Chương 60: It was the second door after Alice's

Two things could make Devon break his calmness and become hostile. One was if he felt the safety of an individual or individuals were at risk and the other was the act of hypocrisy.

Devon carried Alice into the building they had pulled up to. They were heading for Mark's apartment.

"You're both going to stay under one roof?" Devon asked and Mark looked back at him.

"Do you think she's going to stay alone? She's a minor." Mark pointed out and Devon nodded.

He knew Alice was handed to him as her guardian by the chairman but he just didn't realize that they would be staying together.

She was a minor, yes, but...

He looked down at her sleeping in his arms. She looked nothing like a minor after walking out of that dungeon.

No, he shook his head, he shouldn't think strange thoughts.

The jailer had pure intentions.

Mark noticed Devon shaking his head from the side and wondered what he was thinking of. He was acting weird.
