"Injure yourself to clear your mind and shake off the fear? Impressive… you're not like the usual prey," the female ninja murmured to herself, stepping up to the small pool of blood Sasuke had left behind.
She smiled, then melted into the ground, vanishing without a trace.
Lee saw the entire exchange from a safe distance. His mind raced as he weighed his options. Part of him wanted to escape as far as possible from this terrifying ninja. But another part of him was desperate to know what she truly wanted from Uchiha Sasuke. After a moment's hesitation, he decided to follow her, moving stealthily through the forest.
Meanwhile, behind a large tree, Sasuke was clenching his teeth as he yanked the kunai out of his leg. The pain was excruciating, but he endured it without making a sound.
"Sasuke, are you alright?" Sakura asked, finally breaking out of her stunned state.
Sasuke quickly covered her mouth. "Shh! Don't say a word," he whispered, his voice shaking. "We have to get out of here. If we don't move now, she'll find us—and we'll be killed."
Sasuke's entire body trembled with fear. For the first time, Sakura could see just how terrified he was. She stared at him in shock—this wasn't the Sasuke she knew.
Then, her eyes widened. A massive, twenty-meter-long snake had silently slithered up behind them, its golden eyes fixed on them with predatory intent.
"Sasuke, look! It's a snake!" Sakura screamed, yanking Sasuke's hand away.
"Hissss!"
The giant snake lunged forward, mouth wide open, ready to swallow them whole. But Sasuke reacted quickly, grabbing Sakura and jumping out of the way just in time. "I let my guard down... I didn't even sense it coming," he muttered, feeling a pang of frustration.
The massive serpent wrapped itself around a nearby tree, coiling tightly as it readied for another attack. Despite its size, it moved with incredible agility, winding up the tree like a flash and preparing to strike again.
Watching from a distance, Lee felt a chill down his spine. There was something unnatural about this snake, something that reminded him of the female ninja.
"A snake with chakra like hers…" he muttered, realizing that the two might be connected.
Sasuke seemed to feel it too. In a panic, he threw every kunai and shuriken he had at the creature. "Stay back!" he yelled, pouring all his strength into the desperate attack.
His aim was deadly accurate; each weapon struck the snake's vital points, and with a final blow, the giant snake collapsed, blood spilling from its wounds and pooling on the forest floor.
Sasuke stared at the dead snake, breathing heavily, his Sharingan eyes locked on its motionless form. But even in victory, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.
And he was right.
To their horror, the snake's head slowly began to split open. Emerging from its gaping mouth was the female ninja, covered in snake fluid, her eyes glinting with dark amusement.
"Never let your guard down around a predator," she mocked, slithering out of the snake's body and licking her lips with that unnervingly long, red tongue.
Lee, still hiding, grimaced in disgust. "What kind of monster is this?" he muttered, shaken by her grotesque appearance.
The female ninja slowly advanced toward Sasuke and Sakura, her lower body moving like a snake, her eyes cold and merciless.
Sasuke's heart pounded as he watched her approach. The sight of her inhuman movements, her cold stare, and her snake-like tongue terrified him. He could hardly find the courage to move.
Just as she was about to reach Sasuke, a rain of shuriken flew through the air, forcing her to halt her advance.
"Sorry, Sasuke! I'm a little late," Naruto called out, appearing from the shadows like a savior. He looked determined, though his clothes were torn, and his face bore fresh cuts and bruises from his own struggles in the forest.
"Naruto!" Sakura's voice was full of relief and surprise. She never thought she'd be so glad to see him.
Naruto grinned. "I forgot the code, but I'm here now!" he shouted with his usual confidence.
Sakura laughed, finally letting out the tension in her chest. "Naruto, you're an idiot—but thank goodness you're here!"
But Sasuke was less than pleased. "Naruto, this is no time to play hero! Run while you can. This enemy is far beyond our level!" he yelled back.
The fear and desperation in Sasuke's voice were unmistakable. He knew, better than anyone, how powerful this female ninja was. Even Kakashi would struggle against her, and here they were, three rookies in the fight of their lives.
Naruto's face darkened. "No way, Sasuke! I'm not letting you guys face her alone," he said firmly, gripping his kunai tightly as he prepared for battle.
