Chương 3: Scarier Movie Part III

The camera cuts to Stacey's car, a bright pink convertible with a vanity license plate that reads "CHEERQT". Her music is blasting, some peppy, over-the-top pop song that matches her bouncy personality. Stacey drives with one hand on the wheel, the other constantly checking her reflection in the rearview mirror.

As she drives through a desolate, foggy countryside, completely oblivious to the eerie atmosphere around her, she reaches for her lip gloss and applies it with precision, her eyes flicking between the road and the mirror.

Narrator (with exasperation): "And so, Stacey begins her perilous journey… mostly focused on reapplying lip gloss. It's amazing she's still alive."

Stacey continues driving, humming to herself, when she suddenly notices a sign on the side of the road. It's old, rotting, and written in Gothic script: "Welcome to Creepsville. Population: Too Few to Matter."

Stacey (squinting at the sign): "Ugh, what kind of town is that? Doesn't sound like there's a mall nearby…"

Unfazed, she drives on, completely ignoring the warning signs that litter the road. One particularly concerning sign reads: "Turn Back Now, Your Life Depends on It." Below it, someone has scrawled in red spray paint: "No, Seriously, Turn Back."

Narrator (dryly): "She won't. She never does."

The camera zooms out as Stacey's pink convertible disappears into the fog. A large raven swoops down in front of her car, letting out an ominous caw, but Stacey doesn't even notice as she adjusts her hair, flicking it back into place with a satisfied grin.

Cut to Tammy's car, a sensible sedan that's playing a loud hip-hop beat. Tammy taps her fingers on the steering wheel, the beat of the music perfectly matching her irritated expression. She's still ranting, this time talking to herself, convinced that the "million-dollar" prize waiting at the castle is hers.

Tammy (muttering): "I knew it. This is my time. I'm gonna get paid. Ain't nobody taking that check but me."

The road begins to get narrower and darker as she approaches the town. Fog rolls in thick, swallowing up the trees on either side. Tammy glances out the window, her confidence wavering slightly as she reads the next sign: "Beware. Entering Creepsville. Population: Why Bother?"

Tammy (frowning): "What kinda name is Creepsville? Sounds like a place where they bury people in their backyards."

She drives further into the fog, muttering under her breath, but when the Welcome to Creepsville sign flashes past her, she barely registers it. She adjusts her rearview mirror, still thinking about how she's going to spend the imaginary prize money.

Suddenly, her car radio crackles, and the music cuts out. Static fills the car for a moment before a deep, haunting voice comes through the speakers:

Radio Voice: "Turn… back…"

Tammy freezes, her eyes widening. She taps the radio, hoping it's just a glitch, but the voice returns, even deeper this time.

Radio Voice (guttural): "Don't… go…"

Tammy slams the radio off and takes a deep breath, shaking her head.

Tammy (nervously laughing): "Uh-uh. This ain't no horror movie. I'm just here to get that check."

As she drives further into the town, she passes a run-down gas station. The old sign hanging above it reads: "Last Gas for 20 Miles. Don't Expect to Survive the Trip." The fog thickens, and the few people standing around the gas station glance at Tammy's car with slow, eerie movements.

The camera cuts back to Stacey, who has also reached the gas station, though she remains completely oblivious to how out of place everything is. She pulls up to a pump, waving cheerfully at the freaky-looking gas station attendants, who appear to be long-lost extras from a backwoods horror movie.

One of them, an older man with a scraggly beard and a dead-eyed stare, shuffles over to her car, giving her a long, unsettling look. He reaches out his hand as if to help, but she jumps out of the car, holding up a cheerful hand.

Stacey (smiling brightly): "Like, I'll do it myself, thanks!"

She starts pumping the gas, completely ignoring the way the attendant's mouth twitches into a sinister smile. The other gas station employees continue to watch her from the shadows, but Stacey, still humming her peppy pop tune, pays them no mind.

Narrator (amused): "Of course she's not worried. They wouldn't dare mess with someone who has an Instagram following."

As Stacey pumps her gas, Tammy's car pulls in right next to her. Tammy steps out, her expression immediately wary as she notices the creepy attendants. She gives Stacey a side-eye, but Stacey remains blissfully unaware.

Tammy (under her breath): "I swear, this place is straight outta The Hills Have Eyes."

The camera zooms in on one of the attendants, who leans in too close as Tammy approaches the pump.

Attendant (grinning eerily): "Let me help you with that."

Tammy pulls back, her eyes narrowing.

Tammy (suspiciously): "Nah, I got it. Thanks, though."

The man gives her a slow, almost predatory smile and steps back, his eyes never leaving her.

Narrator (mocking): "Ah yes, friendly locals. Always helpful. Always watching."

Tammy quickly pumps her gas, side-eyeing the attendants as they continue to watch her and Stacey with unnerving interest. Meanwhile, Stacey cheerfully waves at them before getting back into her pink convertible, adjusting her rearview mirror.

Stacey (brightly): "Okay, thanks! Like, see you never!"

She drives off, completely oblivious to the fact that she just narrowly avoided being murdered. Tammy, shaking her head, quickly follows suit, both cars disappearing into the dense fog as the eerie gas station fades into the background.

After leaving the gas station, both Stacey and Tammy drive deeper into the foggy, narrow road that leads to Dracula's castle. The landscape becomes more desolate, with twisted trees that seem to reach out like claws, and the occasional flicker of movement in the shadows, though neither girl seems to notice.

Cut to Stacey, still driving her bright pink convertible through the fog. She's completely oblivious to the creepy atmosphere surrounding her, bobbing her head to the music blasting from her speakers. Her perfectly manicured fingers tap rhythmically on the steering wheel, while her phone sits in the cupholder, lighting up with notifications every few seconds.

Suddenly, a black cat darts across the road in front of her car, hissing as it disappears into the underbrush. Stacey squeals and slams on the brakes, bringing the car to a sudden, screeching stop. She fumbles for her phone, which has fallen to the floor, clearly more concerned about it than the cat.

Stacey (groaning): "Ugh! That stupid cat! I almost dropped my phone!"

As she reaches down to grab her phone, the camera cuts to a shot outside the car. A pair of glowing red eyes peer out from the trees, watching her. The low growl of some unseen creature echoes through the fog.

Narrator (sarcastically): "If only she paid as much attention to the monsters as she does to her social media."

Stacey sits up, fixing her hair in the rearview mirror before putting the car back in drive. She glances briefly into the fog, not seeing anything particularly concerning, and shrugs.

Stacey (nonchalantly): "Whatever. I've got better things to do than worry about dumb animals."

The music resumes, and Stacey speeds off down the road, leaving the glowing eyes behind her. The camera lingers on the dark figure lurking in the trees for a moment before cutting away.

Meanwhile, Tammy is still driving cautiously through the thickening fog, her knuckles white as she grips the steering wheel. Her eyes dart nervously from side to side, scanning the road ahead for any sign of danger. The radio remains off, and the eerie silence inside the car only adds to her growing unease.

Tammy (muttering to herself): "This place is creepy as hell… Ain't no way that money's worth this."

As Tammy passes a crumbling old sign that reads "Creepsville Cemetery: Where You Go to Stay", she can't help but shudder. The fog seems to grow thicker with every mile, and her headlights barely cut through the dense mist.

Suddenly, something thumps against the roof of her car. Tammy gasps, swerving slightly as she struggles to regain control of the wheel.

Tammy (wide-eyed): "What the hell was that?!"

She glances in her rearview mirror but sees nothing. Her breathing quickens as another loud thump echoes from the roof, followed by the sound of something scraping along the top of the car. Tammy pulls over to the side of the road, her heart racing.

Narrator (amused): "Ah yes, the classic horror movie mistake. Stopping to investigate."

Tammy hesitates for a moment before reaching for the door handle. She steps out of the car cautiously, looking up at the roof. There's nothing there, only the faint sound of the wind howling through the trees. She lets out a shaky breath, her nerves still on edge.

Just as she's about to get back into the car, a figure lunges out of the fog, grabbing at her. Tammy screams, jumping back as the figure stumbles toward her. For a moment, it seems like the nightmare is real, until the figure steps fully into the headlights, revealing itself to be a harmless, confused hitchhiker.

Hitchhiker (grinning nervously): "Uh… hey, sorry, didn't mean to scare you. Can I, uh, get a ride?"

Tammy glares at the man, clearly unimpressed by his sudden appearance.

Tammy (frustrated): "You better get outta here before I run you over next."

The hitchhiker, realizing he's not getting a ride, shrugs and backs off into the fog, mumbling something about "crazy women." Tammy gets back into her car, slamming the door shut and locking it, her heart still pounding.

Narrator (chuckling): "Close, but not quite. Better luck next time, Tammy."

Tammy drives off, her nerves still frayed, but now determined to get to the castle and claim her million dollars.

The camera pans to Dracula's castle, an ominous, towering structure barely visible through the thick fog that surrounds it. The gate to the castle creaks in the wind, flanked by stone gargoyles with menacing, glowing eyes. Thunder rumbles ominously in the background as the camera zooms in on the large, ornate doors that lead inside.

A flicker of movement catches the camera's eye as a bat swoops down from one of the castle's towers, transforming mid-flight into Dracula, who lands gracefully at the entrance. He straightens his dark cloak, his fangs gleaming in the dim moonlight as he watches the approaching cars in the distance.

Dracula (with a sinister smile): "Ah, they are coming… Let the games begin."

The camera zooms out, showing Dracula standing alone at the entrance of his castle as thunder rumbles again. The fog swirls around his feet, and the scene fades to black.
