush.
"Didn't you say you'd introduce me to a kendo dojo? Can we go now?"
Initially, the plan with Yukino was to visit the kendo dojo tomorrow. But now that they'd canceled their plan to follow Tamiya and Akagi, they could visit the dojo instead.
Though Shin now had a Stand, a much better ability for close combat, learning some kendo wouldn't hurt. Even if he didn't plan to use a sword as his primary weapon, expanding his combat skills wouldn't be a waste. He could even use an energy sword as an extra attack method.
Even Frieza occasionally used techniques like the Energy Cutter, showing the potential in such moves.
"Now? Sure, even though I arranged with the dojo master to go tomorrow, they're not busy today."
Yukino nodded and took out her phone to contact the dojo. "The dojo belongs to the Busujima family, a renowned kendo lineage. I'll contact the daughter of the Busujima family."
"…The Busujima family?"
Shin's expression became a bit odd; he seemed to have heard an unusual surname. He remembered searching online and confirming there was no Fujimi Academy in this world.
"Yes, the eldest daughter of their family attends Shuchiin Academy," Yukino replied while messaging, speaking casually.
That made sense. Though there was no Fujimi Academy, the eldest daughter of the Busujima family, Saeko Busujima, as a distinguished lady, did have the credentials to attend a prestigious school like Shuchiin Academy.
But Shin hadn't expected that the Busujima family actually existed in this world. Could it be that some force was working on a zombie virus or something here?
Even if there were a zombie outbreak, he wouldn't fear it with his powers, but he wouldn't want this rare, peaceful world to be ruined. Battles could be fought in mission worlds; this real world was his sanctuary.
"Looks like merely building a small moneymaking force won't cut it—I need to expand the scale. At the very least, I need them to gather information…"
Initially, Shin's idea after obtaining the "Arrow" was simply to make some money. But now he realized the group should be capable of collecting intelligence too.
"All right, it's set. The dojo is fairly empty right now, so we can go."
While Shin was mulling over his next steps, Yukino finished her call and addressed him.
With a nod, she informed Shin that she had arranged it with the Busujima family's eldest daughter.
…
"Welcome, Miss Yukinoshita."
Inside the dojo, Shin quickly encountered the dojo master, an elderly man with prominent muscles, evident even through his age.
Shin could sense the "ki" of everyone present, and this seemingly older master had the strongest ki in the room, second only to Shin himself.
The second strongest was a tall girl in casual clothes standing by the dojo hall. Her figure was so striking it was hard to believe she was still in high school—a stark contrast to Yukino.
Noticing Shin's gaze, Saeko Busujima, who was swinging a sword, looked back at him. After a brief eye contact, she smiled and nodded at him.
Ordinarily, she'd sense the sharp aura around someone like Shin and find him intriguing. However, the gap between them was so vast that unless Shin deliberately released his ki, Saeko wouldn't sense anything at all.
"This is Shin, right?"
The dojo master had also noticed him by now. Likely out of respect for the Yukinoshita name, he treated Shin kindly.
"Have you practiced kendo before?"
"No."
Shin answered honestly. He'd never had any chance to train in kendo; his understanding of it came mainly from anime and novels, so he didn't even know the rules.
And frankly, he wasn't that interested in the rules—he only wanted to learn kendo techniques. People in mission worlds didn't follow any formal rules when they fought.
"I see. How about giving it a try? Saeko, would you mind?"
The dojo master, unconcerned, nodded before turning to Saeko Busujima, asking for her cooperation.
"To be continued…"
"No problem."
Saeko Busujima had no objections and, with a smile, addressed Shin.
"Junior, let's get you suited up in kendo attire."
Shin didn't refuse. Although he doubted kendo gear would provide much protection for him, it was standard procedure.
Since changing clothes wasn't much trouble, he saw no reason to refuse.
To be continued…
