Chương 33: CP-0’s Assassins
The storm raged around the Thousand Sunny as it sailed deeper into the swirling maelstrom, temporarily shielding the crew from their Marine pursuers. The wind howled and the waves crashed against the hull, but the crew remained vigilant. They knew their enemies were still out there, waiting for the right moment to strike. And sure enough, as the ship plowed through the storm, CP-0 made their move.
Luffy, Ace, and Sabo stood at the center of the ship, catching their breath after the intense battle with Kizaru. The storm had given them a brief reprieve, but something wasn't right. The air felt heavy, and an unnatural silence hung over the deck, broken only by the sound of the storm.
"Something's wrong," Robin said, her voice low as she scanned the ship. Her eyes narrowed as she spotted movement in the shadows near the mast. "We're not alone."
Before she could warn the others, several masked figures leaped from the shadows, moving with lightning speed. Their black suits blended into the stormy darkness, and their faces were hidden behind emotionless masks—CP-0, the most elite agents of the World Government, had boarded the Sunny.
Without hesitation, Robin reacted. Her hands sprouted multiple arms along the ship's deck, grabbing at the assassins to stop their advance. But CP-0 was fast—faster than anything the Straw Hats had encountered before.
"They're here for Luffy, Ace, and Sabo!" Robin shouted, her voice cutting through the storm. "We can't let them get close!"
Luffy spun around, his eyes narrowing as he saw the masked agents approaching. "CP-0... so they really sent the best."
One of the assassins lunged for Luffy, his movements so quick that it seemed like a blur. Luffy dodged just in time, his Haki flaring as he countered with a powerful punch, sending the agent flying back. "You're not taking me down that easily!"
Sabo and Ace immediately leaped into action. Sabo's Dragon Claw technique tore through the air, intercepting another agent as he tried to make a move toward Luffy. "You're not getting past us!" Sabo shouted, his arm glowing with Haki as he drove it into the masked agent's chest.
Ace, his body engulfed in flames, launched a wave of fire toward the remaining agents. "If you want my brother, you'll have to burn through me first!" His Hiken roared across the deck, forcing the CP-0 agents to scatter, but they quickly regrouped, moving with eerie precision.
As the battle escalated, Zoro and Sanji stepped in to assist. Zoro's swords gleamed in the flashes of lightning, cutting down any agents that got too close. "These guys are tough," Zoro muttered, his jaw clenched as he blocked a flurry of strikes from one of the masked assassins. "But they won't stop us."
Sanji, his Diable Jambe glowing bright with flames, spun through the air, kicking away an assassin who was attempting to flank Luffy. "Luffy! Focus on fighting—we'll handle the rest!"
Meanwhile, Robin and Franky worked to protect the ship's systems. The masked assassins were not only after Luffy, Ace, and Sabo, but they also aimed to sabotage the Sunny, disabling their escape route. Robin used her extra arms to block agents from reaching the vital parts of the ship, while Franky fortified the ship's controls.
"Oi, Brook! We need to make sure they don't disable the engines!" Franky shouted, his hands flying over the ship's control panel as he worked to reinforce the systems.
Brook, laughing despite the chaos, pulled out his sword and danced through the agents with eerie grace. "Leave it to me, Franky! These masked villains won't get close to the Sunny while I'm here!"
Chopper, in his Heavy Point, roared as he charged at one of the agents who had managed to slip past the others. "Get away from the ship!" Chopper shouted, delivering a powerful punch that sent the agent tumbling across the deck.
Despite their teamwork, the CP-0 agents were relentless. Their goal was clear—neutralize Luffy, Ace, and Sabo at any cost. One of the agents, faster than the others, darted past the Straw Hats and made a beeline for Luffy, a sharp blade glinting in the flashes of lightning.
"Luffy, watch out!" Robin shouted, her hands sprouting more arms to grab the agent, but the assassin was too fast. The blade came down toward Luffy's back, but before it could strike, Zoro appeared, blocking the attack with his swords.
"You're not getting to him," Zoro growled, his eyes flashing dangerously. With a swift movement, he disarmed the agent, sending them flying back into the storm.
Ace and Sabo, seeing how desperate CP-0 was becoming, exchanged a quick glance. "They're going to keep coming until one of us falls," Ace muttered, his fists clenched tightly.
Sabo nodded. "Then we can't give them the chance. Let's finish this now."
With that, Ace unleashed a powerful blast of fire, his Entei attack lighting up the stormy sky. The flames roared across the deck, forcing the CP-0 agents to retreat momentarily. Sabo followed up with a devastating Dragon Breath, shattering the deck beneath one of the assassins and sending him flying into the sea below.
Luffy, seeing the opening his brothers had created, leaped into the air, his fists crackling with Conqueror's Haki. "Gomu Gomu no King Kong Gun!" he roared, slamming his fist into the deck, causing a shockwave that rippled through the entire ship. The sheer force of the attack sent the remaining agents flying, their bodies crashing into the stormy waves below.
For a moment, the only sound was the rain pounding against the deck and the wind howling through the sails. The masked agents were gone, but the threat they represented lingered. CP-0 would not stop until Luffy, Ace, and Sabo were taken down.
The crew stood together, catching their breath as the storm raged on around them. The Sunny creaked and groaned under the weight of the battle, but it held strong.
"They'll be back," Ace said, his flames still flickering around him. "We've shown them we can fight, but they'll just send more."
Sabo, his face grim, nodded. "They won't stop. The World Government won't let us walk away after what we've done."
Luffy clenched his fists, his eyes filled with determination. "Let them come. We'll fight them all. We'll fight for our freedom."
Robin, who had been watching the entire battle unfold with a calm yet calculating gaze, spoke softly. "We need to be careful. CP-0 doesn't fight like other enemies. They'll find another way to strike, and next time, they'll be even more dangerous."
Zoro sheathed his swords, his expression serious. "Doesn't matter how dangerous they are. We'll cut them down every time."
The storm began to clear, and as the Thousand Sunny sailed forward, the crew knew that the battles ahead would only grow more intense. CP-0, the Marines, the World Government—they were all closing in, and the fight for their freedom had only just begun.
