Chương 146: Chapter 146

Supergirl, also known as Kara Zor-El, could barely suppress a sigh as she faced Doctor Manhattan. His powers were incomprehensible and defied all reasonable explanation.

"Let me get this straight," Kara began, crossing her arms and narrowing her eyes. "You were disintegrated by quantum energy, wandered around the quantum realm out of sheer curiosity, and then just came back with godlike powers? Seriously?"

Her skepticism was palpable. "How is that fair to anyone, especially Ant-Man? That guy has spent years learning how to navigate the quantum realm without getting himself killed."

Doctor Manhattan stood silently, his glowing blue form calm and detached.

"What's next?" Kara continued, waving a hand in exasperation. "You look at a Van Gogh painting, and suddenly you are Van Gogh? Or maybe you skim a math book and instantly become a professor? Disassemble a TV, and suddenly you're inventing new technology? No way. That's not how this works!"

Doctor Manhattan, unbothered by her tirade, finally spoke, his voice soft yet resonant. "Kara Zor-El, as a Kryptonian, you absorb limitless power from the sun. Yet you question my existence?"

Kara paused, the corner of her mouth twitching in frustration. "Touché. Fine. You win this round," she muttered begrudgingly.

It was true—her ability to gain immense power simply by basking in sunlight wasn't exactly logical either. But Doctor Manhattan's origins still left her baffled.

"Have a seat or something," Kara finally said, gesturing to the couch. "I'll make some tea."

Doctor Manhattan, however, shook his head. "I didn't come here for refreshments. I've come to ask for your help. My world is facing annihilation. I need you to come with me."

Kara immediately shook her head. "Nope. Sorry. Not happening."

Doctor Manhattan's glowing eyes remained fixed on her. "You won't refuse," he said simply.

Kara groaned, rubbing her temples. "You're not going to leave until I say yes, are you?"

He inclined his head slightly. "Correct. If I remain here, my presence will eventually destabilize this universe. Either you destroy me, or I bring ruin."

Kara stiffened, feeling the weight of his words. She knew his abilities extended beyond the physical—he could perceive time itself, past, present, and future, as a singular continuum.

"Across the multiverse?" Kara asked hesitantly.

"Yes," Manhattan replied. "But don't worry. I will open the quantum tunnel for you. And I've seen it—you'll return in three days with a smile on your face. You'll be happy you went."

Kara arched an eyebrow, dubious. "You're awfully confident for someone who doesn't have emotions."

Doctor Manhattan didn't respond.

Finally, Kara sighed. "Fine. I'll go let my parents know. Give me a minute."

She left the room, descending the stairs with a heavy sigh. Her heart raced, and cold sweat broke out on her forehead. Facing someone as powerful as Doctor Manhattan was no small feat. She'd had to play it cool, but she knew if a fight broke out, not only would she lose—Earth itself might be at risk.

"Kara?" Martha Kent's voice interrupted her thoughts. "I thought you were heading to bed?"

Jonathan Kent glanced up from his book, concern etched across his face.

"I, uh, have to go out for a few days," Kara said, forcing a smile. "Mom, where's my battle suit?"

Martha frowned but stood up, heading to the laundry room. "I just cleaned it. It should be dry."

Kara's heart sank slightly. "Mom, you didn't have to wash it—it's Kryptonian tech. It cleans itself."

Martha shrugged. "Old habits die hard."

When Martha handed her the suit, Kara pressed it to her face, breathing in the comforting scent of soap and home. Her mother's meticulous care somehow gave her strength, even in the face of cosmic uncertainty.

"Going out again?" Jonathan asked, his brow furrowed.

"Yeah, but I'll be back in a few days," Kara reassured him.

After a quick goodbye, Kara flew back upstairs, donning her suit with practiced ease.

"Let's go," she said to Doctor Manhattan, determination replacing her earlier hesitation.

Without a word, Manhattan's body began to glow brighter. A dazzling blue light enveloped them both, and in an instant, they disappeared.

The transition was not instantaneous. Kara realized they were traveling through the quantum realm—a vast, kaleidoscopic expanse of energy and color.

Despite herself, Kara was captivated. It was her first time experiencing the quantum realm's raw power, and she marveled at its intricacies. She could feel her own body adapting, her Kryptonian physiology responding to the quantum energy.

As they journeyed, a thought crossed her mind—perhaps she, too, could harness this power in the future. The possibilities were exhilarating.

But she quickly pushed the thought aside, focusing on the task ahead. Whatever awaited her in Doctor Manhattan's universe, she was determined to face it head-on.
