Chương 9: Chapter 9: Hikaru VS Raiden

Raiden stood with a confident posture, a small wooden katana clutched tightly in his hands, his white hair swaying slightly with the afternoon breeze. The sun illuminated the training field at the academy, where several students had gathered to watch the upcoming duel. Raiden's eyes gleamed with determination as he turned to Hikaru. "I challenge you to a fight," he declared, his voice steady, yet filled with an undeniable eagerness.

Hikaru smirked, intrigued by Raiden's boldness. "A fight? Sounds fun! Are you sure you want to face me?" he replied, feigning innocence while masking the excitement bubbling within. Hikaru had been waiting for an opportunity to test his abilities against someone who had clearly trained hard.

"Of course! I've been practicing with my katana. You won't stand a chance!" Raiden responded, an air of competitiveness igniting the atmosphere around them.

Nearby students began to murmur among themselves, some placing bets on the duel while others expressed their excitement at seeing a clash between two of the academy's rising stars. The teacher overseeing the training area observed the commotion with a knowing smile, recognizing the importance of students testing their skills in a safe environment. "As long as you're using wooden swords, I don't see any harm in it," he announced, granting them permission to proceed.

The tension in the air was palpable as Raiden and Hikaru squared off, each sizing the other up. The gathering crowd formed a loose circle around them, whispering excitedly about what they anticipated would be an intense match. A few of the students even shouted encouragement, eager to see the two boys demonstrate their skills.

As the duel began, Raiden charged forward, his movements fluid and precise. He initiated the fight with a series of aggressive slashes, demonstrating his impressive swordsmanship. Each strike was calculated, reflecting the training he had received from his uncle. Raiden had been taught the family techniques of the Hatake clan, and it showed in his confident stance and swift footwork.

Hikaru, on the other hand, took a defensive position, aware of the speed and skill behind Raiden's attacks. Despite his own physical strength and speed being slightly higher, he understood that this duel would be about more than just raw power. It was about strategy, observation, and the ability to adapt to an opponent's style.

As Raiden pressed the attack, Hikaru's heightened senses kicked in. He could feel the shifts in the air as Raiden moved, his instincts guiding him as he expertly dodged and parried the strikes. Each time Raiden swung his wooden katana, Hikaru reacted almost instinctively, as if he could see the strikes coming before they arrived. His body flowed in response to the rhythm of the fight, maintaining a calm composure while the crowd buzzed with excitement.

"Is that all you've got?" Raiden taunted, pressing his advantage. His strikes were relentless, showcasing his superior sword skills. He executed each movement with grace, the result of hours spent honing his craft. It was clear he was determined to dominate the duel, showing almost no mistakes or vulnerabilities in his attacks.

Hikaru, however, remained undeterred. His mind was focused on the fight, analyzing Raiden's movements with every strike. He noted the patterns, the slight shifts in weight, and the rhythm of Raiden's breathing. This was a game of patience, and Hikaru was willing to wait for the perfect moment to strike.

"Come on, Hikaru! You can do better!" one of the onlookers shouted, further fueling the competitive energy. The encouragement made Hikaru smile inwardly; he appreciated the support, even in the midst of combat.

As the duel continued, Raiden's aggressive approach began to show signs of wear. While he was relentless, his attacks were growing more predictable. Hikaru's calm demeanor allowed him to remain focused, and he sensed that the time for his counterattack was drawing near.

Suddenly, Raiden launched a powerful strike aimed at Hikaru's side, but instead of retreating, Hikaru sidestepped and spun, catching Raiden off guard with a sneak attack. In a swift, fluid motion, he brought his wooden katana up, landing a gentle tap on Raiden's shoulder.

The crowd erupted into cheers and laughter, marveling at Hikaru's tactical thinking. Raiden stumbled back, his eyes widening in surprise. "What just happened?" he exclaimed, unable to believe that he had fallen for such a cunning maneuver.

Hikaru grinned, a playful spark in his white eyes. "You were getting too predictable. Just a little patience can go a long way!"

Raiden chuckled, rubbing the spot where Hikaru had struck. "Alright, you've got skills. I'll give you that," he conceded, a newfound respect in his voice. The duel had been an exhilarating experience, one that had pushed both boys to showcase their talents in a way that exceeded their age.

As the cheers from their classmates subsided, the two boys shared a moment of camaraderie, solidifying a budding friendship built on mutual respect and shared ambition.

As I walked away from the arena, the adrenaline that had coursed through my veins began to fade, replaced by a sense of accomplishment mixed with exhaustion. I found a quiet corner of the academy grounds, allowing myself a moment to breathe and reflect on what had just transpired. The fight with Raiden Hatake had been the most challenging of my young life, and I needed to process everything that had happened.

I had stepped into that duel with a clear strategy in mind—play defensively and analyze my opponent. Raiden was known for his exceptional swordsmanship, a skill that came from his family's legacy and extensive training. I recognized that he would likely have better technique than I did, especially with his uncle being a legendary shinobi. I understood from the beginning that if I was to stand a chance, I had to be patient and not let my eagerness to prove myself cloud my judgment.

When the fight began, I was struck by Raiden's intensity. His strikes were aggressive and precise, each one aimed at a specific target, a testament to his training. I could feel the weight behind his attacks as I dodged and parried, my heart racing with every close call. I knew he was stronger than Chōza, Shikaku, and Inoichi combined, and I needed to keep my wits about me.

In those first moments, I quickly realized that Raiden exceeded my expectations. His skill was not just a matter of strength; it was about how he used it. Every attack was calculated, and even though he made mistakes, they were so minimal that they hardly presented an opening. If I had chosen to go on the offensive, I could have easily made a critical error myself, potentially losing the match before it even began.

That's why I chose to remain defensive. My heightening senses were my greatest advantage, and I leaned into that strength. I focused on every shift in his posture, every slight adjustment in his grip on the wooden katana. With each strike, I could sense the energy radiating from him, and I used that information to anticipate his next move. The goal wasn't merely to defend myself but to understand his fighting pattern. Each clash of our weapons was like a dance, one that required me to be both aware and reactive.

Raiden's attacks were relentless, and I began to notice a rhythm to them—a steady beat that I could latch onto. He was aggressive, showing almost no mistakes, but I could see his movements were becoming a bit predictable. As the fight progressed, I had to remind myself to remain calm. Panic would only cloud my judgment and make me reckless. Instead, I waited for the right moment to act.

Finally, I spotted a slight crack in his rhythm. It happened after one of his more powerful strikes when he overcommitted, leaving himself vulnerable for just a fraction of a second. That was my opportunity. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as I made my move. I feinted to the left, and as expected, he shifted his weight to counter my presumed attack.

In that split second, I darted forward, utilizing the speed I had developed through rigorous training. My wooden katana sliced through the air, aiming for his side in a low arc. It was a sneak attack, and everything I had learned in the past few weeks came together in that single moment. My analysis of his fighting style had paid off, allowing me to disrupt his flow and catch him off guard.

When my blade connected with his side, I felt an overwhelming surge of triumph. I had won—not just the match but the confidence in my approach to combat. The defensive style I had chosen was effective, allowing me to utilize my senses and memory to outmaneuver Raiden. It had become clear to me that this was the path I wanted to forge for myself as a shinobi.

As I stood there, catching my breath, I could see Raiden's grin, even though he had lost. There was a mutual respect in that moment, a recognition of our strengths. This wasn't just about victory; it was about growth, understanding, and learning from each other.

I felt a sense of anticipation for what lay ahead. This duel was merely a stepping stone, a glimpse into the challenges I would face in the future. I was determined to continue refining my style, honing my abilities, and pushing the boundaries of my potential. I would embrace each experience, every fight, and each lesson learned, knowing they would shape me into the shinobi I aspired to be.

what do you think of Raiden?

I know that I made him way stronger than Minato, but you have to understand that Minato maybe have similar talent to Hiraku and Raiden but he is an orphan and civilian which cause him to have almost no training before. so it make no sense that he would be strong right now.

And take into consideration that even so Hikaru and Raiden appear very strong now but that's relevant to their age, they aren't strong as Genen, at least without Hikaru using Chakra Recycling and Raiden without ninjutsu.
