Chương 30: Grandson

"What… what the hell?"

The guards stumbled back, their breaths caught in their throats as strange energy surged from Elion's body. An eerie light surrounded the boy, forming an aura that pulsed with immense power. Verion and Elara turned, stunned to see Elion standing at the center of it all, his face set with determination.

"Elion…" Elara whispered, her voice trembling between awe and fear. She felt her blood run cold, but she couldn't tear her eyes away from her son. This was a side of Elion she had never seen before.

Verion, on the other hand, let out a bitter smile. "I didn't know you were this strong." His eyes glimmered with a long-lost excitement, but beneath it lay a deep respect for his brother's power.

The elders' eyes widened in shock, a few even staggered back. One elder, draped in red robes, paled as he whispered in a barely audible voice, "That boy… how can this be? This is impossible…"

"Such energy… from a child!" another elder exclaimed, his voice shaking with fear.

They exchanged glances, and fear began to creep into their ranks. The power and influence they had once wielded felt fragile in the presence of a boy capable of tearing through space and obliterating dozens of guards in one move.

The remaining guards, who had moments ago charged with full confidence, now stood rooted in place. Their faces were drenched in sweat, and their hands trembled as they gripped their weapons. One of them fell to his knees, eyes empty, as if realizing that death was now breathing down his neck. Silence choked the once-chaotic hall, leaving only the oppressive weight of terror.

Graviel remained seated on his throne, though his once-arrogant smile had faded. His gaze on Elion was sharp, but there was something different in his eyes now—a mix of caution and intrigue. He took a deep breath before finally speaking.

"So, this is the power he spoke of," he said quietly, almost a whisper. "Who are you, kid?" he asked, his voice low but commanding.

From a distance, Elion heard Graviel's murmur, though faint. It made him wonder. He? Who is he talking about? But he quickly shook off his thoughts and met Graviel's gaze, his golden eyes glowing in the dim hall.

"Who am I? I'm your grandson," Elion replied with mocking defiance, making Graviel's face darken instantly.

Verion chuckled at Elion's words, but quickly turned his attention to the remaining guards, who were still trembling from witnessing Elion's overwhelming power.

His eyes narrowed, and the grin on his face twisted into something wild and dangerous. He wouldn't be outdone by Elion. His blood boiled, and his fighting spirit roared to life. His sword gleamed in his grip, wrapped in a pulsating crimson and violet Qi that crackled with raw energy.

"Well then, my turn," Verion muttered softly, his voice carrying a chilling weight that sank into the guards' souls.

He moved with a speed that defied sight. In an instant, he was among the quivering guards, who had barely begun to comprehend their doom.

"Stop!" One guard cried desperately, but it was too late.

SLASH!

Verion's first swing sliced through the air with a sharp hiss. In one fluid motion, several heads were severed, blood spraying from their necks like crimson fountains. Their bodies swayed before collapsing to the marble floor with heavy thuds.

The other guards froze; their faces paled with terror. They stepped back, one pace, then two, before attempting to flee from Verion's wrath.

But he gave them no chance. Like a flash of lightning, Verion darted toward them, his crimson eyes blazing like flames of hell. He cut, slashed, and struck down anyone who dared to run.

"His Qi… it's not normal!" An elder shouted from afar, his face drained of colour as he watched Verion's lethal speed and precision. "Kill them! All guards, attack!"

The command echoed throughout the hall, but it fell on deaf ears. The guards' fighting spirit had been crushed—swallowed by terror. They knew facing Verion meant certain death.

Some tried to escape, but Verion was faster. In the blink of an eye, he stood before one, swinging his sword with deadly precision. The guard fell in two, blood pooling beneath him. The others stumbled and crawled, desperate to get away.

Verion showed no mercy. He grabbed one trembling guard with a single hand.

"You're not getting away," he whispered coldly. Without warning, his grip tightened on the guard's most vulnerable spot—his manhood, crushing it with brutal force.

"ARGHH!" The guard's scream pierced the air, silencing everyone who bore witness, leaving only horror in their wake.

The remaining guards fell to their knees, some vomiting, others scrambling to flee without any sense of direction. Verion's eyes locked onto them.

"Run? In front of me?" He leapt, swift and precise, striking down another guard. Before the man could utter a word, Verion delivered another crushing blow, marking the end with a final, strangled scream.

The elders watched with pale faces. Some of them even collapsed from their seats.

"This… this isn't human," one of them murmured, eyes wide with terror. They saw not only power, but the merciless vengeance of a warrior who had cast aside any thought of mercy.

Verion stood in the center of the hall, his breaths heavy. The crimson-violet Qi surrounding him slowly faded, but his gaze remained sharp and filled with hate. He showed no signs of exhaustion. If anything, he seemed even more eager.

"Who's next?" he challenged, his voice echoing throughout the room. "Who else wants to die?"

No one answered. The surviving guards bowed their heads, trembling. The elders exchanged glances, and though some tried to maintain their composure, their faces betrayed genuine fear.

On the other side, Elara watched with a mix of dread and pride. Verion, her son whom she had always sought to protect, had become a monster on the battlefield. But she knew this was a fight for survival.

"Verion… Elion… we can't back down now," she whispered, gripping her dagger tightly.

Graviel, who had been silently watching, spoke again, his face dark. "What kind of creatures have you given birth to, Elara?" he asked quietly.

Hearing this, Elara lifted her head and met Graviel's gaze, a sly smile curling at her lips. "What do you mean, Your Grace? They're your grandchildren."
